bluebell82 · 04/07/2007 08:28

hello everyone, I am sorry to crash as I have not been on this thread for a while, tried to stay away until I was 12 weeks.. but had to tell... I had a private scan yesterday, worth every penny!! Saw the baby jumping around fingers and toes.. on the 4d scan you could see everything, quite bizarre.. have got a dvd which has been watched on loop last night! Again sorry to crash, hope everyone is OK and not finding the 12 week wait as it were as nerve wracking as me, everything that could possibly go wrong I have suspected !!

PBirdy · 04/07/2007 10:17

Mummyto2 - what an absolute rollercoaster! I am so glad to hear that all is well. What a massive relief. I hope that you are putting your feet up and taking things easy for the next little while - you need your rest

Glad to hear the news of the other good scans as well.

The scans are great but a very emotional time too hey.

X

gingeme · 04/07/2007 10:36

spud01 · 04/07/2007 12:57

hi all, hope everyone ok. Im feeling a tad fed up today, im 10 weeks today and still had not had a proper appointment through to see the midwife, only that stupid group session. So i phoned them up yesterday because i was so fed up with waiting, ive really worked myself up with worry whether everything is ok or not. Anyway i received a phone call of a midwife this morning and they have lost my records, so basically i would have been waiting for an eternity for an appointment. Im sorry for rant. x

Sarahjct · 04/07/2007 13:18

Hi Spud

I know how you feel. I've waited weeks for an appointment and just got one through finally, for the 19th July. I'll be 15 weeks! To me that seems ridiculously late. I had half a mind to tell them they might as well wait until January and then they could book me in and deliver all at the same time!

MotherofZ · 04/07/2007 13:26

Thanks everyone for the welcome

mummytolittleprincess - hope you are ok. take it easy and put your feet up.

My midwife wouldn't see me until I was 12 weeks, but she reluctantly agreed to see me at 9 weeks and that's only because I was going to the Far East the following weekend and she wanted to check my blood pressure was ok and that's it.

PBirdy · 04/07/2007 13:30

Oh Spud - fed up and rightly so! You have to wonder about these things really don't you - I mean, what if you weren't pro-active and didn't call!

barristermum · 04/07/2007 14:55

I'm not being seen for booking in until 16 weeks which seemed mad to me too, but to be honest I'm glad of the least amount of appointments I have to juggle work for frankly!

MrsMcJnr · 04/07/2007 16:31

Hello everyone just checking in after my lovely relaxing holiday in the sun how are we all? any news?

Angechica · 04/07/2007 16:46

hello all

have just booked flight for holiday in Aug.

Thi sounds ridiculous but I really hate flying and usually get tanked up and take valiums to deal with it. I've been avoiding all medication & would never put baby at risk but am terrified at thought of flying "clean" - apart from herbal things which don't work, does anyone know if any kind of sedative safe to take? I will check with dr midwife if necessary.

I would rather just go to Cornwall or summat to be honest but dh thinks its important, last hol before 2 become 3 etc.

Bettymamma · 04/07/2007 16:52

Hi ladies

Not been around for a while. Finally beginning to enjoy this pregnancy now I'm out of the 1st trimester bit. Have been trying to catch up with you all.

MrsMcj - good to have you back? how are you? how was the holiday?

MotherofZ - hello, I've been on the dec briefly as also straddiling both threads but its so difficult to keep up!

mummytolittleprincess - glad all is well with you. Take it easy and rest (like Awen said!)

Sorry to hear about all the sickness. Sarahjct I was JUST like you - empty tummy got sick but had no appetite. The end is in sight I reckon. I'm almost back to normal except in the middle of the night. I'm now putting weight on like an elephant. I'm quite small anyway and it happened with my dd so I was expecting it. I just want a healthy baby - don't care how big the butt gets!

