Pleased to hear that @Leonora94

powkin · 19/09/2018 14:43

Anyone else got swollen feet already?! I’m only 17.5 but have had it for a few weeks, not sure if flying made it worse. Feel like I’m getting loads of symptoms early!

Since2016 · 19/09/2018 14:57

Glad all ok Lula!

@powkin yep me too. Legs as well but I had hideous swelling last time so was totally expecting it!

AliceRR · 19/09/2018 15:05

@powkin I’ve got slightly swollen feet and already seem to have pelvic girdle pain... (so far self diagnosed!) I also had my first ever leg cramp last night!!

Baby160P · 19/09/2018 15:40

@AliceRR I got in a muddle lol just checked MW notes

Flu jab- when it comes out at your doctors

Whooping cough- 20 weeks+

Gestational diabetes from 24 weeks

General Blood tests 28 weeks

powkin · 19/09/2018 15:59

@AliceRR @Since2016 glad it’s not just me! I got swollen fingers when went for long walks pre pregnancy anyway so have a propensity for it but my feet are a pretty new phenomenon - they barely fit in my slippers!

AliceRR · 19/09/2018 16:00

@Baby160P My MW said WC from 20 weeks but apparently that is old info and nhs now says from 16 w but we are mostly around 20 weeks now. I am just going to have both on 1 Oct when I will be 21 weeks.

A colleague had the diabetes test last week and apparently it made her quite sick and she had to go home! 🤢 Has anyone has this before? I think you drink the solution and then have a blood test after two hours so does that mean you have to sit on the hospital for 2 hours to have your blood tested??

AliceRR · 19/09/2018 16:01

@Powkin My DH says pregnancy has “weakened” me! I do feel like I shouldn’t be having trouble walking already!!

Yakadee · 19/09/2018 16:02

I'm getting my whooping cough and flu Jab tomorrow - I'll be 20+4.

I have to have the diabetes test at end of October. Dreading it! I've heard you really do have to just sit there for hours x

lanalawr · 19/09/2018 16:35

@DragonFlew Yes to hair falling out! I'm not impressed. Hoping this means I get away with less hair loss after the baby is born but that might be wishful thinking.

@Since2016 Could you ring your midwife or the hospital to ask? Sorry I can't be more help - I just assumed you'd have midwife appointments at the GP surgery.

Jesscaar · 19/09/2018 16:55

Results are in, and we're having a baby boy!! He measured up bang on the 50th percentile for his growth, so here's hoping that continues and he'll arrive on time in Feb!

Had the whooping cough vaccine immediately after the scan, so that's all sorted now. Flu vaccine will likely be October, and then gestational diabetes test early November.

DragonFlew · 19/09/2018 16:58

@AliceRR yes you have to hang around the hospital for 2 hours so take a book or iPad with you! I went for the quad test with DS2 and saw a pregnant lady in the waiting room at the hospital who was waiting and she passed out! Poor woman!

DragonFlew · 19/09/2018 16:58

@Jesscaar congratulations. That's lovely news x

AliceRR · 19/09/2018 17:00

@DragonFlew Thanks for the heads up!! I will definitely take a book or something. Altho the hospital is 5 mins from my office so maybe I could walk back there 🤔

Does anyone have maternity pyjamas or are you wearing ones from before? I’m find normal ones just about ok if the waistband is under my bump but they are getting a bit uncomfortable... Any recommendations?

hayley013 · 19/09/2018 17:04

I've got the have the GD test this time, apparently you have to fast before going to the appt too, is that right? I didn't have it with DD and was consultant led for the same reason (low BMI) dreading it if I can't eat for a long period haha xx

twiglet · 19/09/2018 17:07

I've also been getting very swollen feet my DH has been giving me foot massages most evenings to try to relieve it slightly!

We accidentally bought our pram and travel system today only went for a look as the Jane stockists are few and far between by us. I hope I haven't jinxed it by buying too early as I have my 20 week scan next week (at 21 wks).
It was such a bargain a Jane crosswalk travel system pram, carry cot, car seat and change bag had £350 off and the shop was amazing and helpful!

DragonFlew · 19/09/2018 17:23

@AliceRR I haven't bought maternity pjs yet. I've been sleeping in Just one of DH's t shirts - almost like a nightie. My pjs are just too uncomfortable now! Next have some pretty pjs also wantthattrend.com have some.nice bits by Katie Piper x

DragonFlew · 19/09/2018 17:24

@twiglet haha 'accidently' bought it - I accidently buy things all the time! I don't think you'll have jinxed anything and sometimes bargains are too good to miss!

twiglet · 19/09/2018 17:42

@DragonFlew thanks 🙂 we had done a lot of research on them wasn't planning on buying today as closest stockist was over 2 hrs away but we had to take our dog to Edinburgh vetinary hospital so it happened to work out. Had to leave the dog at the vets overnight I looked like a crazy pregnant woman in tears.....she is only in for tests (be it bloody expensive ones thank god for insurance!)
Pram set was also in teal a colour I love 😍

Yakadee · 19/09/2018 18:06

Maternity leggings all the way. I wear them around the house and for bed. The most comfortable things in the world! X

Baby160P · 19/09/2018 18:31

@AliceRR GTT rest yeah you wait 2 hours but you have sit still as they want to know what your body does with the sugars you basically do a shot of!

Lookingforadvice123 · 19/09/2018 18:41

Congratulations jesscaar! Lovely news on the boy-bee and the scan.

I've felt the baby move at least a couple of times every day, but it will easily go all day without me noticing anything and then I'll notice a couple in the night at bedtime. I keep reminding myself how small he still is at 18 weeks.

I need to get some maternity jammies for sure. I've got a pair of stretchy non maternity ones which I wore all last pregnancy, tried them on and of course they fell straight down as they'd been worn when I was heavily pregnant and stretched so much! Think I'll treat myself to a pair.

Lookingforadvice123 · 19/09/2018 18:42

Ooh and no swollen feet here, I didn't get it at all with DS so hoping for the same this time round.

AliceRR · 19/09/2018 19:00

@lookingforadvice123 @dragonflew I got some fitted jogging bottoms (almost like leggings) from h&m for about £4 in the same and they’re comfy so might just try sleeping in those 🤔

@hayley013 yes I believe it is a fasted test...

Since2016 · 19/09/2018 19:10

Congrats @jesscaar lovely news!

@lanalawr thanks I will do just wondering if anyone knew if there was something I’d missed! I have all my MW appts at the hospital partly I think because I’m technically out of area (have chosen to not go locally). Annoying that I’ll have to sort tho...
