Oh no! Mine joked about handstands but didn't get that far!

Forgot to say I apparently have a posterior placenta - does that just mean it might be harder for others to feel movement? I didn't have this with my first x

Since2016 · 18/09/2018 13:40

Cardiac scan all clear! Will probably need an an echo at birth and there are no guarantees but v relieved and happy! Baby all present and correct and waving away.

Re posterior - no it means it’s at the back so easier to feel movement rather than anterior - at the front x

Yakadee · 18/09/2018 13:44

Oh Haha! I did have this the first time then.

Glad all went well x

BabaProject2019 · 18/09/2018 13:44

Hello anyone from London? Or 35 plus?Smile

Fredthespider · 18/09/2018 13:46

I mentioned wishing I could do a handstand and she asked me not to try ‘for health and safety’ 😂

Rowse · 18/09/2018 13:47

Hello @BabaProject2019 I'm just outside London, but work in London. There are definitely others in London and 35 or over. I'm sure they'll be in touch xx

DragonFlew · 18/09/2018 13:49

@since2016 amazing news, what a relief for you.
@powkin congratulations!
@yakadee congratulations on a lovely baby girl - that's fabulous!

Rowse · 18/09/2018 13:52

For those still waiting for their 20 week scan. My friend told me to drink a can of coke (sure other sugary drinks would work) before I go in to wake the baby and keep it wriggling to maximise the chance of finding out the sex.
It worked well for us, he was nice and active and most definitely a boy Grin
He even gave us a wave!

Since2016 · 18/09/2018 13:59

Hi @babaproject2019 north london here, 34 but getting ever closer to 35!

Baby160P · 18/09/2018 14:00

@Rowse thanks for the advise! I hate coke but willing to give it a go!!!

Baby160P · 18/09/2018 14:01

I think I have pregnancy carpal tunnel syndrome. Literally wake throughout the night the last week with numb hands and sore fingers through it all and todays it's randomly happened throughout the morning 😩

BabaProject2019 · 18/09/2018 14:02

Oh great! Hi girls!! I am 18 weeks!!!

AliceRR · 18/09/2018 14:44

Does anyone worry about eating out eg I just had a sandwich buffet for lunch. Had ham&cheese and cheese sandwiches. Avoided keesh and chicken skewers but thought plain sandwiches would be ok. Did have a bit of one which had something like thousand island dressing on it but then left it as I wasn’t keen and worried about whether it had egg in it or was pasteurised etc. It’s from a catering place in Leeds...

Since2016 · 18/09/2018 15:00

@baby160p oh I feel for you - had this with DD it’s horrid. It does go after baby is born though!

Baby160P · 18/09/2018 15:36

@Since2016 it seems to be very common.

Did the GP diagnose or offer any advice etc?

Thank you

clairehr · 18/09/2018 16:42

All good at 20 week. Baby measuring firmly within parameters, no anomalies, but kept hiding behind the placenta and then right down in my pelvis, so not great scan pics, but lovely to see 😊

Fantastic @clairehr xx

GeriatricShmeriatric · 18/09/2018 17:07

Congrats everyone on your lovely healthy scans ♥️ You must be over the moon.

How long is the scan roughly?

Hi @BabaProject2019 41 over here & pregnant with my first - in fact will be 42 by the time baby arrives! Whoop!

Yakadee · 18/09/2018 17:16

Think it was around 20-30 mins x

Since2016 · 18/09/2018 17:33

@baby160p I don’t think I ever went to the GP... it’s usually because baby is sitting on a nerve ending and compounded when sleeping. I don’t think I ever found anything to relieve it - sorry not v helpful but it does go quite rapidly after birth! I used to lose all sensation in my fingers and wrists / pins and needles!

Lookingforadvice123 · 18/09/2018 17:42

Congratulations all on the 20 week scans!!! Still ages til mine, 2 weeks tomorrow! The time is going quickly unfairness though, and I had a private gender scan at 16+3 so cant complain!

Lookingforadvice123 · 18/09/2018 18:08

This is going to sound like a random question, but does anyone know roughly how many calories more than normal they're eating? I know the advice is stick to the same until the last trimester, but the thing is when not pregnant, I try and stick to 1500 ish in the week so I can treat myself on the weekend. Since my sickness has improved the last couple of weeks I've been able to eat healthily again, but because I need to snack so often and am starving I'm still eating about 1700-1800 calories a day so way more than I would normally! I know the average recommended amount for women is 2000 but I personally feel that would be way too much for me with my sedentary job, and if I stuck to that when not pregnant I'd definitely gain weight!

Lulabell1 · 18/09/2018 19:11

For those who still have sickness or its come back...i find if i wake up and dont eat within an hour i feel sick amd then carry on to be sick through out the day

Katinkak8 · 18/09/2018 21:28

Hi all, I hope you don't mind me joining you. I'm 19 weeks today, so due on 12th Feb with DC2. Scan is next Tuesday but we're planning to stay Team Yellow, like we did with DD. Really tempted to find out this time though! Grin
Hope everyone is keeping well.

Surprisedmom · 18/09/2018 21:39

@Lookingforadvice123 I don’t really calorie count, but I am definitely not eating loads more, just lots of fruit for snacks.
