Thought I'd get the new thread started as no one objected to my title suggestion

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
KezzaG · 26/06/2007 12:24

I give up with this thread, I just cant keep up. Can someone do a weekly review for me so I can just get the highlights!!!

hope everyone is well. FLoria, I have read some of your posts. you seem to be handling your situation with real calm and dignity (well at least in writing ) If good wishes and sheer force of will can influence anything then the vibes you are getting from here must surely help.

nothing much to report from this end, Im sure baby has adhd, he doesnt stop kicking! Its reassuring of course, but he is one little tiger in there!

finalised my last day of work, Thursday 6th September. The countdown has started. I live on a tube route so if anyone does organise a city get together I would love to come along. LOL, if we leave it too late we are going to look a right sight all waddling along together.

and finally, does anyone know when Jade Goody is due to have her baby? She was at PAH at the same time as me last time and called her ds the name I wanted. I just know I am going to end up being in there with her mad family, and gawd help her if she nicks my name again!!!

KezzaG · 26/06/2007 12:25

ooh muppet, meant to say, you were great on Merc thread. I particulary liked "we play to our strenghts". good quote, I like it a lot

ejt1764 · 26/06/2007 12:26

hiya kezza - my official finishing date is the day after you ... baby brain means I have forgotten what that was since clicking "add" a bl00dy post!!

Bad news - Jade Goody miscarried ... feel sorry for her - mc is something you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy!

KezzaG · 26/06/2007 12:27

Noooooo how shit do I feel now. thats awful for her.

designerbaby · 26/06/2007 12:28

But which topic? Antenatal groups or pregnancy or somewhere else?

PolarMummy · 26/06/2007 12:41

Ok I think my brain is seriously mush today, I have just typed an email in work, re-read it and I had left words and letters out all over the place, seriously mad and I am supposed to be the IT Trainer at least I re-read it before sending it as it was going out to senior managers highlighting the poor accuracy of information being added into a system, could have been rather embarrassing would have looked as though I was taking the p*ss

Also just spend a large amount of money buying Bean bags online, think I have lost it today completely, oh well it will teach DH for going away and leaving me by myself

greedygreedyguzzler · 26/06/2007 13:02

hi kezza! how you doing? i keep trying to keep up with this thread but am not having much luck either. nice that you have a finishing date for work, something to look forward to!

work is really getting me down at the moment, its a long story, but basically i keep bursting into tears every 2 minutes and i just want to give up altogether and never go back. if only we had more money!

oh well.....off for another cry! (and some chocolate!)

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 13:16

Hi all, calmer muppetgirl here. Just got back from soft play place -god what the heck did our mums do before these places came about?

I agree with the gaviscon BTW with ds1 I remember going to see a recording of never mind the buscocks and because we were late they wouldn't let us in. I did the 'I'm pregnant and this is my last outing before the baby's due and we've travelled all the way from hungerford I'm not going home before i see something'. They realised I was indeed a mad pregnant woman and we eventually got to a question of sport 20th anniversay edition (I know but I was desperate)
We were sat behind the cameras which was just as well as I spent the whole recording necking gaviscon from my large bootle that was wrapped in a brown paper bag -yes I did have some strange looks
My ds went between shocked and mortified but it is a fond memory of pregnancy no1!

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 13:24

BTW anyone fancy a bit of a giggle do check out the mercedes thread, it's got really silly

KezzaG · 26/06/2007 13:40

hi greedy, why are you crying?? dont cry! what do you do again, arent you a chiropodist or chiropractor, or something beginning with ch? Is it too many cheesy feet that have got you down

designerbaby · 26/06/2007 13:59

Just found it (sorry - didn't realise there was something as clever as a search facility... dur)

It has gotten REALLY silly - just love it... the militant anti-sahm brigade seem to have stormed off in disgust, which is a shame as their lack of sense of humour was almost the funniest bit...

I don't get this "he bought me this" / "his money/my money" business. DH and I have one pot - currently we put in about the same financially and we buy what we need. My input share will decrease when this little one comes along, but I'm sure neither of us will feel differently about it even when I'm putting in less/nothing... we'll just be contributing in different ways.

Anyway thankfully all this is irrelevant on this lovely thread...

I love my job/career but quite looking forward to a life change after this one is born... A change is as good as a rest, so they say...

DB
xx

Mumpbump · 26/06/2007 14:31

Designerbaby - work suits went out the window a few weeks ago. Nothing, but maternity wear for me now!

Greedy - what's up? Do tell us why your work is getting to you. A bit of venting might make you feel better apart from anything else. I (and I am sure at least a few others) have had to endure sh*tty work situations, so you're not alone - except if it does involve cheesy feet!

FloriaTosca · 26/06/2007 14:31

Polar; Ooh how I wish you hadnt checked that e-mail and had just sent it...now that WOULD have been funny
Muppet; shame the womens lib brigade have stopped responding on the merc thread...I was about to join kewcumber and nearlythere in the corner for a good view of the action, some pocorn and helping out with the awarding of points
Good job I had nothing important to do this morning...I've just sat on here on MN having a good giggle...it's been as good as a holiday!! Reality hits...I've got to go teach in a few minutes . Enjoy the afternoon those of you lucky enough to do so.
Kezza, thanks for your kind words, I you a finishing date...I wasnt completely joking when Dh said he wants me back out in the Paddy Fields within an hour of dropping the sprog (his horrid terminology not mine)
Greedy, I'm sorry you are upset (((huggss))), you dont say what it is thats bothering you, but if it is someONE in particular, threaten to throw water on them and watch them melt a la wicked witch of the west..or click your heels together saying "theres no place like home" (but I think I've told you that one already) Works for me anyway

OP posts:
muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 14:34

My lovely son has jsut done a poo on the toilet (a big deal in our house!)
...and his lovely mummy could be seen to do a blinding version of 'the poo dance'. (A big deal to lovely son!)

ah....whatever gets you through the day

MrsFish · 26/06/2007 14:42

 at the idea of you doing a 'poo dance'

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 14:47

Yes, i used to have a career, responsibilties, adults who respected my opinions etc and now I do poo dances for 3 year olds....

Apricott · 26/06/2007 15:07

At least you're at home doing the dance adn your son appreciates it. I went to a meeting this morning, or so I thought. Arrived to find a very clearly 'end of meeting' scene and someone went 'shit we forgot you Alison'. They'd only gone and held the bloody meeting early, without me! Didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Was close to the latter for a minute or two I have to admit. Felt like I'd been written off already, when I still have months to go before I'm off on maternity leave. Harrumph !

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 15:09

Apricott that's awful...:O

Apricott · 26/06/2007 15:22

There were lots of apologies flying about, but talk about being made to feel like the spare wheel!

I think I'll get over it ... eventually ...

Apricott · 26/06/2007 15:23

ooh look - more smiles than intended.

Ok - quick question - how do you do italics on here?

And any other top tips for amusing threads? Mercedes thread was quality!

MrsFish · 26/06/2007 15:32

italics see the codes just above the emoticons to the right of the posting box

ejt1764 · 26/06/2007 15:35

very quickly - am supposed to be updating schemes of work for the nqt starting with us next year ... I feel a bit guilty for abandoning the poor chap - but it's not me who's retiring!

italics - put a ^ around the word - mine's above the number 6 ....

just love italics ... think I probably overuse them!

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 15:44

bold

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 15:44

tee hee

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 15:44
