@Lulabell1 that's definitely me, nausea and lack of appetite come back with a vengeance this week! Will try eating quicker and see if it helps thanks!

Leonora94 · 19/09/2018 04:13

Hi guys, I’ve been quite on here recently but have been keeping up! Congratulations on all the lovely 20 week scans. I think I’m going mad...can’t shake the feeling of dread 😞 I’m 18 weeks with my first, 2 weeks to go until my scan but I’m sure I was feeling baby move last week. Little pops and rolls now nothing. I can’t sleep from worry, my mum lost a baby after me around this time which isn’t helping my anxiety either. Thinking about calling the midwife as soon it becomes a more human time.

Yakadee · 19/09/2018 07:19

@Leonora94 - aww hope you managed some sleep. I can totally understand your anxiety about this (and would be lying if I said I'd never felt this way at this stage) but honestly I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. Baby is still small and is probably tucked up somewhere. Regular pattern etc isn't a thing until quite a bit further on. Of course if you're still worried call if it'll put your mind at ease x

clairehr · 19/09/2018 07:23

Welcome @katinkak We're due date buddies, and I know there are a few more from the Facebook page who are due 12th too! Im also Team Yellow - good job as even sonographer couldn't see at scan yesterday as baby had legs firmly crossed!

AutumnLee12 · 19/09/2018 07:24

Might be a silly question but is there a specific time in pregnancy they recommend the flu jab? I usually book one at work every year but I can't remember if the midwife said to be at a certain week before having it!

Leonora94 · 19/09/2018 07:44

Thanks @Yakadee I didn’t get much sleep but I’ve taken the morning off and I’m waiting for the midwife to call me back. I decided I’d much rather be told I’m being silly then sit here worrying! I’m normally such a chilled out person but I’ve never known worry like this!

Jesscaar · 19/09/2018 07:46

I've got my 20 week scan today! So excited to see baby again, makes a nice change from the anxiety I had before the 12 week scan.

Katinkak8 · 19/09/2018 07:46

Hi Autumn. I don't think any specific time is recommended. I phoned my a GP yesterday and I'm booked in for 13th Oct. I'd get it booked as soon as you get chance though, you don't want to get flu first!
Hi clairehr! Yay, a date buddy! I'm glad that you were happy to be Team Yellow if baby was being difficult! Grin

FrowningFlamingo · 19/09/2018 08:03

@leonara94 I'm 19 weeks and had a bit of a lul in movements in week 18 funnily enough. I tried not to worry about it as I know it can be very variable and in the last two days he's been a right little wiggler! I'm sure everything's fine but can understand why you're worried, of course!

AliceRR · 19/09/2018 08:41

@AutumnLee12 I think you can have flu jab any time but it’s usually released round about now. I am booked in for flu and whooping cough jabs together on 1st Oct I think.

Leonora94 · 19/09/2018 08:44

@FrowningFlamingo thanks that is reassuring. I think it’s just because what happened to my mum coming up to her 20 week scan it’s making me overthink.

FrowningFlamingo · 19/09/2018 09:22

That would make me worry too.
We've had three occurances of still birth in my family, one very recently. Although there's no clear risk to me and there were clear causes which don't apply to me it still plays on my mind!

Leonora94 · 19/09/2018 10:35

I’m going in they’re going to check the heart beat just to stop me from worrying, they did say there’s probably nothing to worry about though. Feel bad for wasting time but I can’t have another sleepless night again!

Notquiteagandt · 19/09/2018 10:44

@AutumnLee12 my gp surgery have a list of everyone eligible. They write you a letter inviting you for it in alphabetical order and I just book in. But they dont start for a few weeks. But think works differantly everywhere as mine are dished out by GP not midwife.

Anyone had/booked in for whooping cough yet?

@Leonora94 never a waste of time if you are worrying. They would rather reassure you than have you worrying.

Yakadee · 19/09/2018 11:20

Agree not a waste of time at all, you need to do what feels right for you xx update us xx

Baby160P · 19/09/2018 11:43

Flu jab is booked in mid October. My doctors have 2 sessions they do it. Both in October.

Whooping cough I will book for 24 weeks which is the start of November but my doctors don't go that far ahead.

I worry too but had a scan 10 days ago, no reason to, just other people's experience etc. Oh and I haven't felt baby yet! Well first baby so not that I'd know if I did.

AliceRR · 19/09/2018 11:48

@Baby160P Is there a reason why you waiting for 24 weeks for WC vaccine? I know there was some confusion/ old info re dates?

I worry too. I feel baby quite regularly now (every day for past 5+ days) but before that I could go 5 days between any feelings of movement and that worried me slightly although I know it’s normal not to feel movement every day (or even at all) at this stage.

Since2016 · 19/09/2018 11:49

Will get my flu jab once it starts at work.

Just remembered after MW appt. my next one isn’t until 28 weeks. For those on 2nd babies who aren’t seeing a community MW - how are you getting yours? We don’t have a 25 week appt here so do I need to call and go and collect it?

lanalawr · 19/09/2018 12:41

@Since2016 Do you mean the MATB1? In my surgery we ring to ask the midwife for it then collect the form from reception. If you mean jabs, they're done at a separate nurse appointment for us.

I need to remember to ring for my 28 week appointment because my midwife has just changed. Really hope she hasn't changed the clinic days though because they worked for me!

I definitely felt the baby move yesterday (second baby and 19+4). In retrospect I think I felt it last week too but was unsure. I wasn't sure what I was looking for because I felt dd late partly because of an anterior placenta with her I think.

DragonFlew · 19/09/2018 13:27

At my surgery they offer an appointment at 22-25 weeks even for 2/3/4th babies to collect the MATB1 and just have a checkup. Otherwise its a long wait from 16 to 28 weeks!

Is anyone else loosing hair? I thought pregnancy was supposed to make my hair luscious and thick! My is falling out in the shower and when brushing far more than usual. And I'm having breakouts all over my forehead - no pregnancy glow for me yet!

Lulabell1 · 19/09/2018 14:23

Hi ladies hope everyones okay today. I had a call this morning from health visitor she said she was planning to come here today and had sent me a letter but i never received it. I was really worrying i never had a health visitor come before birth with DD!! She came she was lovely she gave me my red book and just sat and spoke about things suchh as feeding, birthing partner, any medical conditions and DD. She said everyone gets these checks and nothing to worry about as its procedure now so if you get the same in your area dont be alarmed like i was Grin

Since2016 · 19/09/2018 14:23

Yes meant matb1! I’m only at the hospital so surgery isn’t an option... was wondering what people who were #2 and in the same situation were doing.

Since2016 · 19/09/2018 14:24

Less fussed about check ups as I have another scan at 22 weeks and only just had my ‘16’ week appt just annoyed I forgot to ask what to do re the form!

Leonora94 · 19/09/2018 14:36

Went and heard a nice strong heart beat all really normal! I’m glad I went as it means I can relax a bit now, 20 week scan in two weeks, bring it on! Thanks for all your help guys ♥️

AliceRR · 19/09/2018 14:36

I just got a text from my gp surgery saying flu vaccine is recommended in pregnancy and to contact them to make an appointment. I’ve already booked for 1st Oct but thought it was interesting for those asking as I didn’t think they’d have contacted me about it...
