Beller and Imawurzel - hope it is ok that I updated the roll call

Plummymummy - totally know what you mean about the shop run.. The other one I hear is that if you dont do 'x' you wont get a cigarette. I am looking forward to the other midwife coming round on Saturday tho.

I am 11 weeks tomorrow Still got ms and evening sickness too. Tummy is definately expanding now.

Has anyone thought about birth partners. Def want my dp but also want my mum, are we allowed more than one. My mum has been a completel support and is so excited by little bean. In last preg i didnt think to ask her along to antenatal appt or scans and nor did any of my 3 sisters. I would love to give her the opportunity to be really involved. I am completely loved up over my mum at the moment, feeling very close to her and this is a real bonding experience (we are close anyway). Apparantly I am 'glowing' at the moment too Dp commented on how happy I am, seem to be smiling loads.

Lozza70 · 15/06/2007 10:41

Hi all. I've been away for a few days. I'm just at 9 weeks this weekend and I'm at the feeling fat stage. Luckily I've had no sickness whatsoever but it does mean that I have been packing away food at an incredible rate. I've also become incredibly paranoid. With no recent evidence of actual preg apart from larger than ave tum I'm thinking my scan at 7 weeks was a figment of my imagination. They did tell me I was due on 17th Jan however so I have added myself to the list if that's okay.

I don't think it is helping that DH and I have decided not to tell anyone at all until after the nuchal scan which is not until the 5th July. I'm desperately avoiding making any commitments at work to dates as they are trying to pin me down to booking a trip to New York in September and 2 weeks in the Far East in October.

Excuse my ranting just needed to get it all off my chest

MrsBiscuit · 15/06/2007 11:12

Katy1 and Lozza, I feel the same as you in that I'm worried that my queasiness, hunger, tiredness and sore breasts are psychosomatic, and that I'm having a phantom pg. I have my first appt with MW on Monday so I'm hoping that it will make it seem a bit more real.

I had a nice dream the other night where I met the baby (sounds weird I know), but it made me more excited than I have been up till now.

Sorry to Skibump and Teenagers - my heart goes to you.

plummymummy · 15/06/2007 11:17

I haven't had much nausea either. It does make you worry but I'm glad my appetite has been ok I enjoy eating

beller · 15/06/2007 11:26

Pluumymummy - I have gone up 2 sizes already in my bra!! an dimonly 12 weeks eek! quite like them though

Awen - I have thought about birth partner, but have no idea really. My mum was killed when i was 21, and i must admit, i am realy missing her at the moment, she would have loved to have been there. Im sure my sisters would offer, and I also have a friend that is a Doula, not in my area, but might have a word with her....Think it will probably be my older sister though?

sabinar · 15/06/2007 11:26

Lozza70 - I know what you mean... except I haven't had a scan yet! Keep wondering if this is all just a figment of my imagination as I've been so well so far!

Having said that... I'm getting little stabby pains this morning. I haven't had any crampy feelings for a few weeks now. Wondering if this is more of the same or something more ominous....

I think I'll keep my fingers (and legs) crossed this morning that it just goes away.

plummymummy · 15/06/2007 11:33

sabinar - hope the pains go away. Beller I have gone up to a 38 from a 34. My boobs feel HUGE but I suppose to others they don't look as massive. V sorry to hear about your mum Good that you are close to your sisters I have a brother 5 yrs younger than me - not birth partner material. My dh will be with me. He was excellent at the birth of our ds. Though I love my mum dearly I wouldn't want her at the birth - would feel self-conscious as we're not close in that way iyswim.

gingeme · 15/06/2007 11:40

Thanks awen its not too bad now just a bit fat still. Felt like a cigarette burn. Not that I smoke just remember being at a party and being burnt on the hand.
Anyway my dh will be with me at the birth. With my first two ds's my ex partner wouldnt be with me as he was a bit squeamish so my Mum was with me for the first and I did the second with just the midwife. My other two with my new dh he was with me and cried both times. Silly sod. He was brilliant support for me and kept me laughing through most of it too which realy helped well most of the time.

plummymummy · 15/06/2007 11:47

Sorry about your bee sting

beller · 15/06/2007 11:49

im still a 34, but have gone from a B to a D!

plummymummy · 15/06/2007 11:52

I've gone from a D to a C

Lozza70 · 15/06/2007 12:47

Oh had not even though about birth partner have assumed DH will step into that role but given how squimish he is, I always have to clean up the cat sick, I'm not so sure now.

Sabinar try not to worry about the wee pains. I had those early on and still have the odd one and touch wood all is okay so far.

beller · 15/06/2007 13:43

anyone had "low stabbing pains" in their tummy first thing in the mng?? I woke up this mng in terible pain, and once last week as well.....might be connected to my constipation...did go after but wasnt "loose"....
Think im joining the worry gang, coming up to the 12 weeks period? Not that you stop after that i know....
xxxxxxx

sabinar · 15/06/2007 14:44

yep, beller - I know those stabby pains. Mine haven't been really bad, but I've had them on and off all morning. I'm at 10wks now so will well within the paranoid stage....

here's hoping everything is completely fine and it's just a bit of space making or something going on.

beller · 15/06/2007 14:46

mine were bad for abour 2 mins this morning...i was huddled over and coudlnt stand up properly, but then passed....fingers crossed x

Naetha · 15/06/2007 15:44

Had my 12-week scan today, and everything is A-OK!

I'm so relieved its unbelievable! Bean was very active, dancing around and everything, and been given a due date earlier than I expected so I am due on the 30th December now, and am officially 12 weeks tomorrow

I'm really glad DH was with me and got to see the whole thing - it has made it so much more real for both of us. We got two reasonably good pictures which is great as well. I think it was so much more of a big deal for us because we're first timers, so it was quite an emotional experience to see live pictures of not any old 12 week baby, but ours. Apologies for gushing!

