@sickmumma I don't think you can pm from.l the app. Has to be from main website

twiglet · 23/09/2018 16:42

@bubblybrit yes sounds like it. Mine feels either like someone flicking my stomach gently or weird bubbles/flutter.

bubblybrit · 23/09/2018 17:34

Thanks @twiglet. It was the strangest feeling but didn’t want to get too excited in case it turned out to be nothing. Can only really feel it if I’m lying down and staying still.

Surprisedmom · 23/09/2018 18:15

@bubblybrit at first I mostly felt movement if lying down too, it feels like bubbles in your tummy to me and is getting stronger day by day.

bubblybrit · 23/09/2018 18:35

Ah that’s good to know @Surprisedmom. I was starting to worry that I wasn’t feeling any movement at all but this morning gave me a little reassurance!

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 23/09/2018 18:39

@lanalawr with DD I worried that I felt things so late but when they explained that the placenta masking a lot of the movements I calmed down.

The moment the sonographer showed us the placenta position this time I knew it would be the same.

I mainly feel little kicks to the sides of my tummy but a lot of bubble type things. Also pressure where it's turning. Like when they turn in late pregnancy without the side kicks where it's still quite small.

lanalawr · 23/09/2018 19:02

@Thesnobbymiddleclassone Yes it's less worrying now that I know I've got an anterior placenta again (and there was still time anyway). I am feeling things now but fairly low down kicks so I wonder if the placenta is anterior but slightly higher than last time. Who knows. I only found out its position at the 20 week scan though because it wasn't in the report from 12 weeks.

powkin · 23/09/2018 19:24

Still almost 2 weeks until my 20 week scan.

Anyone else feeling rather grouchy?! Cat has been pissing me off so much, had to feed it shitty cat food to make it be quiet as he refused to eat the nice expensive one and refused to stop meowing whilst I’m trying to cook. I was getting so annoyed and my DH looks at me like I’m just being disproportionately irritated and I get worked up that I’ll be a terrible human mum as well as a cat mum :(

Katinkak8 · 23/09/2018 19:38

@powkin sounds perfectly normal to me! Blame hormones! I've been much grumpier than usual! Mainly about food too. My toddler sounds similar to your cat. She will happily eat rubbish (not that I let her!) but turns her nose up at the healthy home cooked dinners I make her every day! Argh! Grin

Baby160P · 23/09/2018 20:03

@powkin I was about to write this myself...

I just was doing the washing up and the cutlery holder fell over after I'd washed it all which meant me throwing the cutlery to the floor then OH wound me up by laughing so I splashed bubbly water at him which went in his mouth so then I laughed and wet myself a little then stormed up to get changed and came down crying.

I'm sure that sounds funny 🙈

I was worried that I'm still like this.

Baby160P · 23/09/2018 20:03

Ps mentalist!!!!!! Lol

AnnieBee2 · 23/09/2018 20:13

So much to catch up on!! Lots of us finding out genders! Congrats everyone!

Particular congrats to fellow twin mom @MrsY87 - a boy and girl how amazing! I have a scan on Tues and will probably find out then if the babes are cooperative!

@Baby160P I have two anterior placentas - am 17+3 and felt no movement so far.

Also might be of interest - someone has given me a Dreamgenii pillow and I am sleeping so much better - totally recommend!

Katinkak8 · 23/09/2018 20:36

@AnnieBee2 do you know if your twins are identical yet or do you just have to wait for them to be born? (I know I sound completely clueless!). Good luck with your scan! We're scan date buddies!
@Baby160P when I was pregnant first time around, I had an anterior placenta and definitely didn't feel baby until after the 20 week scan. This time I'm assuming I have a posterior placenta, because I've been feeling baby for weeks. Or maybe it's because this time round I know what it feels like! Grin

AnnieBee2 · 23/09/2018 21:06

@Katinkak8 I was totally clueless but starting to understand twin biology now! So my twins have their own placenta (which is good as its the lowest risk of the types of twins!) but they could still be identical. won't know for sure until they are born - unless they happen to be boy/girl twins then you know for sure! Grin Fingers crossed for Tuesday - let us know how you get on!

maxiflump1 · 23/09/2018 21:10

@AnnieBee2 and @Katinkak8 my 20 week scan is on Tuesday too!!

