Also update on the pain...i have a UTI x

Lulabell1 · 13/09/2018 23:19

@sickmumma
I am off milk and chocolate too because sickness and also cheese!!

Fredthespider · 14/09/2018 06:21

Yay for a little girl @sickmumma! Sounds like your whole family is thrilled.

Sorry to hear you have a UTI @Lulabell1, but glad you’ve got it diagnosed and hopefully you’ll feel better soon!

I’ve got a cold which I’m struggling with. My throat feels like razor blades constantly. I need to work out what I can take to soothe it 😔

Surprisedmom · 14/09/2018 08:05

@Fredthespider if your cold involves a stuffy nose then you can use saline nasal sprays (the pharmacist sold me these to help with morning stuffiness). For your throat i imagine most cough syrups are out so I would try ginger and lemon tea with plenty of honey in it. That or just spoonfuls of honey ought to help soothe your throat a bit.

AliceRR · 14/09/2018 08:14

@Fredthrspider I had a cold and didn’t take anything. It was a bit rough. Olbas oil bubble bath helped clear my sinuses a bit. Also I had hot water (I don’t drink tea or coffee) and just tried to rest. Everyone says paracetamol is ok to take if you need pain relief. Just rest if you can.

AliceRR · 14/09/2018 10:44

The Ovia app is really good!

Reminds me to take my vitamin (have not been so good on that since 2nd trimester) and had a calendar for appointments...

Alicejj8x · 14/09/2018 12:59

Ovia app all the way 😬

RayneDash · 14/09/2018 13:53

Hi all! I'm new here. Mommy of two (10 and 6) and 17 weeks pregnant with another! I live in Warwickshire and I have a feeling it's a boy. Scan on 5th Oct :)

Alicejj8x · 14/09/2018 15:06

@RayneDash ahh congrats lovely!
I have my 20 week scan on the 5th October too

GeriatricShmeriatric · 14/09/2018 15:32

Hi everyone. Been lurking for a couple of weeks now Smile
18.5 weeks - 20 week scan on 27th - yikes! All getting very real & a bit scary now!
My first baby and I'm the lovely age of 41. Any other geriatrics out there?

Since2016 · 14/09/2018 16:20

Welcome both! My 20 week scan is on the 28th - looking forward to finding out whether it’s a boy or a girl for us. We have little girl already!!

Rowse · 14/09/2018 16:26

Thanks for the ovia recommendations, I'll check it out!

I had my 20 week scan today and found out we're having a boy! So many boys in this group so far that I'm not surprised!

The only issue was with one of my uterine arteries, the blood flow level was very slightly high (I think that's what she said!). So I'll be monitored, two more scans and I think a clinic appointment where they will prescribe low doses of aspirin. Apparently the issue can lead to high blood pressure and preeclampsia. The sonogorapher said not to panic and the aspirin will make sure it's okay.

Has anyone else had the same information? I'm not really panicked and I like the idea of two extra scans but after a quick google it does sound a bit scarier than it did when we were told.

Yakadee · 14/09/2018 16:35

Thanks everyone for backup on coke zero 😊

Randomly got logged out and was unable to reset my password but I'm back!

Feel for those of you with colds - hope you're feeling better soon x

DragonFlew · 14/09/2018 16:40

I don't like coke zero but have been drinking pepsi max - do you think that's the same risk-wise?

MrsY87 · 14/09/2018 17:45

@Rowse when I saw my consultant on Monday she mentioned about the possibility of me having to take aspirin for that exact reason as my babies are currently measuring small which can be an indication of the high flow. She didn't seem concerned about it just a bit of extra monitoring etc. Try to stay away from google as you will only scare yourself with worst case scenarios whereas generally they can manage these complications well when they are picked up early as yours has been.

Welcome newbies!

My 20w scan is a week today and I'm starting to feel quite anxious about it after we had an issue identified at DSs 20w scan, everything was fine but I'm starting to have a bit of anxiety now it's getting closer, just want it over and done with and to know everything is ok

Baby160P · 14/09/2018 18:20

@Rowse I already take aspirin. It's literally such a small dose to make sure your blood flows ok, 75mg per day and doesn't harm baby at all just makes sure you're ok ☺️

Baby160P · 14/09/2018 18:21

My Boobs are changing again, how big can ones nipples really get? 🙈😂

Literally sat in the bath in shock.

Yakadee · 14/09/2018 18:58

@Baby160P - that made me lol. With you on the massive nips, my husband now calls me 'mega jugs!'. Mine are huge and I'm afraid they will most likely be bigger before you're done. Mine did return to normal though xx

Baby160P · 14/09/2018 19:03

@Yakadee there was no polite way to put it 😂 I'm glad you're on the same level as me!!

Yakadee · 14/09/2018 19:17

@Baby160P - we're pregnant no politeness required! Trust me (you may have already) but once you've given birth I don't think you care! Any appointments since I'm just like, 'crack on!' Lol x

Since2016 · 14/09/2018 19:22

Yep, once half a medical team has seen you puking, pooing, bleeding... no modesty anymore!! My boobs are huge! But with DD I went from an A to an F by 20 weeks. Then I stopped tracking and just had bras that would ‘stretch’. I went back to around a C/D after finishing BF.

Baby160P · 14/09/2018 19:43

First baby here. I think that's why I'm so amazed lol. Sounds like I'm going to be a treat!!!! 😂

Since2016 · 14/09/2018 19:54

I’m not surprised @baby160p - I had to ask the lady to measure me again when I had the F discussion. I said there was absolutely no way; that I was an A pre pregnancy (I wasn’t even showing at this point) and that I couldn’t be any bigger than a DD. Nope. F. Nearly died.

Since2016 · 14/09/2018 19:54

Oh and even DD is pointing out my nipples now... gotta love toddlers

Yakadee · 14/09/2018 20:21

Haha. At least we're all in it together lol x