Btw Sabinar - I have been (and still get) a few stabbing pains in my lower abdomen, especially in the morning. I think a lot of it is to do with your muscles relaxing overnight, then being strained when you use them first thing in the morning, especially when the first thing you do is sit yourself up. I get the same if I sneeze.

beller · 15/06/2007 16:14

Naetha- thats fab news...cant wait to get my scan date through...glad you got good pics, must be a relief and really emotional...good start to the weekend!! xxxx

plummymummy · 15/06/2007 16:28

Great news Naetha Re. stabbing pains - get sharp pain in tummy when change position in bed. Think tummy muscles must be buggered in pregnancy.

toomanyshoes · 15/06/2007 16:42

Hello,
Firstly, I'm was so sad to read about Skibump and Teenagersagain, can't imagine how you must be feeling

Hope the rest of you are well, great to hear about the positive scans! i have my nuchal on Monday and have now received an appointment for a dating scan next monday. Still heard nothing from midwife but not really bothered about it for some reason. Think it's because I felt most of my appointments felt like such a waste of time when I was pregnant with DD. Just peed in a pot, told them i felt fine and went away again! Never saw same person twice and totally different midwife when I gave birth. Seriously considering having this one at home but DH very anxious about it, will wait and see!

Had a great time in New York, lots of shopping as managed to convince myself that money in a foreign currency doesn't really count! had a bit more spotting but trying not to worry too much, roll on Mondays scan!!

katy, Lozza & Mrs Biscuit - i also keep worrying that i am imagining my symptoms and am not really pregnant, even though have already had an early scan, nice to know it's not just me!

Awen, i had DH and my mum at the birth last time which was lovely. It was great having my mum there to help me get showered and dressed afterwards as was very wobbly on my feet and meant DH had a bit of time with DD by himself which was so nice for him. I'm going to ask her to stay with DD this time though so I don't have to worry about her while I'm in labour!

Beller, i had loads of stabbing pains last time, it was just everything stretching. Nothing left to stretch this time though!!! Also, did you say earlier in thread that you come in to Liverpool Street on the train? I do too, keep finding myself gravitating towards Millies Cookies on the way home - not good for already expanding girth!

Hi to everybody else, hope you all have fab weekends! DH taking me to see Dirty Dancing tonight, am v excited x

sabinar · 15/06/2007 17:00

stabby mcstab pains seem to have subsided thank goodness.

I'm so jealous hearing about everyones scans! can't wait for mine! (still have two weeks to wait tho!)

hope you're all having a good Friday afternoon

Jenswish · 15/06/2007 17:23

Hey all,

11 weeks on Sunday!!

thunder Storming good here! AM tired but no too tired anymore and the itching has subsided.

I know it shouldn't be yet but I swear I've got a good teeny tiny bump now. Kinda panicking that's its cos its twins. haha.

Hope all is ok!

goingfor3 · 15/06/2007 17:59

It's DD's sixth birthday party tommorow. Our fridge food is at a neighbours so I will have to collect it in the morning, I think I may have burnt her cake - it's chocolate so it doesn't look too bad, the house is still a mess as today is the only day I had to get everything ready so I spent most of the day buying and preparing food. It's going to be a disaster!

gingeme · 15/06/2007 18:53

Deep breath goingfor3 Im sure it will all turn out ok in the end.
Ladies when you get up in the morning turn on to your sides swing your legs off the edge of the bed and sit up that way. It puts alot less strain on your tummy muscles. This is no time to be doing sit ups Also when doing jobs that involve bendin ie getting the washing out of the machine or tumble dryer get in to the habit of bending your knees and squatting rather than bending your back. When I was pg the last time at the end of it I used to crawl around my front room at the end of the day picking ds3's toys up. Him and dh used to think it was hilarious though they did help some of the time
Well I hope that helps.
Have a brill weekend.

barristermum · 15/06/2007 19:41

Heavens - so MUCH happens if you are away for a week - I have been doing a case in Portsmouth and going back and forth each day and am so so tired I could now drop - dh has been away and will be for another 2 weeks and I'm missing him, and I have to go and do a night shift for some voluntary work I do and so am feeling just a smidge sorry for myself.
going43, you sound in much the same way - hang on in there - this time tomorrow it will all be over and you WILL have coped magnificently.
Then I read all the last posts and just wept for skibump and teenagersagain - I think it's so lovely skibump is staying in touch - I'm not sure I could bear to in her place but it will be great to know how she does and I send you both if you read this so so much love, sympathy and hopeful wishes for your futures.
Fruitful - you had me pretty scared - so glad all is well and for 2manyshoes - glad NYC was great. Naetha -great scan, great news, awen - rough old MW experience - glad it had more of a happy ending. Loved reading what you said about your mum - but could absolutely NOT imagine having mine in the labour room. I have a pretty nasty tongue on me (it's the company I keep in day-to-day work) as it is but when in that much pain I suspect I'll turn the air blue and she could not cope with that - I think she'd slap my legs! I think I'll be such a shrew it can only be dh who knows not to take it personally.
We had a private scan on Sunday which went really well and really set my mind at rest until I read skibump's experience. We saw heartbeat, baby twitch and everything was in the right place and it all became very real for us both. I've been feeling a lot more nauseous and heartburn-y which has been curiously comforting tho' to offset that I am stressed my breasts aren't seemingly changing at all- maybe brighter aureoles but that's desperately seeking something. All we have all said about the paranoia is so real isn't it, so welcome all newbies to this wonderful world of worrying and support that I have felt quite bereft of this last week.
(((((((((hugs))))))))
