Dragonflew I want one of those too and my bed is also really high! I think we'll get one anyway and just use t as a crib rather than the next to me feature as from what I've heard they're sturdy and last the baby until 5-6 months. DS was out of his Moses basket by 10 weeks!

Since2016 · 20/09/2018 20:32

We have a snuzpod (it’s fab) - we had the mattresses align as IMO it’s to replicate the cosleeping but safer. Also once babies are rolling they’re generally quite mobile so I wouldn’t worry. Not sure I follow re the diff heights theory tbh - we got the snuzpod because of the height of our bed and adjusted. Although you can just leave the side off a normal crib and belt it to the underside of the bed.

Since2016 · 20/09/2018 20:32

DD was massive and v long and in hers till 8 months!

Since2016 · 20/09/2018 20:33

Oh and we went with top of mattress as the measurement!

lanalawr · 20/09/2018 21:27

@DragonFlew from memory I think it's the top of the bed. I remember having to use straps to attach it to the base of our bed.

lanalawr · 20/09/2018 21:29

Just realised I said the opposite to @Since2016. Not very helpful of me sorry. I was just remembering the straps. I think ours was marginally lower than the bed but it wasn't by much. I need to dig it out and read the instructions again at some point.

emalady · 21/09/2018 07:12

@baby160p I've had a tender tummy too. Assumed it was because I was doing more exercise and pulling muscles but could be the growth. Had worried something was wrong.
20 week scan yesterday all ok but she refused to give us a good picture and I have to go back for a couple of bits, another scan so not too bad really.

Baby160P · 21/09/2018 07:47

@emalady good to know. Did you already know she was a girl before or did they find out yesterday?

Having the most horrible dreams at the moment 😩 that with numb hands and needing a wee every hour I'm shattered!!!

Baby160P · 21/09/2018 08:36

NEXT have a big sale today maternity and newborn included mostly 1/2 price if anyone Interested.

Since2016 · 21/09/2018 08:44

@lanawr you could be right though! All I remember is looking at the measurements and needing to go with the snuzpod because it was higher. I can’t recomend it enough to anyone planning on BF in particular as you don’t need to move!

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/09/2018 10:57

Sonce2016 that's good to know that the snuz pod is higher. Do you know what height it is? Will have a look at it (after measuring our high bed!).

Lulabell1 · 21/09/2018 11:54

@baby160p it starts at my store tomorrow i go every sale I get there for 6amBlush im a bit obsessed ha! But i do always get really good bargains

Baby160P · 21/09/2018 12:17

@Lulabell1 it's worth it! It's online too

Celebelly · 21/09/2018 12:25

We had our 20-week scan today! Everything looked good, thankfully. I'm so relieved! Baby was being awkward and shielding itself with its hand a lot, plus hanging around near my bellybutton which you can't scan through, so sonographer had a bit of a struggle but we got there in the end!

Yakadee · 21/09/2018 12:43

@Celebelly - fab news! X

Fredthespider · 21/09/2018 14:29

Great news @Celebelly, are you waiting to find out whether it's a boy or girl?

Celebelly · 21/09/2018 14:49

No, we found out at our scan today that they don't tell you the sex! So we are having a private gender scan tomorrow as I'm too much of a control freak to wait. I didn't spy any boy bits, but he/she was being awkward and it was hard to tell what was what a lot of the time.

I know some people like the surprise of not knowing, but I'll be surprised enough that I've potentially managed to push something weighing 8lbs out of my foof! :D

sickmumma · 21/09/2018 14:52

I have ordered a snuzpod 3, bit worried now as didn't even think to check it would fit to our bed (just assumed it was universal!) only that it would fit alongside width ways between bed and wardrobe! we have an Ikea bed so they are not normal sizes!

AliceRR · 21/09/2018 14:59

@sickmumma I wonder how a snuzpod 3 differs from the 2 or whether I was looking at an old John Lewis booklet 🤔

MakeLemonade · 21/09/2018 15:15

We did an Ikea hack to create a co-sleeper, worked really well and lasted until DD2 was about 1yo. Like this: amandamedlin.com/2013/11/diy-co-sleeper-pretty-little-quilt/

Yakadee · 21/09/2018 15:29

Has anyone started thinking of names yet? X

AliceRR · 21/09/2018 15:33

@Yakadee I have (although I had a list before I was pregnant!). I have more girls names I like than boys. Have a definite favourite girls name (first name and middle( but not sure how keen DH is. No really strong contenders for boys names. Hope to find out sex next week so then will know if we need to think of boys names!

Yakadee · 21/09/2018 15:45

@AliceRR - we're having a girl (thrilled) but before we knew we had our boys name sorted but not girls. I'm stuck, we've found one name we like but I'm not in love with it. It's really hard picking a name that someone is going to have forever x

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/09/2018 15:56

Yakadee yep, think we have our boy's name picked out (there's a couple on a list but one stands out). A girl's name was easier as we had one picked out, but as we already have DS our number one boy's name has already been used!

Since2016 · 21/09/2018 16:17

We had a boys name picked out last time. Girls is more challenging as our DD has an unusual Irish name and it would need to ‘match’.

have stinking cold. Nightmare childcare crisis today as I’m working an extra day and my mum forgot she was meant to have DD. So DH has had to take a day off (I’d organised specific meetings for today I was chairing) and now he’s not talking to me. I’ve been on the children’s unit which is always upsetting (cancer) and I’m 2 hours from home and want to cry.

Rant over.
