Thought I'd get the new thread started as no one objected to my title suggestion

Fab news inzi!

PolarMummy · 25/06/2007 23:25

Thanks ejt, I am trying to be calm about the birth in a kind of, what will be will be kind of way, this baby has to come out some way and so I am trying not to stress about it too much, having said that I will probably completely freak out about it closer to the time!

Inzi, great news everything went well and I am glad you were able to get another scan in two weeks time

Am feeling a bit "funny" tonight, it feels like I am light headed but its weird I am not sure if that's it or not so automatically I am putting 2 and 2 together and deciding that it must be because of the high blood pressure result I got at the scan last week. I am also feeling a bit alone because DH is away all week and I can't get hold of him on his mobile

FloriaTosca · 25/06/2007 23:43

Great news inzi! I'm glad they are keeping a close check on you and LO and making sure you are reassured as much as possible. Oh and feel free to voice an opinion if you want...no one in our family seems to think twice about it, so nothing you could say would upset or shock me I assure you.
Sorry you are feeling blue Polar (((hug)))... I know how you feel ... I thought I was lucky this week in that my Dh is for once NOT travelling... but so far today I saw him for 12 minutes while he wolfed down his breakfast and then for precisely 5 minutes while he changed before taking clients out ...I managed to tell him about the scan, he patted the bump, kissed me goodbye and he's still not home! Hope you get a mobile signal soon.
I'm off to bed now, night, night all. Sweet dreams!

Morning everyone - great news inzi, so pleased it went well and you'll be having another scan etc. Polar, I know exactly what you're going through - I started feeling really odd yesterday, dizzy and just a bit out of sorts but have put it down to being on my own (which brings its own emotional stresses) and lack of sleep - the bloody seagulls are waking me and DS up at 4.30 every morning and once he's up it is impossible to get him back to sleep - any tips on that one (short of using a gun and believe me I considered it) would be much appreciated. catch up with you all later.

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 07:55

Morning all. just successfully negotiated the minefield of he 'spoons' at breakfast.

ds 'This isn't my spoon, mine has a face on it. This is a BIG spoon.'

Me 'Your spoon is still washing
(slight lie, diswasher finished but so far had got up from breakfast table to let one dog out, then sat down the other wanted to go out -the can never go out together!- then ds wanted the sugar....)

ds 'i want my rocket spoon then'
me i get up to get the bloody rocket spoon...

I really should work for the u.n.

nellieloula · 26/06/2007 08:02

so with you muppetgirl - just had the same thing over a cup 'where is my purple cup??' - and on that (slightly!) can I ask ladies, how many cups of tea and coffee are you having each day? caffeinated that is. Just wondering if I'm overdoing it on that front. With DS I didn't drink any caffeine, but the thought of doing this without a cup of tea is just too horrendous to contemplate! Would be very interested to know.......

MrsFish · 26/06/2007 08:02

Morning everyone. Well its better than yesterday morning, NO RAIN, actually a bit of sun, although it is starting to cloud over again now

Glad your scan went well Inzi.

MrsFish · 26/06/2007 08:04

nellie - my intake per day differs, sometimes I have none, others I may have up to 4 cups of tea, depends if friends are visiting or not. Usually it seems to be one cup of cappuccino light (those sachet things) and one cup of tea

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 08:22

ATM at least 3-4 cups per day not all decaff.
Am trying really hard to drink loads of water also.

We've just watched the magic roundabout which ds loved (don't buy happy feet, it was rubbish! even ds went out of room and when he came back asked if he could have his programs on -obviously happy feet was counted as mummy's shit programs!)

MrsFish · 26/06/2007 08:24

Ah, thanks for that muppetgirl, I was tempted to buy it the other day and it was still one of those on my list

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 08:25

Shame it was one of the films i'd bought yesterday as part of bad mum day (doughnuts, films as rainy day and not feeling well)

MrsFish · 26/06/2007 08:30

How are you feeling now..any better?

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 08:41

Much better thanks
It was the old headachy thing -the doctor gave me some co codemol (Spelling sorry) as when you say you've got a headache people who aren't pregnant don;t seem to realise how much it actually aches....

I don;t think the weather helped either.

PolarMummy · 26/06/2007 08:41

Thanks for the sympathy girls, DH called at about 12.30am as he had got my email asking him too Mind you the LO did a nice little wriggling session when I was in bed almost like they were saying its OK I am OK

Think I will go and get my Blood Pressure checked this morning as its on my mind and could be completely un-related to how I am feeling, I know this sounds strange but it could just be the weather I suffer with my sinuses!

When you are talking about cups of tea and coffee is it China style cups or mugs? I am a mug type person and I am drinking on average 2-3 a day. Do also remember the chocolate counts towards the caffine intake too

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 08:41

I don;t know if anyone else gets this but the headaches are over my right eye and in my nose!!

Never had achy nose before!

PolarMummy · 26/06/2007 08:46

OK Just found some advice on caffine intake in one of the books I was given by the midwife

Its says you shouldn't have more than 300mg a day which is roughly equivalent to:

3 mugs of instant coffee or
3 cups of brewed coffee or
6 cups of tea or
8 cans of cola or
8 (50g) bars of chocolate

Hope this helps

PolarMummy · 26/06/2007 08:47

muppetgirl, I get that too and its linked to my sinuses!

MrsFish · 26/06/2007 08:47

PolarMummy - I drink mugs

I think you are fine with the amount you are drinking, just have lots of water too I ought to take heed of that advice too

I don't tend to eat chocolate so don't need to count it. In fact since I was ill at the weekend (and cleared my system out ) I have decided to try and be really good and healthy for the next three months, one to feel the best I can, two so lo gets all he needs, and three to try and limit the amount of weight I put on, as I have out my quota on already

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 08:52

Does anyone have experience of a woman called xenia on mn?

MrsFish · 26/06/2007 08:54

Nope??

muppetgirl · 26/06/2007 09:07

Oh, just me then. I know she's purposely inflamatory (Spelling) but i can't help rising to it
