Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
nicky6 · 19/06/2007 15:50

thanks goingfor3 - i will give them a call and check what the situation is

plummymummy · 19/06/2007 16:38

typical gingeme. I hate it when that happens. I love the way dh's can sleep at will? I always ask if he minds if I nap (if ds is awake)whereas dh just nods off!

Thanks Scorpio

Awen - your ds is a tad accident prone methinks. Glad he is ok.

It's ds birthday tomorrow. He will be 3

Hoping all going ok with beller's scan

Bettymamma · 19/06/2007 16:45

oh lovely gingeme - I hope you took advantage of the sleeping household. If you have another boy you wil have to call it Bob to keep everyone happy!

Nicky6 - am sure I read the other day that from 1 June all hospitals in UK now do the nuchal fold test at the 11-13 week scan. I think I read it on this thread. Phone them anyway I think.

I'm off food as well but not vomiting. I just can't cook with raw meat - can't go near the stuff and haven't for 7 weeks. I feel so lazy but it makes me wretch!

Lilyloo - Rennie's been good for me if you want a change from Gaviscon!

Bettymamma · 19/06/2007 16:45

Good luck with ds birthday tomorrow plummy. Doing anything nice? Are you having a party - if so I wish you lots of energy!

Lozza70 · 19/06/2007 16:46

Hi everyone and thanks ever so much for your messages. You will be glad to know DH has been an absolute wonder and is really looking after me and getting me back on my feet. Glad to read about the successful scans and I wish all of you the best.

gingeme · 19/06/2007 17:05

What you trying to say Bettymama
Everyone awake now. Have to go shopping soon(yawn) still dh cooking dinner tonight. Its his turn
Lozza flad your feeling ok. Good on your dh too. He sounds lovely. Please take care.

gingeme · 19/06/2007 17:06

Oh plummy what are you doing for your ds's birthday?
My was 3 in April and we had a party at Clown Town. Hope it all goes well whatever you do. Happy Birthday little man

goingfor3 · 19/06/2007 17:12

plummymummy - DD's birthday is tommorow too! June 20th is obviuolsy a good day as I know another little girl who also has her birthday on the smae day.

gingeme - did you go to the clown town in colney hatch lane. DP used to take DD there while I went shopping in Tesco. We live a ferw minute walk away fron the one in Palmers green which was okay but the other one is much bigger and better or at leasy was 3 years ago!

PBirdy · 19/06/2007 17:27

To those with the terrible morning sickness (well, all day vomiting or whatever you know what I mean), it really does seem to get a bit better by week 12. I am not completely over it but the all day nausea thing has passed. I couldn't cook for quite a few weeks and had the most bizzare issues with food I usually love. I am sure the "already mums" will probably say the same thing.

As for the "already mums", I don't really know how you do it. My biggest problem at the moment is the tube, but once I have gotten home, I just sink onto the couch and barely move. BWMum, I think we were talking before about the tube - I actually rubbed my belly under my coat this morning (pretending to have a proper bump) so that people might think I was pregnant and get the hint. I got the big ignore. I still haven't gotten up the guts to actually say something aloud.

beller · 19/06/2007 17:33

Hi Everyone-
Just back from my scan and i feel sooooo emotional,in a good way. Such a good scan, got really clear pics...Babybel put on a bit of a show, waved, kicked his/her foot and turned to face us!!! Was totally amazing...you could see the heart, fingers , toes etc...all so clear! She then went round and showed me the stomach, brain etc....totally awesome! She took the nuchal fold and said the fluid was in normal range, but they take it against blood and age as well. I had the bloods done today and have an appt for 16 weeks. I am officially due on the 28th dec, so there we go!!!
Thanks for all the best wishes....i feel very protective over my tummy now, and cant stop staring at the pics!!!
Good luck to everyone with scans this week
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

PBirdy · 19/06/2007 17:42

yay beller for the fab scan. I still can't get over that you saw fingers and toes!

so exciting

BWMum · 19/06/2007 17:46

Congrats Beller - your scan sounds wonderful! It must have been amazing to be able to see so much of your LO .

PBirdy - can just imagine you rubbing your no-bump! I'm sure it won't be too long before we're all huge and people still won't offer us a seat... I found out the other day that South West Trains offer free first class travel for expectant mums - Barristermum, that might be useful for you if you're up and down to the coast a lot? You can apply here .

MamaMaiasaura · 19/06/2007 18:31

Beller what a fab scan

plummy - me thinks you are right re accident prone

Am being tortured right now with the bloody night garden. It is crazy, pacca maccas flying machine sounds like it has a wind problem.

nicky6 · 19/06/2007 18:59

Beller congrats on yur scan sounds amazing . Well taking going for 3 advice i rang the hospital but having waited for 15 minutes got bored and re read the stuff they sent me, I think they do give you the N/T as long as you are between 10-14 weeks and I will be 12 wks 3 at the time so hopefully that should count me in.

WHat an excellent thing to know about the trains - i do the same job and although mainly based in london - it is still quite a big place will check out your link.

