Thought I'd get the new thread started as no one objected to my title suggestion

Inzi sorry to hear your news, my sister feel pregnant after I had miscaried, and she felt awful. I had a little cry but was very happy for her too

I have had a terrible afternoon, I have decided Im locking myself away till this baby comes. Me and DD got bus inot town to go to library. As we got off bus, its raining. Got to library and discovered i had £2.50 charge i didnt know about, got telling off
I forgot its not easy to carry anything with crutches so carrying books was not fun. Library lady sent me upstairs when the book i wanted was downstairs. The man at the counter then informed me i had to have dvd/videos worth £5 to pay on my card, and i had no change as had just paid fine. Got out in the end, was walking to bus stop and started raining. Big huge raindrops Got to bus stop, missed me bus. Got on next one but before I sat down driver pulled away and i landed heavey in my seat (just). Got home and found.... cat sick on my kitchin floor .
I have sat dd down with new dvd and sat in front of comp. I am not moving now till dh gets home
I never knew not driving would be so difficult, i didnt drive for years.

muppetgirl · 29/06/2007 16:22

hey i did it!!!!

muppetgirl · 29/06/2007 16:25

lisa, you sound like you've had a really crap afternoon...stay in your chair and do nothing!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 29/06/2007 16:35

muppet - how funny about your friend!!! i remember how EVERYTHING seems like such a big deal first time round! at least she is relaxed about everything! she will learn and wish she had listened to you!

FT- dont panic! you will be fine! i personally wouldnt bother with breast pump or freezer bags yet. wait and see how you get on with feeding yourself first! you prob wouldnt want to /feel ready to express milk at first anyway. so wait until baby is a few weeks old and then buy it if you need it! i could certainly NEVER express enough to warrant the freezer bags! oh and i agree about the nipple cream stuff though that mrs fish mentioned and possibly some pile cream!!! (i asked my dh to get it for me and then he (being the divvy that he is) asked his dad to buy it for me!!!) i was SO embaressed!

had a MW appt today and apparently my baby is measuring as 31 wks! whoops! i am only 27 on sunday! she is seeing me again in 2 weeks to check that this baby really isnt a monster baby! my other 2 were quite ickle, so i am a bit shocked!!

MrsFish · 29/06/2007 16:36

Blimey greedy, either that or he has taken your MN name to heart

greedygreedyguzzler · 29/06/2007 16:37

oh dear lisa! have fun on MN and chill out now then!!!
i am in sawbridgeworth by the way, so not especially close to you

lisad123 · 29/06/2007 16:38

Hi Greedy, this is getting weirder. Im measuring 4 weeks ahead too
Im dd was only 5lb so was a little worried but their scanning me another 3 times so not panicing yet

I would agree, no point buying freezer bags or pump unless you need to. I didnt even buy any bottles

greedygreedyguzzler · 29/06/2007 16:39

i do feel bigger this time, but not THAT much bigger! not sure i want a monster baby! although i do have childbearing hips, so i guess i could prob cope!!! (ds was only 6lb 5oz and 8 days late!, dd was 7lb 7oz and on time!))

greedygreedyguzzler · 29/06/2007 16:40

lisa - my edd is actually 30th sept now, they changed it at my 12 wk scan, but i never updated it on the stats list. so i THINK its the same as MrsFish!

glad you are measuring big too! (in the nicest possible way!) makes me worry less!

lisad123 · 29/06/2007 16:44

All my scans to date (5 so far) have shown baby to be a normal size, but then dd was "normal size" on scans but dropped quickly in last 3-4 weeks

maybe monster babies are set for that date this year LOL

Im dreading the GTT in 3 weeks, maybe thats why im big, hope not, the idea of sticking needles in myself is enough to make me crawl into my quilt never to return

MrsFish · 29/06/2007 16:44

Yup, I am the 30th september too

muppetgirl · 29/06/2007 16:47

I'm fine about being to big for dates now.....

oh Floria, you may want to buy some 'poo softening' tablets, can't rememeber the name but it helps ease out the first poo after lo is born. I had stitches so was vvvv grateful that my friend recommended it to me.

muppetgirl · 29/06/2007 16:59

have a look...
at this

ejt1764 · 29/06/2007 17:07

muppetgirl - I want one!!
Also, I used to think I was just being lazy when I figured that the dishwasher was hot enough ...

And as for measuring big for dates - when I saw the mw on Monday, I'm the opposite, am actually measuring small for dates - was fine at scan, but on Monday, although 26 weeks, was measuring only 22! MW wasn't that bothered though - she said that the fundal height measurements don't really count until you're 30 weeks + ... mind you, they don't like pressing too hard to find the symphysis pubis, as that's where I'm in most pain!

right, am going to try agan to watch bb ...

greedygreedyguzzler · 29/06/2007 17:14

poo softening tablets! i love it!!! i had forgotten the horrors of that first poo!!! i ate about a million plums to try and have the same effect! OH MY GOD! IT'S ALL GETTING A BIT REAL NOW! the whole pain of that first poo just came flooding back to me!!

lisad123 · 29/06/2007 17:16

ejt1764, I dont mean to sound paniced but if your still measuring small next time get them to arrnage a scan. My midwife didnt measure me at all during pregnancy and got to 29 weeks and doc in hospital noticed how little my bump was. Scan showed I had lost most of my waters without knowing it
I dont want to scare, and im sure your fine but just wanted to let you know my experience. Hope you dont mind.

the first poo...
when you feel like your entire insides are going to fall out and break your stitches.

hmmmmm
the memories!

lisad123 · 29/06/2007 17:25

sounds wonderful, I just remember trying to sit myself up in bed first morning after section and screaming

j20baby · 29/06/2007 17:32

Hi all

Inzi - poor you, sometimes people are just pricks aren?t they, and I am so sorry to hear about your sister in law shout as much as you want on here. Thinking of you

Lisa -sorry you?ve had a crappy day, how unhelpful can they be at the library! Should have hit them with your crutches! And stupid cats, I?ve got 3 and 2 of them never cease to irritate me.

Muppet- I so want one of them! It?d never be out of the bed mode though.

i am shattered, was on my feet all day at work and them come home to do more painting.

sorry if i've missed anyone out, took me ages to read everything, will need a new thread soon, will try to come back later to get a break from painting

MrsFish · 29/06/2007 17:41

We'll need a new title... little piggies bringing home the bacon..

maybe save that till we start dropping
May have to change the theme??

lisad123 · 29/06/2007 17:46

muppetgirl · 29/06/2007 17:52

muppetgirl · 29/06/2007 17:52

lisad123 · 29/06/2007 17:53