AnnieBee2 · 23/09/2018 21:18

@maxiflump oooo another scan buddy! hope it will be a lucky day for all of us! Smile

Surprisedmom · 23/09/2018 21:24

@powkin and @Baby160P I am totally with you both on the irritability front. I have found myself very irritated today by a friend sending me suggestions about babies including not using nappies and just trying to catch your baby before they soil the carpet (as if I have time for cleaning pee and poo up from around the house all the time as a single mom)! Then she asked if I was feeling kicks yet, then asked if it was weird having something living inside of me. It all just irritated me to be honest as I feel it’s overly intrusive to ask me if I can feel the baby and even more so to suggest it was a weird thing to have a baby inside me. Fortunately this was all via message so I couldn’t scream at her in annoyance. Hope I’ll feel calmer tomorrow.

AliceRR · 23/09/2018 22:06

Anyone else getting back ache? I had quite an active day in that I cleaned the house for what must have been at least two hours and don’t know whether I’ve just over exerted myself or tired myself out. Feel a bit sniffly (again!) so maybe I’m getting another cold... and I’m pretty sure I have SPB / PGP and o think that can cause back ache

I was a bit worried earlier as I thought I was getting abdominal cramps but I think it’s my back and baby still seems to be active (I’m finding she or he is active at bedtime!) so hopefully nothing serious

I’m such a worrier / moaner!!

20w scan is on Wednesday so hope for some reassurance that everything is as it should be

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 23/09/2018 22:16

@AliceRR I'm getting a lot of back ache but I found with DD that the closer scans got, the more to started looking at those things so it could be that.

Katinkak8 · 23/09/2018 22:40

@AnnieBee2 yes that makes perfect sense. My friend knew she was having identical twins because they shared a placenta. It was a worry for her and lots of extra scans etc so I'm glad that your twins have a placenta each! (My friend's twins are beautiful, healthy toddlers now.)
@maxiflump yay another scan buddy! I hope it all goes well, let us know.
@Surprisedmom what sort of a friend suggests not putting your children in any sort of a nappy?! I'm assuming they don't have children or have a cleaner or plenty of time on their hands! Grin
@AliceRR I think backache is fairly normal as we get further along. Maybe it's just that you did too much housework? I hope it feels better though and good luck for Wednesday!

Surprisedmom · 23/09/2018 22:53

@Katinkak8 I was sent this video by my friend about not using nappies:

My thoughts:

  1. what happens at night?
  2. so I can’t have even 2 seconds of not watching my baby a day incase he poos everywhere?
  3. NOBODY will let me visit their home.
  4. what child minder is going to agree to this? I can’t take years off work until he’s potty trained.
  5. Letting the baby defecate in public is not hygienic and is not a good life lesson.
  6. why was my friend who doesn’t have kids watching videos about this in order to send them to me?

To anyone who wants to try this method, good luck to you but it absolutely won’t work for me.

Baby160P · 23/09/2018 22:56

@Surprisedmom I'd probably have gone to the extreme of blocking her for a bit.
Highly irritated at the moment 😂

@AliceRR I had a bad back Friday as we were at a wedding and he seats were so uncomfortable and we were up and dancing etc. Definitely being active more gets me.

Katinkak8 · 23/09/2018 22:59

@Surprisedmom I know I shouldn't but I had to laugh at your post! You're completely right and I think that your friend is a bit crazy and clearly has too much time on their hands!

Surprisedmom · 23/09/2018 23:05

@Katinkak8 i’m glad you laughed, perhaps this is the approach I should be taking instead of irritation.

Speaking of laughter my bump feels big enough to me now that it’s like a proper Santa Claus style jiggle when I laugh and I end up holding it for stability. It makes me happy that this is the case Smile

MrsY87 · 24/09/2018 07:25

@Baby160P assuming you have managed to join the fb group now but let me know if not!

@AnnieBee2 good luck for your scan on Tuesday! It suddenly feels much more real that there are two knowing what they are! I'm still totally freaking out about how I'm going to cope though! I started looking into Nannies/Au Pairs to just give me an extra pair of hands!

@AliceRR I get a bit achey if I've had a busy day, it's totally normal so try not to worry!

Have another consultant appointment today for me but hopefully it will be a quick one as scan showed good growth compared to 16w.
