Thought I'd get the new thread started as no one objected to my title suggestion

j20baby · 28/06/2007 19:45

Haha ejt, always wondered how you remembered everyone! and how cool is that, ds getting a chef's hat! don't know if we have pizza express near me.

thats it, thats all i remember what was said, sorry

had a lovely bath and nearly fell asleep in it, so not staying on mn long

alicet · 28/06/2007 19:45

ejt thats a fab idea having a word doc open at the same time!!! Can't believe I didn't think about it!

alicet · 28/06/2007 19:47

Love pizza express with ds too - dh and i try and get home early on fridays and pick him up from nursery together to go out for tea. Variable success at the mo but we will persist and hopefully it will pay off! He's usually pretty good (and loves pizza!) but doesn't like being constrained in his high chair...

greedygreedyguzzler · 28/06/2007 19:48

thanks for thinking of me j2o and alicet! i am not really ok at the moment so i havent been posting much. nothing major, just work worries and money and how i am going to find maternity cover, and if i cant how we are going to pay our bills! seems all a bit silly when i type it down, especially as some of you on this thread have real problems and things to worry about.
but thats why i have been quiet and not posting much cos i haven't been feeling very chirpy!
yesterday and the day before i spent practically the whole time in tears! i would be fine if we weren't in the middle of an extension which is costing a fortune! mind you, if i wasn't greedy for children and having no.3 then i wouldn't need the extra room so we wouldn't be having an extension and money wouldn't be an issue!!! Can't win really!

anyway, off to center parcs on monday (which we booked when we had money!!) so i am going to stop moping and start smiling!!!

whoever said about feeling out of breath, then i agree! i cant believe i still have 13 wks to go! i feel full term already!

greedygreedyguzzler · 28/06/2007 19:50

sorry, that was very ME ME ME! wasn't it? sorry!

greedygreedyguzzler · 28/06/2007 19:51

so ejt......you like BB do you?!!! me too! isn't Charley an angel!!!???

j20baby · 28/06/2007 20:01

aw greedy you can come moan at us any time you want! i feel like my posts are very me me me a lot of the time, usually cos i can't remember what people have said!

everything will sort itself out, don't you worry too much, and centre parcs?! lucky you, something for you to look forward to

nellieloula · 28/06/2007 20:45

Hi everyone. Hope you're all having a lovely evening and that Muppet is sneaking home early as I type!

Can't believe I missed a pizza express voucher! Nearly went there tonight but ended up having the greasiest fish and chips ever! Majorly dehydrated now.

Having breathless and loo needing moments too - I feel like I'm full term already.

Greedy - financial worries are just so draining aren't they? And new babies totally raise the issue = really try not to worry too much if at all possible (which is so much easier said than done I know). I hope CP does the trick andtakes your mind off it all a bit.

Alice - thanks for the NCT tip. I did it too the first time round and can you believe it, 3 of the couples moved away! I've stayed in touch with 2 other mums though which has been great, but both work now. That seems to be a realy problem here - there are LOADS of groups for newbies and younger babies, but they seem to dry up for the older ones, mostly because mums have gone back to work and the LO's are in nursery etc. Or, and how weird is this, the groups run from 12-2 which is bang in the middle of our nap time (and I'm just not ready to give that up yet!!) I'm going to look at a pre-school next week for DS to do a morning there - I think he and I are both ready for a little break from each other!! (sounds terrible I know) So that will hopefully help.

But listen, thank you for all your support. I have really appreciated it so much today - made it a lot easier. And apologies if it has all been incredibly self indulgent - that's just what happens when you don't have anyone to talk to though

j20baby · 28/06/2007 20:53

nellie, how old is your ds?

before i forget i've got a couple more names i'm mulling over

i quite like Isla and Aleigha, but i think they're both quite common and i want pretty but not so she has the same name as 5 others in her class.

so what about Ashleigh or Layla May?

honest opinions purlease

alicet · 28/06/2007 21:18

Sorry to hear you're having financial worries greedy. And don't be so apologetic for talking about it - your worries are no less significant or real than other peoples. If you're unhappy we are here for you. Here's hoping you have a lovely holiday and don't spend the week worrying. We're about to start planning an extension to our house so I'm sure I will be joining you in the financial moaning soon!

Nellie glad to hear you sounding a bit better. Know what you mean about naptime - ds is going to keep his lunchtime sleep absolutely as long as I can persuade him! Much as I love him and his company I really need that couple of hours to chill and do admin stuff. And MN of course!!!

J20 - regarding your names. I LOVE Isla - one of my fave girls names. Don't think its that popular either but I guess that might be different where you live - think names do vary a bit. Ella is another name I love but every other girl up here seems to be called it. Other friends who live elsewhere in the country say its really uncommon where they live. Of the others you suggest I personally am not so keen - not that I hate them or anything but just not what I would choose. Probably Ashleigh is my fave.

lisad123 · 28/06/2007 22:16

Hi Lisa, SOrry to hear about the sbp, not great by all accounts..

Nellie, money worries are all consuming so
don;t worry about talking to us lot about them.

I did sneak back in girls but did have a nice time but have left them to it.

Btw re common names do not call your son Oliver. we did and all and sundry have called thier children oliver or olivia. Having taught for 5 years adn discounted many a name as associated to many a sh*t of a child I have never taught a boy called Oliver so i thought we would be safe!