Barristermum - really sympathise with you having to travel - i was in court of appeal last week only good thing was i was worrying as much about not being sick as what a scary place it is!!.

gingeme · 19/06/2007 19:34

Thats realy great Beler made me all teary. In a nice way you understand.
Goingfor3 no we had his party in the Palmers Green one as we only invited his friends from his pre school and a few family kids so would have been too much in the Colney Hatch one. Where are you having your baby then? Im booked in to North Middlesex Hospital. Thats where I had ds3. A water birth which was fab. I know Palmers Green well.

efmc · 19/06/2007 20:06

oh wow! thank you all for your lovely welcome messages.

it's wonderful to be among other women who are pregnant and expecting at around the same time as me. hubbie chats about it, but obviously has his limits for talking about 'bump' (not quite a bump yet!!

i feel honoured to be part of this thread xxxx

by the way... hope it's not me having the twins... is it 12 weeks the first scan? 4 weeks to go to find out if it's me!!!!

i'm excited that it's my first mw apointment on friday - it all feels a bit surreal at the moment

goingfor3 · 19/06/2007 21:09

gingeme - we don;'t live there any more but when we did I had my DD's at the Whittington as I worked there when I had DD1. Now I havfe to go to a different hospital and I find it quite scary as I had an amazing consultant who knew me very well. I had consultant led care with both of my girls and I really don't know if the consultant at the hospital I am having this one at will be as good. I find out on Tuesday as I have an appointment with him and also my 12 week scan.

efmc · 19/06/2007 21:12

itchy legs... is this a common pregnancy complaint? i've scratched my legs red raw in a couple of places

gingeme · 19/06/2007 22:17

goingfor3 I had my ds3 at North Midd and ds4 at home but with the same midwife team each time and they were fantastic. In fact the mw wasnt suprised to hear from me when I rang again to say about this one
efmc yes it is common. I used Eurax cream on mine and it was very good. If not ask your gp to recomend something for you. Hope its sorted soon.

Housemum · 19/06/2007 23:26

efmc - you've got me itching now! Think mine was linked to having my legs waced a couple of days ago but you've got me wondering now!

I'm lucky as I usually travel off-peak but am considering what witty remarks I might try using to get a train/tube seat - it's really strange, though, that people are happy to help you with a child in a pushchair, but not to help a pregnant woman. DD2 and I often go up to London and I still take a pushchair (she's 4) as there is usually a lot of walking involved. Almost every time someone offers to help carry her upstairs, before I thank them and point out that she will actually walk (because I'm not carrying the other half of her and the buggy!). Yet I remember going to London when I was pregnant with her and hardly ever being offered a seat - perhaps people are just scared they might be offering a seat to a fat woman by mistake who will then lamp them for being cheeky??

plummymummy · 20/06/2007 08:05

Happy birthday to your LO Goingfor3 We woke ds up, sang happy birthday to him, got him dressed, then we went downstairs so he could open his present - a bike. He was SO excited - rode it up and down the hallway. He's gone to nursery half day then we're picking him up and taking him to a play area local to us, then off to visit the grandmothers. He's having a party on saturday which I will def need energy for as loads of people are coming.

Beller - so pleased to hear about your scan Huge difference between the early ones and the 12 week one - so much more to see with the nuchal.

Hi everyone else Where is Mrs McJnr - haven't heard from her for a while.

Hi Lozza - so glad your dh is being so lovely. Times like this can make your relationship even stronger. Glad you are getting your strength back x

beller · 20/06/2007 08:17

thanks everyone..Ex even called after to see how it all went...progress!
Good luck to all other scan this week, enjoy!
xx

flamingnora · 20/06/2007 08:38

Morning all!

Today I woke up not feeling sick at all! This is obviously progress, but then there's always a voice in the back of your mind telling you that maybe it's a bad sign?!
I am suffering a lot with tiredness and finding it pretty hard to focus like I need to in meetings at work (and I have a big conference next week, which I am truly dreading!)
I would also love to know where I can get hold of some button extenders - hope I haven't just missed out on where to get them?!

BeckyAu · 20/06/2007 08:40

Good morning all!

Blegh!.... I feel so sick this morning and I'm supposed to be meeting a friend for lunch so have put Sea Bands on and am hoping it goes away!

Well I seem to be surrounded with scan appointments! The NHS one is next Monday (can't wait!!! Beller's sounded great!) then there's a private one the week after (tho don't know if that's necessary?) and this morning have the appt for the 20week one at the end of August. All very exciting.

Beller - am so glad your ex called. Looks like he's starting to get his head round it all. I hope he's some support for you. Fingers crossed!

I hope you ll have a great day and are feeling good this morning xxx

BeckyAu · 20/06/2007 08:51

Flamingnora - I've seen the button extenders you're after in a local haberdashery shop so somewhere that sells sewing threads and accessories like that should stock them. But then... for £3.29 look what I found!
www.sewessential.co.uk/Search.asp?SearchStrin g=trouser&NumPerPage=5&page=4
I hope that helps