Anyway - hope you're all well.xx

barristermum · 04/07/2007 17:34

Mrs McJnr - hurraaaay - we were getting worried - we didn't know how long your holiday was. All well? Had a lovely time in Spain? We are all getting a little less paranoid and stressy as scans happen and 1st trimesters are left behind. We have lost some and gained others - look down for the latest list. Good luck for your obstet appt tomorrow - I have my 12 week scan and assuming all well (fingers crossed) we then go public!

nicky6 · 04/07/2007 18:20

sarah - am exactly the same as you, no appetite and feel sick all the time - however very weirdly i have had three days when i really really could not be ill i) i was arguing a case in the court of appeal and ii) had my friend and ger 3 children under five to stay this weekend and iii) 70 people for bbq on sunday - and miraculously they are the only days i haven't been ill - this is leading me to think that i am in fact making it up.

As after a very very very manic weekend (but with no sickness) on the monday when i was due to start a trial i was being sick at 9.30 pm, 8, am, 11 am whilst at court (nice) and then 4.30.................... what is all that about!!!!!!

I am 10+3 i think and wont see anyone at all until my scan on 19/7.

I have recently been convincing myself ( yes I know again) that in fact maybe i am not pregnant but have virus with sickness and extreme fatigue tendencies. Or alternatively madness is creeping up on me

LilyLoo · 04/07/2007 19:25

Evening all.
Mummyto2 what a shock and relief that must have been for you, thank goodness it all turned out well. We don't want to loose anyone else.
Nice to see you back Mrsmc hope you had good hol.
Well am slightly peed off with work at moment not sure if it's hormonal but since they found out am pg they seem to be leaving me out of the planning for September. I work in a school that is changing to an Academy and basically my new line manager told other staff that due to my personal circumstances i won't be in much next year. What about Sept to xmas !
Was thinking i might e mail her and try and get a meeting but really can do without this stress.

ayrshirelolo · 04/07/2007 21:16

Hello folks! Hope everyone is as well as possible and good luck for all the scans (and ops!) this week thread buddies! I've had a few issues at work, i had to go public a couple of weeks ago (i have the kind of job where there are implications for risk assessment / personal safety / kids with chicken pox!) and as i am the fourth woman in my office to declare herself up the duff at present i'm gettin no slack at all. Pain in the arse, because last time i got loads of sympathy for sickness / exhaustion etc and told to work from home if necessary. Today i overhead a manager ask one of the other pg people if she was a bit tired, and when she understandably said "yes" he asked me to do the job instead! I wouldn't mind, but i'm ten years older than her, have a 1 year old, work full time and commute 60 miles a day! Sorry, just realised this is now a rant, i'll go and eat something extremely unhealthy and go to bed! Sorry again!

MamaMaiasaura · 04/07/2007 21:33

great to see you MrsMcJnr, was getting worried about you. HOw was the holiday Lots of sunshine? We have had nothing but rain here.

Good luck to everyone with scans coming up. Who has thier scans etc. I cant keep up with thread. Has anyone else posted there scan pics?

mummyto2littleprincess · 04/07/2007 21:55

thanks for all your kind words

im just so happy that the baby is ok it was the worst time of my life

sabinar · 04/07/2007 22:02

hi everyone... catching up on the news after being away for a little while. It's been busy on here!

We had our scan last week - pretty amazing. I was pretty stressed about the blood test as I can't remember the last time I had a needle and I don't have a good history with them, but managed to distract myself and it was fine.

We got the blood results back at the same time, which was surprising...

The doctor really went out of his way not to say 'everything is fine' - he didn't say anything was wrong either, but had a pretty serious tone.

The score for Downs was in the 700s... that sounded ok to me, but now looking at other people's scores I'm definitely feeling score envy.... still, I guess it doesn't really matter how high your score is as long as you're not the '1', right? Or should I be stressing?

I got the feeling that the Doctor was expecting us to stress... maybe I should have done more research beforehand?!

Would be interested to hear what you guys think.

It's so great to hear all of your stories and what you're going through. V reassuring.
