gingeme · 17/06/2007 10:48

awen 'flew up his nose'. Hahaha.
dh is at work so his presants will have to come later. Shame realy hes been on holiday for 2 weeks and today is his first day back.
I was up at 5am being sick. I wasnt this bad before with my other pg's well except my first one and that was classic 12 weeks of ms then 6 months of heartburn
Names for girls we have Lilyloo as weve been waiting for a girl the past two pg's. We like Amy May Patricia. May being dh's Nans name and Patricia is my middle name and mil's name and sil's middle name too. Totaly stuck on boys names. Think weve used them all up

Naetha · 17/06/2007 15:22

We've got a girl's name sorted out, but I'm pretty sure I'm having a boy - my body hair is growing at an alarming rate, as well as the fact I'm not craving sweet things. We have a few ideas for boys, but its such a trial finding one you like that isn't in the top 20 or so most popular boys names, but then also doesn't make the lad sound like a chav or a car!

Either way we're going to give it a Welsh middle name (as that's where I'm from) and thats also proving to be a trial!

We're keeping any names we decide on secret so we don't have to go through the whole "oh I went to school with someone called * he was a total..." or "isn't that more of a dog's name?"

We'd love to call a boy Max, unfortunately one of our cats is called that, so although I love the name, it may have to be put on hold!

mummyto2littleprincess · 17/06/2007 16:59

we have picked the name we like
jayden for a boy and libby or liberty for a girl dont know which one yet my dd1 want to call it chloe if girl im hoping its a boy

katyt1 · 17/06/2007 17:12

we've decided on mary for a girl, had it decided on last time so sticking with it. i agree that boys names are really hard. we didn't want tom last time because thomas is so popular but couldn't come up with anything else!
everything we think of is either a close friend or relative or pet!!
dh has mentioned hamish but i'm not sure he's serious
he thinks we're having twins (no reason, no history) and if it is a boy & a girl i've agreed to hamish and mary....oh well, i'll be worried about other stuff than names if he's right!

got rumbled earlier and asked if i was pg, just lied and said no! will apologise in a few weeks but only 8 weeks today and it's not someone i know that well. can't believe she asked really

right, still feeling icky, burpy, etc....no sickness tho i suppose i shd be grateful!

Naetha · 17/06/2007 17:53

Completely off topic here, but just tought I'd say we've just bought a new motorbike and its verrrrrry sexy! Unfortunately, I'm probably not going to get much riding in over the next couple of years or so, but I can dream!

Picture here: img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/Naetha/er-6f.jpg

I'll shut up now, I'm just really excited - I've wanted a proper bike since I was teeny tiny, and its nice to finally get one, even if I can't really ride it!

gingeme · 17/06/2007 19:44

Ooh no I can feel your excitement Neatha. Never realy been into motorbikes. Have been on a couple a few times and I think theyre pretty yummy too enjoy

fruitful · 17/06/2007 19:44

Well if craving sweet things is a sign of carrying a girl, then I'm carrying a girl. Dh got given a toblerone today and he has hidden it cos he knows I will eat it if I find it!

Haven't really thought about names - I think we'll find out the gender at the 20wk scan so then we don't have to think of 2 names! Although they aren't always right are they.

Naetha am imagining your dh dashing you to the hospital in 6 months time with you riding pillion on the motorbike, but you're having to ride side-saddle to give your belly room ...

goingfor3 - how did the party go?

efmc · 17/06/2007 21:43

hello... everyone, can i join this thread?

xxxxxx

beller · 18/06/2007 08:06

welcome Nicky6!

Efmc- I had my midwife booking apt lat week..she took blood pressure etc...lots of forms and questions about health both sides of family etc....personal details....Then sent notes of to the hospital for a date for scan. Havnt got the date through yet, but as im either 12+2 today or 12 weeks on thur, hopefully it will be this week!

Names....
I like Daisy and Imogen for a girl...bit stuck on a boy...quite like Toby and Connor..but not sure?! Got a few months to think though!

Hope everyone is feeling ok this week xx

Naetha · 18/06/2007 08:53

Welcome EFMC, the booking in appointment is pretty much as Beller said - lots of questions about your medical history, other half's medical history and any family medical history. You'll probably have a few blood tests as well, although I think it varies from PCT to PCT.

There's an acronym list link at the top of the page which tells you all the commonly used acronyms on Mumsnet (of which there are many!). DH is dear husband, DS is dear son and DD is dear daughter usually

Hope everyone had a good weekend and (hah!) looking forwards to the week ahead! I'm dreading work at the moment - I seem incapable of holding anything together in my own life, let alone managing big projects and budgets!

MamaMaiasaura · 18/06/2007 08:58

argghhh I am no longer comfy in my jeans. After wearing lovely new maernity skirt yesterday tummy seems to have grown . Can do up jeans but the are uncomfortabe and sitting down is impossible unless i undo them! Not 12 weeks yet, thought I had another 4 weeks at least or is it a lot quicker with 2nd. So far 2 boys names and 1 girls. not telling tho

MamaMaiasaura · 18/06/2007 09:00

ds in the wars again he hurt his knee yesterday out with whole family (lots of kiddies) cant bear weight now. Drs at 11.

BeckyAu · 18/06/2007 09:25

Good morning everyone I hope you're all well? Though I see Awen has a busy start to the week taking DS to Dr - I hope everything's ok with him.