We like Henry for ds2.....

j20baby · 29/06/2007 07:44

morning all

am up early due to dd waking me up at 5.45 singing 'chips, glorious chips' to my bump-weirdo!

so am going to drop her off early and try to go get a sausage and bacon Mcmuffin and a hash brown before i go to work, yummy, am starving!! plus i've got a lot further to go as my works flooded so i've been told to go to another branch, which is further away. grrr!

was going to take dd, but she eats too much, have a nice day everyone

MrsFish · 29/06/2007 07:59

muppetgirl - I really liked Oliver but my mum has a dog called it, so couldn't really

j20 - Enjoy your maccyD's

Well weather is horrid here again today
Got my 3D scan in the morning though, CAN'T WAIT

MrsFish · 29/06/2007 08:00

Oh and welcome lisa

greedygreedyguzzler · 29/06/2007 08:47

thanks everyone for understanding my moans. i really am a whingy cow at the moment!

alicet - are you planning your extension for pre or post baby?

J2O - look at this website for names. its really good! you can type in your name and it tells you its ranking last year and so far this year so you can tell if its going to be really common or not! i keep using it all the time cos i change my mind every other day on names!!

lisa123 - whereabouts in herts are you? i am in herts too!

FloriaTosca · 29/06/2007 08:49

Welcome Lisa Greedy and I share your EDD (Greedy is having a little girl too...mine is a surprise)and EJT shares the dreadful SPD (sympathies ) (just so you dont have to read through all the back posts to see what you have in common with us!)

Nellie, sorry to read about how down you have been feeling... I hope some of the suggestions are do-able for you...I must admit that I have felt something similar since I married and moved out here 3 years ago (without anything to blame but my own diminishing lack of drive to get out and meet people)...I have applied for NCT classes in the hope that meeting others in the same situation will get me to kick start my social life again!

Greedy; glad you are back with us...you dont have to be feeling chipper and supportive, if you want to have a moan let us do some of the supporting for a change...I'm sorry about your worries, they do wear you down and make you feel guilty...we are in a similar situation so I do understand.. but I really believe it will all work out ok in the end for us...and for you too...try not to worry too much (so much easier said than done)

J20, I really like Aleigha...we are considering Alicia/Alyssia (my wonderful gran was Alice) though like you people keep telling me it is very poular at the moment which puts me off a little...and Isla is pretty too...Ashleigh isnt one of my faves (because I know 3 male Ashleys and went out with one of them )so it has the wrong connotations for me, but it is a lovely name. If ours is a boy I really like Ross, but Dh pulls a face every time I mention it ...time to get a baby name book I think.

OP posts:
MrsFish · 29/06/2007 08:54

Great link GGG - my name is now at 48 on the list

nellieloula · 29/06/2007 08:56

morning all - well yet another miserable, wet day here but not minding too much cause we have to wait in for a delivery and DS (who is 26months - sorry, can't remember who asked!)is happily watching Cars....how much tv is bad do you think???!

Names - I LOVE Henry; my little brother is called that and it has been a great thing for him, very memorable and still not that common. If we didn't already have one, this one would def be called that.

I really like Isla and haven't ever heard it down here (I'm in South East - lots of Lola's and Layla's though)I would have thought there would be more Ashleigh's than Isla's....as Alice says though, it depends where you are.

I would second Oliver and Ella being mega popular, and my little boy is Charlie which I had NO idea was so popular when he was born. I def want something a bit more different (but not too mad) for this one; DH and I can't agree on boys names (the girls' one has been set in stone for years!) and I have an enormous family so there aren't that many names left.....just feels so much harder this time round. And I do think boys names are harder generally.

anyway - hope the mcmuffin was yummy J20; that you're feeling a bit brighter today greedy and welcome to Lisa. Any baking this morning Mrs Fish? gives us something all to drool over again! I've made veg soup, but it's hardly the same have a good morning everyone.

lisad123 · 29/06/2007 09:13

Thanks for the welcome everyone.
Greedy Im in stevenage in herts, what about you. Never know might end up in hospital together if your nearby.
Im home with DD today (shes at nursery days a week) so have to find activities to keep her busy, might manage a slow limp down the local shop later, but a little worried she can move a lot faster than me , or take the bus to local library. I miss driving
Im sorry to hear about your money worried Nellie but be strong your get there. We are the same right now, especially with me off sick from work.
We really struggled for names this time, although Tanisha was emant to be called Erin but changed my mind at last mintue. I too used to teach but now work for ss so I always link names with certain children, its too hard!!
Hey the rains has stopped here, woo hoo.

lisad123 · 29/06/2007 09:19

Hi Greedy

saw your other message. Thanks for the offer but im broke
Im happy to try most things, but my SPD is complipacated by heart problems and problems for major car wreak last july. GRR
I had to ring physio because my thumb has gone numb, which in all likely hood it linked with the nerve damage to my hand last year.
Its really very strange, both is herts both due the same date...wooo spooky. LOL

muppetgirl · 29/06/2007 09:36

Morning all, just dropped off a confused Oliver this morning at nursery as he tried his new nursery yesterday morning.
'Mummy, which nursery am i going to today?'

Got my psychologist lady coming round today (from pnd) and are going to discuss my anxieties over due dates c-section/planned induction ect though having read your posts I really am beginning to think I'm over reacting....

J20 -I really want a mcDonalds now...

dh husband has eaten the only angel delight left (naughty naughty man) so will definately venture out should be interesting as they say don;t go shopping when you are hungry but they should say 'lock a pregnant woman up when she is hungry with cravings!!!

lisad123 · 29/06/2007 09:48

Morning muppet, I'll be in same boat next week, tanisha has her first school visit.
I tried to find your earlier post about C section due date worries but couldnt find it. I hope it goes well with Physch lady, and what ever it is your worring about, that she helps.

I keep having cravings for crap food which isnt good I also have a major weakness for dippy eggs and bread hmmmm.
