Best of luck with your scan @Yakadee
Are you finding out the sex? I have mine next week & we are still undecided!

emalady · 17/09/2018 07:51

Very exciting, lots more scans and pictures over the next couple of weeks. Anyone else getting more paranoid and anxious as the scan gets closer. Can't wait to see her again!!

Since2016 · 17/09/2018 09:13

I’m totally freaked. Cardiac scan tomorrow and 20 week scan next week. I’m terrified there’s something wrong which is ridiculous as I had a scan 3 weeks ago!

Yakadee · 17/09/2018 10:34

@GeriatricShmeriatric - yes we are this time - I'm really excited about it now we've decided to.

@emalady - yes, feeling very nervous about tomorrow - didn't sleep much last night and bet I don't tonight either. Hopefully it's all for nothing. X

AliceRR · 17/09/2018 11:04

Good luck with scans everyone

Ours is next week and I’m a bit nervous but hopefully it will be ok. No reason to think it won’t be but you just don’t know. It is a scan designed to pick up on problems and anomolies!

Now thinking I would like to find out the sex, all being well.

Seem to be feeling baby move a lot more. The last few days I’ve been feeling something at least once a day and I think it is baby!

GeriatricShmeriatric · 17/09/2018 11:32

I'm so nervous about our scan next week! Being an older Mum & having had a miscarriage before adds to that I think. But I'm trying to keep positive - everything so far has been smooth. I am also so looking forward to seeing baby. Friends keep saying the 20 week scan is a really exciting one!

We always said we wouldn't find out sex till birth, but now it's a reality, I am so tempted.

Sending everyone healthy happy scan vibes!

clairehr · 17/09/2018 12:14

@Yakadee Scan buddies! Mine is at 3pm tomorrow and I'm kinda nervous, especially as may have to go on my own.

Baby160P · 17/09/2018 12:30

This is one reason I love this feed.

I feel like a plonker when I get this nervous.....
I literally had a scan privately last Saturday and am so worried.

Our 20 week scan isn't until 9th October.

Had some serious I think ligament stretching this morning down below!

Nice to feel 'normal' that everyone feels the same!

Yakadee · 17/09/2018 13:25

@clairehr - yay! Killer having to wait until 3pm though, mine is at 10am and it's actually my husbands birthday. I'm sure it'll still be amazing if you're on your own.

@Baby160P - yep, you're really not on your own. We're all the same (especially me) - I will be a wrek tomorrow!!! X

AliceRR · 17/09/2018 13:37

I popped into John Lewis over lunch to have a look at some prams and was told they do a free new parents session which is a 2 house session you can book in for where they show you all the big things or whatever you want to see. She said there is no obligation to buy and they will email you a list of what you liked plus you get a goodie bag. Sounds really good so just letting you know in case of interest and you weren’t aware!

I don’t think I want to start buying things yet but I am thinking I should at least get an idea or maybe choose the things I like and then maybe get them after Christmas when things might be reduced for Jan sales...

Also discovered this weekend there is a baby factory outlet 5 mins from my house so will probably keep an eye on what they have!

powkin · 17/09/2018 13:58

Thanks for that @AliceRR! I definitely need that (and will then buy it all on eBay!). I found going in there completely overwhelming and made me feel a bit shit as could no way afford most of what they sell new.

Lookingforadvice123 · 17/09/2018 14:02

I'm freaking out too the last couple of days! There were a couple of days last week (about a week ago) when I felt loads of baby movement. Now I've barely felt anything for days and days, literally felt a couple of little ones in bed last night and in the evening when watching tv. But absolutely nothing for most of the day. I'm only 17+5 so I know it's way too early for a pattern, but feels wrong that I've barely felt anything at all when I had been. I only had a scan 9 days ago and all was well, I know I'm being paranoid Confused

powkin · 17/09/2018 14:03

Comment of the day (colleague): “I was just thinking you’re looking really fat and then I remembered you’re pregnant! Haha!”
Me: “........”

Yakadee · 17/09/2018 14:07

@powkin - 🤦‍♀️

Since2016 · 17/09/2018 14:09

Same @lookingforadvice123 !!! It doesn’t help that by 20 weeks with DD DH could feel her move - no chance with this one. Is it because I’m not as thin??? Hopefully get some reassurance tomorrow

Yakadee · 17/09/2018 14:21

@Since2016 - I'm 20 weeks too and feeling loads of movement but hubby hasn't been able to yet either x

Lookingforadvice123 · 17/09/2018 14:30

Since2016 I cant actually remember when exactly I was feeling loads with DS, but I felt the first movements probably around the same time. I'm also not as thin haha!

Baby160P · 17/09/2018 15:31

@AliceRR we've done that with John Lewis and set up a nursery list too as they price match everything. Also people asking what gifts we'd like we can just give them the code and they can pick it from there's defo worth doing it.

Baby160P · 17/09/2018 15:33

We wasn't going to buy anything yet but we are away in the UK over new year 29th for a week or so and someone said the other day 'imagine if baby is 6 weeks early and you go into labour then?!'

Oh haha imagine 😩 now thinking we need to have car seat and hospital bag ready and take it just Incase!!

Surprisedmom · 17/09/2018 15:41

I held back on buying things until 12 weeks, but after that have ended up buying loads (mostly second hand). My absolute bargain buy was a second hand bugaboo that I got for £45 on eBay, went and collected it yesterday and am beyond thrilled. I know it’s early to buy things like a pram but nobody else had bid with a few hours to go and it was such a bargain I couldn’t not buy it.

AliceRR · 17/09/2018 16:02

I can see the benefit of buying things now as it would help spread the cost if nothing else!

I literally just started looking at prams and stuff in the last couple of days so will spend a few weeks researching probably...

Just had a training session and felt the biggest kick / somersault / I don’t know what from baby (I think!) while eating a chocolate biscuit. It’s the most movement I’ve felt. Was slightly worried for a sec but presumably it’s normal for these feelings to get stronger? 🤔

Yakadee · 17/09/2018 16:18

Definitely, that's what you want. Baby will be getting bigger and stronger all the time x

AliceRR · 17/09/2018 16:31

Thanks @Yakadee makes sense but I worry about everything atm!

GeriatricShmeriatric · 17/09/2018 17:33

All you ladies who have felt movement, kicks etc.. I'm 18 weeks & I've felt stuff which could be that for a few weeks now but it's very low down. I was expecting it to be just below belly button area, but feeling things more toward bladder/knicker line sort of area. Is this baby moving?

AliceRR · 17/09/2018 17:36

@geriatricshmeriatric Movements have been quite low down for me particularly to start with - feels like it could be moving up a bit now