I had the most fantastic weekend in Spain - 2 lovely lovely friends took me to a beautiful hotel and we spent three days sitting by a gorgeous pool that we had to ourselves in the glorious sunshine (tho I was generally in the shade - soooooo hot!)and sitting in cafes by the marina people-watching.... I missed the wine but made up for it by eating for about 17 rather than 2 And bizarrely... with no work or stress and just relaxation to think about I had no sickness, nausea or any unpleasant symptoms at all... Not surprising really but it just goes to show we all need to be as kind to ourselves as possible though it is very difficult - especially for those running around after other little ones. But hugs to everyone xxx

MamaMaiasaura · 18/06/2007 09:37

becky solunds absolutely lovely. Very . Glad you are feeling so well, am sure my ds will be fine. He is laid on sofa wathcing CBBC and had nurofen, he will be fine.

goingfor3 · 18/06/2007 09:52

Morning everyone,

I hope all you ladies with bumps are well!

DD's party went really well. All the girls enjoyed themselves. I threw her cake in the bin and dp bought an M&S one on the way home from work. We met at the cinema then came back to my house. The film finished earlier than expected and they all ran back to my house so were there longer than I had planned but they had a great time and some didn't want to leave!

The new fridge should be comming in the next couple of days. Hopefully we will get some compensation as all of our freezer food is going to be ruined when they take the old one away as we need to leave the new one to stand and settle before plugging it in.

I am so hot and sweaty at the moment which must be down to my hormones and the extra work my body is doing. I found a lump in my armpit a couple of days ago and don't want to use any deodrant until I find out what it is. I have a doctors appointment this afternoon, hopefully it's just a cyst or something minor.

beller · 18/06/2007 10:06

Beckuau- your w/e sounds fab! what treatments di dyou have in the end?

Goingfor3- good luck at the docs, think I read somewhere, that all sorts of bumps and cysts can appear due to certain hormones feeding them...Thinking of you though, let us know how you get on xx

gingeme · 18/06/2007 10:27

Good morning everyone. Sounds like you had a good weekend.
especialy BeckyAu.
Glad your dd's party went off ok in the end Goingfor3.
Im sitting here with my acu bands on today feel a little sicky this morning.Im definately craving sweet things though Im not getting my hopes up. Ive heard too many old wives tales. Think Ill wait till my 20 week scan too.
Going for3 I often get a lump under my armpit just before my period, usualy just under my bra which makes it realy sore. I was told by my doc it is a hormonal thing. Let us know how you get on.
Welcome efmc ans congratulations

efmc · 18/06/2007 10:39

thanks for the acronym tip... i didn't even notice that was there - doh! i'm struggling to find my way around this site to be honest, i find it VERY confusing!

for the past few days have not been able to fasten the top button on my jeans... well, i can fasten it, but it hurts like hell, so i've been walking round with it undone. i'm only 7.5 weeks pg FFS!! my boobs still fit in my bras (am a 28f) but they're really sore and are defo looking larger and a different kinda shape.

still no ms for me... was wretching last night, but ended up not being sick, that's 3 times i've done that now, but am counting my lucky stars!

can't wait for the 12 week mark when i can finally tell people why i'm so bloomin tired and wanting time off work!!

MrsBiscuit · 18/06/2007 10:41

Morning,

I've just met my mw - very nice, but I didn't realise that the hospital I've chosen doesn't offer nuchal scans, and that I'll have to do it privately. And their antenatal 'course' is a one day session. Is that normal? I know a friend had recommended NCT but I was hoping not to have to fork out for the classes. Hey ho.

On a more positive side, DH and I went to see Muse at Wembley on Saturday, so the beany has had its first gig experience! Though sitting miles from the stage and drinking water wasn't exactly the usual sweaty rock experience.

Naetha, my dh loves his bikes - one is a bit like yours (same make, no idea about the model!) - I'm trying to break it to him gently that he may have to get rid of one of them to fund the new arrival. He's blocking his ears at the moment!

MamaMaiasaura · 18/06/2007 10:41

28f [ahock].. you made me feel better tho, am 34G havent gotten re-measured tho.

spud01 · 18/06/2007 10:56

goingfor3 · 18/06/2007 11:43

Lozza70 I'm really sorry to hear your sad news.

PBirdy · 18/06/2007 11:44

Dear All

I have just come back from a week of holidays and a quick scan of the list and am so so sad to hear the news from Skibump, teenagersagain and Lozza70. Oh no! Big hugs to you all!!!! I have no idea how difficult it must be for you all, but my thoughts and prayers are with you and I hope that you take the next few weeks and months slowly.

I had a bit of a scare while on holidays and woke up in the middle of the night to wee and there was blood on my pants, although nothing when I wiped (sorry if TMI). The blood was dark brown rather than red - don't know if that makes a difference? I was stressing badly, woke up poor DH to tell him - he also did not sleep a wink for the rest of the night. I changed my pants to a white pair so I could monitor - nothing there in the morning and nothing since. I am at nearly 12 weeks so it is very random indeed. Scan on Friday I don't know if I should call the doctor earlier or not. I felt ok about it but now feel very anxious after hearing of the others.

Have not read the list properly - so many messages in one week! I hope that everyone else is well
