@FrowningFlamingo Haha! I really like them short haul but not sure I’d do another 7 hour night flight due to sheer uncomfortableness. Although JFK terminal 1 is so unbelievably horrible and outrageously expensive that the journey didn’t exactly start well!

maxiflump1 · 12/09/2018 17:19

How was your holiday @powkin? Did you manage to relax a bit? Good luck with your consultants appointment tomorrow. Hopefully you will get some more answers x

@notquiteagandt I think you’re probably right but amazing you can feel so much!!

powkin · 12/09/2018 17:27

@maxiflump1 - had a good holiday thank you! Got a real mixed bag of weather - very hot and humid on some days and pretty cold with dreary endless rain on others but managed to get out and do lots of things and forget about all the baby stuff. Got pretty tired and very puffy feet and hands and started noticing the extra blood when trying to get up and down stairs! It’s made me feel much less fit than I am! I’m hoping all the walking did me good at least (the eating definitely didn’t!).

minniecat2406 · 12/09/2018 17:33

Hi ladies, I'm a few weeks behind you all (dd 27 March) but can I ask when you started to actually look pregnant? I've been so bloated sometimes I look six months but breathe in a lot and it goes away! When does a 'real' bump generally start to show? Xx

AliceRR · 12/09/2018 17:47

@minniecat2406 I feel I’ve looked pregnant for ages but sure a lot of it was bloating and maybe some just fat!! I am fairly slim (size 8) usually but have always carried a bit more weight around my middle so didn’t have a tight stomach anyway.

Now definitely look preg and need maternity clothes but must be a combination of bloating, fat and baby!!

AnnieBee2 · 12/09/2018 17:48

Hi @minniecat2406 - I'm almost 16 weeks with twins and I still don't have a convincing bump - it just looks like I've had a big dinner! I think it depends if its your first pregnancy and how much weight you normally carry round your middle - everyone is different! xx

MrsY87 · 12/09/2018 17:56

@minniecat2406 I'm nearly 18w with twins and don't have a proper convincing bump yet I'm still in that is she pregnant or just a bit fat stage! In my previous 2 pregnancies I didn't really show until 20/22w so don't worry! Bumps come in all sizes as we all carry differently!

Notquiteagandt · 12/09/2018 18:06

@minniecat2406

I still dont really look pregnant. I looked a bit bloated for a few weeks. Only really this week I look like ive got a small ball down my top. But im still not really in maternity clothes. Leggings and baggy dresses.

Id say this week (17w2d) is 1st week ive really looked pregnant.

Although an old lady in sainsburys the other week commented on my pregnancy so maybe im showing more than I thought.

Im only 5"2 so showed quite early for a 1st baby as not alot room for them to grow into.

Have friends who are on their 2nd babies and alot taller who are only just starting to show properly. (They are a week or 2 ahead of me).

minniecat2406 · 12/09/2018 18:15

Thanks all! First baby and I'm a size ten so most just be a bit of a bloat! Xx

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/09/2018 18:16

Welcome back powkin! Hope you had a great time.

I definitely look pregnant at 17 weeks and have done for a couple of weeks. I've been out of my usual skinny jeans since about 8 weeks! I'm usually a size 10 and slim with a flat stomach so I think that's why it's showing so much, plus it's my second. With my first I had a teeny tiny bump at this stage, it only really popped a lot at about 22 weeks.

Surprisedmom · 12/09/2018 18:20

I’m 18 weeks now don’t look that pregnant unless I go for tight fitting clothes, but being a teacher I tend to go for looser tops/dresses anyway and then it’s not at all obvious. I’m usually a size 8 and petite, so I can really tell I have a rounder belly but I don’t think anyone who didn’t know me would.

Lulabell1 · 12/09/2018 18:31

Hi ladies need a bit of advice

Since yesterday iv had light pain bery low down. Only when i get up and walk around but not when im laying or sitting... no other symptons but do you think i need to call midwife? Its almost like when you have a reallly really full bladder and it starts too hurt but its not that because still happenes after toilet im too scared to google

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 12/09/2018 18:54

@Lulabell1

I get that pain I think, feels like a pulling stitch really low down? Hurts to walk..?
No idea what it is... but I know I had it in previous pregnancies too.
I’ve put it down to standard pregnancy twinges and haven’t let it bother me (other than having to have a little sit down when it’s bad!)

DragonFlew · 12/09/2018 19:24

@lullabell1 yes I get this too. Same as @NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking - I have had it in previous pregnancies and just assume it's ligaments/joints in the pelvis looseningand stretching!

Lulabell1 · 12/09/2018 19:39

Iv just never had it in previous pregnancy started to worry me when it didnt go today and beacause it feels like its my bladder was wonderinf if its a UTI but i got no other symptons

Notquiteagandt · 12/09/2018 19:54

@Lulabell1 I get that too. Realy takes it out of me for a min or 2 then goes. I just ashumed it was pelvic pain. Or baby lying awkward as if i change position or feel baby move it goes.

Just seen this on fb. Sure use to some of you ladies.

I’m wearing my (black) dungarees to work today! I work in an office but I’ve been exited to wear them since they arrived on Monday. I want to be comfy and warm!

Yakadee · 13/09/2018 08:34

Morning ladies. I think we might have covered this before but wondered what your thoughts were.

So, I love coke zero. Obviously I know it's not great for you and have massively cut down (I know there is caffine too etc) and have a few cans a week ( used to have a few a day probably before).

Could it really harm baby? Xx

Lookingforadvice123 · 13/09/2018 08:43

Yakadee no!

I've actually upped my Coke Zero/Diet Coke intake since being pregnant which seems weird, but I'm having less caffeine so it's a coffee replacement. I used to have two coffees a day but now I tend to have one (two if I'm really tired, but it's only instant) and some days I'll have a can of Diet Coke as well. I'm probably having a couple a week where before I got pregnant I would have maybe one a week max. It's fine.

Yakadee · 13/09/2018 08:45

My hubby has made me feel really bad about it (he's not being mean just telling me it could hurt the baby). I drank it will my first and he's a 2.5 year old giant so certainly doesn't look to have caused him any trouble xxx

maxiflump1 · 13/09/2018 09:02

@Yakadee don't think a few cans a week will do any harm at all. I've never drink coke before but since I fell pregnant it's all I want! I now tend to buy the caffeine free Diet Coke but tend to have one or two normal cokes a week. I mentioned it to my consultant the other week and she said as long as your not drinking multiple cans a day it's not an issue.

Thanks guys. That makes me feel better. I hardly had any before 12 weeks as just couldn't stomach it so I've had loads less x

Since2016 · 13/09/2018 10:13

When you vom in the car at 7:45 into a paper bag which then leaks onto your coat and means commuting smelling of sick. 👌🏻

Yay.
