PBirdy - me too. Am feeling very grumpy and sorry-for-myself. Would normally console myself with large amounts of red wine or port, obviously can't and hot Ribena is OK but not the same. Baby probably has a headache from all the bloody sneezing. Humph.

Have scan tomorrow and thinking about that isn't helping as I keep thinking of all the awful things they could say. i was blubbing when I read Birdseed's news.

Am tucking into v large plate of stuff from the Sainsbury salad bar - I'm sure you are not supposed to have pre-done salads but I don't care as I can't be bothered even to make a sandwich! Large slice of pork-and-egg pie from the deli counter with it.

Moan, grumble, moan....

plummymummy · 27/06/2007 13:11

Good luck with scan housemum. I can't be bothered to cook/prepare food either. I feel awful as ds hasn't had a proper home cooked meal in a week (granted he has his main meal at nursery 3 days a week, but still)just rice, oven fish etc. I hope I snap out of it by the time we get back from hols.

MamaMaiasaura · 27/06/2007 13:13

Naetha · 27/06/2007 13:53

Best of luck with the scan Housemum

Had a really odd night last night - I woke up in the middle of the night with a start, as I'd dreamed that there were snakes in the room. Then I saw a lizard (it was orange) climbing up the walls of my bedroom. I woke DH up and shouted at him for bringing a lizard into the room, only I couldn't say lizard, and called it a laser instead. I then blinked and the lizard had vanished...

Now I was very much awake at this point, it definitely happened (DH remembers being woken up), but obviously the whole lizard climbing up the wall wasn't there. I was just trying to work out if I was seeing things that weren't there while awake (slightly worrying) or whether I was still asleep, but physically awake enough to be saying things and waking my DH up (not quite so worrying).

Very bizarre. Anyone else had really weird stuff like this happen to them?

Also I think my internal "bits" have moved around - I'm no longer peeing every half hour and three times a night which is an absolute blessing!

plummymummy · 27/06/2007 13:54

Stop watching those fantasy programmes

LilyLoo · 27/06/2007 14:02

good luck for tommorrow housemum will be keeping my fingers crossed for both of us. At least i haven't too long to wait as it's at 9.15 am so don't have all day to get worked up about it. How about you ?

goingfor3 · 27/06/2007 14:09

Naetha - I get really vivid dreams like that in pregnancy. They really feel real though and can be quite frightening. I'm sure they get worse the further along you get!

Housemum · 27/06/2007 14:19

Lilyloo - mine's 11.40, so not too bad. Will be glad when tomorrow comes though - can't see me having a good night's sleep tonight! (Again, it's the vivid dreams that wake me up - wasn't so bad the other night when I was Dr Who's assistant , but last night I dreamt I was organising a sale in the community centre where everyone was queing outside and there was nothing on the tables!)

LilyLoo · 27/06/2007 14:19

lol at the dreams i think i'm just to exhausted to even dream !

Bettymamma · 27/06/2007 14:23

Good luck Lilyloo and Housemum.

Naetha - I had a giant cockroach on the floor of my bedroom the size of my shoe (it was my shoe) a couple of nights ago!

plummy - cooking whats cooking? My dd has been having frankfurter pasta with tinned sweetcorn for quite a few meals now. (nothing involves much effort for this meal!) Thank god my mother lives round the corner.

I'm hoping not to catch your cold. Just went out and had an eat all you can chinese buffet. I now look 6 months pg and in severe need of a kip.

Awen - you're a red head - I never imagined,. It's bizarre how you imagine what people look like on this. I look like Heidi Klum (NOT AT ALL).

Gingeme - I saw programme about lady in the city. It made me so angry because in some ways it reminded me of this place. grrr!

nicky6 · 27/06/2007 14:24

thank goodness i dont ever dream i would frighten myself to death.

I normally sleep on my tummy and find it almost impossible to sleep on my side or back - i am thinking this could be a problem in weeks to come as already my boobs are becoming a bit uncomfortable at times to sleep on.

Suffereing with terrible wind - burping all the time sory tmi - my husband says it sounds like he married a cow!!!

plummymummy · 27/06/2007 14:31

Oh good that makes me feel better bettymamma Yuk - cockroaches.

