Oh goingfor3 - thats good news. I thought I was going mad and dh told me I must be imagining it but I CAN feel it!

I hope your stitch goes well. Is it a difficult/long operation? I've just looked up free birthing after you mentioned it. That sounds a little mad!

beller · 26/06/2007 11:39

bettymamma- great scan!!! sounds like beany is really comfortable in there eh!! Welcome to the second trimester!! I honestly thought i could feel a flutter when i woke the other morning..but as im not sure what it feels like..might not have been!

Goingfor3- sounds a nightmare, I would have definately lost my patience!!Good luck with the stitch xx

MamaMaiasaura · 26/06/2007 11:42

Had my scan today absolutely amazing! Bean was bouncing around, kept moving completely round, trying to suck thumb and looked like it managed it once. Had to go in twice to try and shift little bean into better position. Re-dated me and measured 13+1 so another new year baby. Makes sense as matches my dates better (when I have ewcm etc). They saw beans nose bone(?) which is a positive indicator as often down syndrome children do not have this. Nuchal fold within normal parameter but need to wait for bloods too.
My ds kept hugging me, he thought it was amazing and kept saying wowo and 'i love you mummy'. DP was quiet and overwhelmed a bit. He thought it was really cool how much detail you could see and much more real it all feels.
THe hospital will tell us if girl or boy at 20 weeks, she would have looked now but would perefer to wait and also think more if I really want to know. My 20 week is 15th August. Glad everyone elses scans have gone well. I was so stressed out by this one that am shattered from relief of it.

Am on such a high tho! Does this mean I am in second trimester now? and yay.

bettymama & Imawurzel - that means we are due date buddies

VP · 26/06/2007 12:32

YAY!!!!! scan went well, baby is fine, in the right place with a good strong heartbeat. Apparently the unit I went to scan approx 400 women per month for early pg bleeding, it's unreal how common it is

MamaMaiasaura · 26/06/2007 12:34

Fab VP is such a relief for you xx

beller · 26/06/2007 12:52

Yayyyyy for Awen and Vp.....really pleased

I have just booked a holiday with my best mate! We are going to Lake Garda for a week in July!! Cant wait, very excited about it...nice relaxing week with nice food, sunshine and good company!
Sorry rambling!
xx

MamaMaiasaura · 26/06/2007 13:00

Sounds absolutely lovely. we are going ot wales for 2 weeks in July/august - hope the waether improves!

gingeme · 26/06/2007 13:10

More briliant scans.
Seems to be flying now doesnt it(not).
Thankyou for filling me on your stitch goignfor3. Did you have to have it done before with your other dc?

Bettymamma · 26/06/2007 13:19

Lovely news Awen and VP!

Awen thats fantastic news that you are my due date buddy! We were ttc buddies as well. Fabulous. I have always seemed to follow similar symptoms to you. Has the nausea improved? Mine was doing overtime in the night.

Beller - my mate has just told me its far too early to feel anything but she didn't feel her ds until 19 weeks and I felt dd at 15 weeks. I think it depends on where it is and how hard it can kick but I can definitely feel something now and then. Lake Garda - ohhh I'm jealous. You deserve the rest!

MamaMaiasaura · 26/06/2007 13:23

bettymamma - almost forget that were were on the ttc thread together We do seem to follow eachothers symptoms. Nausea still there although food has staved it off today. Def worse in evening. I keep feeling fluttery feelings and after seeing bean bouncing around today I wouldnt be surprised if it was bean (that or really bad wind ) I actually dreamt I had fart powers the other night.

plummymummy · 26/06/2007 14:10

LOL - I think I have fart powers. So much flatulance the past few days. I think it's the curry I ate 3 days in a row. It's the first non-bland thing I've felt like eating and now I am suffering for it. Also still have terrible headaches (I do sympathise Beller). Had to take 3 paracetamol yesterday, one in the morning, then when no improvement I took 2 at night. Woke up with another one. Don't remember this with ds. I have a scan date - 18th July. I will be 12+4 by my dates and 11+4 by the hospital's. I know gingeme has to have another one as not much to see at 11 weeks, I suppose the same might happen to me. Congrats to all who have had scans recently - seems to be a huge spate of them at the moment as most of you are reaching the 11-13 week stage.

nicky6 · 26/06/2007 14:15

naetha - poor you - fancy them not realising. Options dont sound too great and i agree with you that leaving it is probably the worst of the three - as my consultant said before i had mine removed, if we plan to do it then its a very straightforward procedure and we are in control, if you wait until we are forced to do it then it becomes a complicated procedure that is more risky!!!

