OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Housemum · 27/06/2007 16:34

PBirdy - yes, Vicks is available in the UK - little blue pot, green lid. I quite fancy that now - I have some baby Vicks left from one of my freebie Bounty packs with DD2, maybe that will be nearly as good.

nicky6 · 27/06/2007 16:37

naetha - your dream made me laugh out loud.

when you say i need to start sleeping on my side soon - how soon are we talking?? i was actually considering cutting a whole into the mattress so any growing bump could go in there and i could still get to sleep on my tummy - but maybe that is a bit extreme.

i do remember sleeping on my back after i had the gallbladder op but then i was drugged - probably not a good alternative at the moment - although tempting some days!

Angechica · 27/06/2007 16:39

Apparently we can't lie on our backs after 20 wks?

I cried in the office today, it was mortifying. A colleague had a real right-wing rant about such things as asylum seekers ruining the country and i got so upset about it i was actually sobbing. I have felt terrible since, particularly as it's something really not worth getting upset about as you can't change a bigot's mind can you?

nicky6 · 27/06/2007 16:43

poor you - and at least it might make them aware how unreasonable and unacceptable their views are.

not nice for you though - i hope they go home feeling really mean.

PBirdy · 27/06/2007 17:18

Oh Angechica - the person at your work sounds like an idiot. That said, I cried while I was watching Theres something about Raymond the other night. Tragic

BeckyAu · 27/06/2007 17:47

Hi Ladies... so glad I'm not the only one having crazy dreams. I got out of bed the other night to pick up all the leaflets that were all over the floor. Of course there were no leaflets. But then I also dreamed I was (sorry tmi alert) getting jiggy (for want of a better word) with Alan Sugar. Yeuw, not a great dream. How come it wasn't Daniel Craig?!!

ayrshirelolo · 27/06/2007 21:32

Ah! glad the vivid dream thing is not just me! Last night i woke up DH by passing him what i though was a jar or bottle, and saying "darling, can you open this for me?!" He was reasonably nice about it (if it had been me getting woken by his weird dream chats i'd have given him dogs abuse!) but every night there seems to be something really vivid.... would like a jiggy one with Daniel Craig, or Johnny Depp... anyone got any ideas how to guarantee one of them instead of supermarket shopping or other boring stuff?
crap meals for toddlers - tin of Asda veggie sausages with spaghetti and frozen peas or corn, completely nil nutritional value but my dd loves it!Same with fish fingers and baked beans, fruit for pudding. I'm such a bad mummy!

Naetha · 27/06/2007 22:08

I'm absolutely loving the vivid dreams everyone is having - I'm am so glad I'm not the only one!

On a seperate note, and one that should probably be filed under panicking about random twinges... I keep on getting a twinge of pain in I guess my cervix when I bend over or pick something up. It feels like something pushing down on it. I'm guessing thats exactly what it is, but does everyone else get this too? I don't mind the abdominal twinges so much, but twinges half way up my "bits" makes me a bit more worried about something popping out!

MamaMaiasaura · 27/06/2007 22:10

I got fed tonight by my friend

Gingeme - ds1 is blonde altho is darkening a bit (has some red in it, I think he will have a red beard). By exp. My DP has black hair and green eyes and his grandmother was indian. No idea what this little one will look like

Betty mamma - I say is the bvaby farting too

gingeme · 27/06/2007 22:11

We had yummy fish cakes and waffles for dinner today. Actualy I just had the waffles couldnt stomach the fish cakes. Pasta and tuna and mayo is quick and easy too especialy if you over boil the pasta a little. Maybe chuck in some sweet corn too. Jacket potatoe and cheese. Thats no coking only 8 mins in the microwave and a bit of marge and cheese on top. Filling and nutricious. In fact thats what well have tommorrow.

gingeme · 27/06/2007 22:13

Neatha bend your knees rather than your back. Its just things stretching and softening. Getting ready to accomodate your ever growing bean

Naetha · 27/06/2007 23:05

Thanks Gingeme - I know I should bend my knees - its nearly always when I bend over to stroke the cats!

Incidentally, for any of you that have been pondering any ladygarden maintenance in the run up to labour and all that, there's an excellent thread about it here.

I absolutely PMSL about it, straining my tummy muscles even more in the process!

BeckyAu · 28/06/2007 07:47

Naetha - So glad you brought up the ladygarden thing! I thought I was the only one who considered it! I am a light redhead (there seem to be lots of redheads here ) and really don't want to leave everything au naturale for months. Not plucked like a chicken you understand, but certainly neat. I did say to DH that when I had a bump I couldn't see past it would be up to him to trim but he pulled a face at me that told me he thought this was far beyond husbandly duties!Hmmmm... dear oh dear there are so many things to think about these days. And there was I just thinking all I had to do was grow a baby . Hope everyone's day is lovely xx

gingeme · 28/06/2007 08:32

Your welcome Neatha. Three pieces of advice that have always stuck with me from my mw's bend your knees not your back, lay on your side then swing your legs out of bed to get up and dont scream while your pushing in labour because all you get is a sore throat
Right off for my booking in appt now. Have a good day all. x

Naetha · 28/06/2007 09:24

Hope you have a good booking in appointment Gingeme

beller · 28/06/2007 10:22

Gingeme- good lukc with the booking appt!

Nicky6- i used to sleep on my front, but had some back problem after a fall skiing, I went to a chirporactor who said its sooooo bad sleeping on your front ( well everything we find comfortable/nice/easy is), so took a while , but now sleep on my back or side, I have found a tempa matress helped as well...as it molds around you,and you move less?

ayreshirlolo- With my sleep disorder, my dreams are really vivid, but i find i will dream about what I have on my mind, or what I have watched before going to bed....So maybe watch daniel Craig in james bond...and who knows!

Im off to see Snow PAtrol tonight, cant wait...but reckon I will be tired, as I have to be up at 5 tomorrow...but at least its friday!

Hope everyone is well today xx

katyt1 · 28/06/2007 10:38

Been feeling really rough this week. Woke up with boil on lip and what looks like conjunctivitis. Yesterday was very uncomfortable walking around the shops as had tummy and uterus pains (like a pulling sensation) Still no interest in food. Good news about your scan lilyloo

goingfor3 · 28/06/2007 12:07

I can buy food now, we have our new fridge/freezer and our food spoilage money arrived this morning!

plummymummy · 28/06/2007 12:30

Yay. Get lots of icecream

Housemum · 28/06/2007 13:09

Back from scan - all OK. My guess is this one must be male as all it wanted to do was roll over and show us its back! Camera-shy unlike it's sister! Bloods and nuchal fold measurements done, so if I hear nothing within 7 days all is OK and I just get the results in 2 weeks at my next appt with the MW. Saw arms & legs waving and heart beating so am happier now. Can't wait to feel movements - was round about 14/15 weeks lst time so any day now. Dates look OK at 14+1 so due date confirmed.