LilyLoo · 27/06/2007 14:32

Nicky that was one of the first things i looked forward to after having the dc's, sleeping on my stomach it was bliss albeit broken sleep with a new baby.
Just bought myself some smock type t shirts, thank god for them is all i can say. My pants are now starining but yesterday i managed to get my skinny jeans on with an elastic bobble thread through the button hole and a smock top.
It's a nightmare this in between stage when your own clothes don't fit and your maternity stuff is too big.

Bettymamma · 27/06/2007 14:36

nicky 6 - you need to sleep very soon on your side (kind of leaning towards your front) with a pillow between your legs. Noone told me about the pillow between the legs thing until I was really pregnant and I don't know why but it makes things so much comfier. Just a normal pillow will do.

plummymummy and anyone else -pls feel free to share their tips for rubbish easy meals for toddlers that will avoid me feeling sick! Thank god she eats a lot of fruit!

If I burp or fart I say its the baby. Its more endearing I think.

gingeme · 27/06/2007 14:51

Lol at your dreams I have mega vivid dreams preg or not. I have a couple of dream interpretation books which I find fascinating. I have some realy sexy dreams too which realy pisses dh off as Im not into sex one iota at the mo
Have never been able to sleep on my front but sleep on my left hand side which is the best way to sleep while your preg as it helps the placenta to work.I bought some of those smock tops at the weekend too. I have got a couple of maternity trousers off Ebay and a pair of maternity dungarees. Sod it why not
Awen is this your first bean? Do you think it will have ginger hair? My first two ds's (my ex has dark hair) are dark and kinda mousy brown but both my ds's from my dh have ginger hair but then my mil and sil both are ginger.
Yet none of my sil's dc have ginger hair

Bettymamma · 27/06/2007 14:55

sex - whats that? I did have a dream I did it with the 80yr old neighbour. Eurghh.

beller · 27/06/2007 15:04

Dreams are really weird!! I dreamt last night that I had a baby girl with 1 arm?! At least I know babybel has 2 arms

Naetha- I have slept better for the last 2 nights, and have been getting up less, lets hope its a sign of the times! x

PBirdy · 27/06/2007 15:44

Housemum - Thank you for suggesting hot ribena. I have not had that since I was about 5 years old but when I read it, it sounded really appealing. I am also seriously considering buying myself some Vicks rub - do they have that in england? Eucalyptus smelling in a little blue pot?

As for sex - clearly as I am contemplating Vicks there is v little of that going down in our house at the moment either! The new little twist of having a cold as well has not helped matters.

That said, I am also having very very racy dreams some nights - started about a week or so ago. Have not had any reptile visions though - scary!

Plummy - I am the same with cooking. I used to love to cook and now I can't be bothered. My latest non-effort is to buy a quiche from Marks and Spencer and "make" a salad by buying a bag of those salad leaves and throwing some on a plate. I realise that Tescos is cheaper than M&S but I am literally so exhausted by the end of the day when I am getting dinner stuff on the way home that I can't be bothered with the crowds.

Hopeless.

As I say, I am just trying to keep my head above water until the glowing stage.

Naetha · 27/06/2007 15:46

I'm so glad I'm not the only one having really odd dreams! I had another one the other night as well, where I had problems with my pregnancy so my FIL took over (he looks about 8 months pregnant!) and gave birth to a lovely baby boy, the only problem with which had facial hair already! Bizarrely, they they exchanged him with another child who was actually 3 years old (and italian ) and who was meant to pretend to be a newborn so he could be adopted....was very odd.

I know other peoples dreams are meant to be as interesting as other peoples' pets, but I think its fascinating the things that our brains come up with!

PBirdy · 27/06/2007 15:46

assuming the glowing stage exists

PBirdy · 27/06/2007 15:47

naetha - that dream cracked me up. Gosh, if only DH could "take over" from the pregnancy for a day like in your dream!

I feel like I am whinging a lot today - I blame it on the cold - sorry!

Naetha · 27/06/2007 16:04

I think the whole "glowing" thing is a ruse set up by the government to up the birth rate. I bet there's a secret government organisation that wires 20p to your bank account every time you mention it or write about it on MN.

Its a conspiracy!

gingeme · 27/06/2007 16:06

The world definately wouldnt be over crowded if men did the pregnancy bit. Its bad enough when they get a cold