If you can do it with proper anaesthetic with no harm to the little one i would, i had quite a lot of morphine afterwards too makes you very nice and sleepy.

I am worried that because i had problems undiagnosed for 5 years with my appendix and gall bladder before they were both removed that the massive scar tissue build up i have inside is going to mean there is no space to grow - i am rambling more paranoia.

Good news on all scans - being down the bottom of the list makes it feel that the scan is a zillion weeks away!!

plummymummy · 26/06/2007 14:22

Nicky according to the early scan I had I am not due til 3rd Feb so later than you if it's any comfort. I am sticking with my dates until the nuchal scan

MamaMaiasaura · 26/06/2007 14:24

good thing to do plummy as my date before we around 31st Dec then was changed to 5 Jan by hosp cos of early early scan but I think it is more accurate at this stage to date.

nicky6 · 26/06/2007 14:34

thanks - problem is by my own dates i think possibly 7th feb but i have to be patient - not one of my strong points.

then again i find the whole working out when thing very tricky given that they give you a few weeks for free at the beginning - do you think thats because they know how the time drags and they thought they would find a way to make us feel better???? or just to confuse???????????

PBirdy · 26/06/2007 14:37

Hello all

This is such a busy thread that I did not have time to read it all. Congrats to everyone on the good scans - yay! I got my blood results back and the odds were good so we went public with the news last Friday (family already knew and a few friends I couldn't resist).

I was then sick yesterday - more tired than sick but I just couldn't face work. Anyway, today has been lovely so far with lots of emails from home (Australia) flooding in with nice congrats etc - it is lots of fun telling people.

I am keen to hear more about the dealcoholised wine - that sounds great! I have been having the odd glass if we go out for dinner etc but nothing otherwise during the week. I don't miss it at all which is strange.

Good luck for everyone with operations coming up - gosh, it must be difficult to focus on that as well. Hope all goes well.

goingfor3 - I cannot believe your mid-wife story - I would have burst into tears if I was confronted with her - your experience must make you more patient!

Headaches - I had bad headaches for quite a few days about 2 weeks ago. I couldn't figure out if they were tension headaches or because it was warm weather where I was or what. Anyway, I took paracetamol. Apparently it is safe. They went after a few days. My thinking is that if you have a headache take paracetamol which is safe to use. The stress of coping with the headache is probably worse than the drugs. That is only my thinking though, and I understand that others want to be cautious about what they take.

PBirdy XX

Bettymamma · 26/06/2007 14:50

Fart Powers - sounds like a superhero in the making Awen.

nicky6 - i like to think they've been kind and given us those first free weeks to help time pass.

plummymummy and Beller - pg headaches are the worse. Drink plenty of water (I sound like my mum!)

plummymummy · 26/06/2007 14:50

I think you are right Pbirdy - I am a nightmare to live with when I have headaches as I don't usually get them so don't have much tolerance for them iyswim. Sorry to hear you were feeling rough. I am off work atm and we're off to France at the weekend so that's something nice to look forward to. I still find that the time drags a lot. It is progressing much slower than my first pregnancy.

plummymummy · 26/06/2007 14:52

Yes I'm trying to drink plenty of water but it's so filling and I find my stomach gets full v quickly atm.

Bettymamma · 26/06/2007 15:14

Water makes me feel sick as well. Just plain weird. When are we all going to feel great again!

plummymummy · 26/06/2007 15:57

So sad to hear birdseed had a missed m/c and didn't find out til 12 week scan

Bettymamma · 26/06/2007 16:05

no plummy! where did you hear that. That's awful.

plummymummy · 26/06/2007 16:05

mummyto2princesses - you have great taste. My ds name is Kian

plummymummy · 26/06/2007 16:06

Betty it was on the m/c thread. I have since noticed that spud discreetly amended the list but I went in with my size 9s. I think she did say she didn't mind if we knew.
