OOh dont like that weight gain calculator 1st 1lb !!! I've put that 13lb already! I prefer the one that told me I'd gain 22lb (cant remember the site though) I have half a chance of staying on target for that!
J20 I hope you are feeling better, take it easy and get checked over asap if not.
Inzi glad your Dh is better, dont forget to look after yourself too!
My goodness you lot are early to bed tonight....having had 9 hrs last night I fell asleep for 2 hrs this morning too, so I think I'll be up for a while yet!!!
Thanks for all the sympathy about yesterday, it is wonderful to have people who understand to let off steam to!

OP posts:
ejt1764 · 16/06/2007 09:29

j20 - hope you are ok this amorning - thinking about you!

inzi - as for my hair, it was meant to be ... yesterday - the originl appointment was for the day I had the bleed, then I had to cancel for my back, then she (my lovely waxing lady!) had to cancel as she had an infection, and didn't want me to get it, then I had to rearrange as my childminder's little girl broke her leg and they had to go back to the hospital ... if I hadn't won some cash on the lottery yesterday (and found out by getting cross about a late payment charge my credit card company were trying to make me pay) I wouldn't have had my hair cut at all ... still swishing it this morning.

Am a bit this morning - waiting in for virgin media technician (again, they were supposed to come on Wednesday) - not terribly hopeful of them turning up again today - our set top box went bang 2 1/2 weeks ago, and was replaced - 3 day wait - no digital tv... that box lasted a week before it went bang ... was told there was a 1 week wait, and that they'd come on Wednesday - nobody turned up - I phoned and stropped at the bloke, who told me that no visit had been booked for that day, and that we'd have to wait til today ... they'd better turn up today or I'm going to be getting really mad ...

Also, we have our shopping delivered by Tesco - they're usually pretty good, but yesterday our order just didn't turn up! we phoned them last night, and nobody had a clue where it was ... I've just phoned again this morning, and apparently our order was on the van - it just got returned to the store for absolutely no reason ... it will be delivered by 12 today ...

never mind - have some quiet time, so can do some more reports....

have a good weekend all!

HonorMatopoeia · 16/06/2007 10:25

Morning all,
J20-how you feeling this morning? Hope the flashy lights and dizziness have gone (sorry I missed your last post, conked out in bed! )
Oh ejt,I sympathise with the whole waiting in thing, drive you mad doesn't it?
I had my hair done last week and have kind of gone for a 'pob' (posh's old hair do that was long at the front and short at the back) would never have thought it would have suited me - am an easy size 16 / 18 even when not pg - but looks quite ok and is very manageable, loving it!
Right, I'm off to Worcester to try and find my Dad a mouth organ in the key of c for father's day!!
Have a good day
(oh yes and in a rare night out opportunity,Dh and I are off out to the theatre tonight and going for a meal first !!!!!)

j20baby · 16/06/2007 12:03

Morning everyone, dizziness isn't too bad today, didn't sleep too well, but i feel ok, think it might be being on the internet that is causing the dizziness!

am crossing everything for good weather in Blackpool

i could do with a really nice hair cut and maybe a bit of pampering, would love to have a massage, but the only place i could afford would be the local college beauticians practicing on me, and they said they wont do it when your pg, not fair!

hope everyone has a nice weekend

alicet · 16/06/2007 13:02

Well hello all! Been away awhile - in London for work on Thurs and not back till late, then completely exhausted on Friday and in bed by 7pm!!! Has taken me ages to catch up!

J20 - glad you're feeling better today. You have been manic recently - I think you should listen to what your body is telling you and slow down! I had a lot of dizziness when pg with ds1 and ended up being signed off about now as I kept fainting at work. So look after yourself and rest as much as you can.

HMP - hope you have a lovely time tonight!

inzi - glad dh is feeling better

Pheebe - congrats on your little boy! I too am expecting a second boy and although had thought I'd like a girl as for me too its going to be the last one I was actually relaly pleased to be having a little boy again. It will be lovely for ds to have a brother.

Nellie - glad all was well with your scan too although sorry you didn't have the best experience. Sounds like the docs were a bit tactless although I guess the consultant does have a duty to warn you of the risks associated with a section. Could have done it a bit more tactfully though!

Polar - the chinese chart had predicted a girl for me and also that ds was a girl - so not always accurate!

MrsFish - we had a 3D scan for ds1 - it was absolutely fantastic. Going to arrange one when we're about 30 weeks this time too. Sure you will really enjoy it! And funnily enough the pictures do look like him as well!

Unicorn - welcome!

ejt - great plan to chat to your pil's with your family there too as they then can't take it personally. And you will have some back up if they are unreasonable!

Floria - sorry you had that scare - you must have been terrified. Really good to hear its all fine though...

Buffy - will just add to everyones comments that I think your school has behaved appallingly. I think he should be allowed to keep his inhaler with him if he knows how to use it (I guess they might be worried that children couldn't use it properly and might not ask for help until they were really ill? Just a thought...). But to not give it to him because they were having dinner if absolutely appalling.

Hello to everyone else!

Just been to try out pushchairs today. Was pretty keen on the Phil and Teds sport but when we put ds into it there is this metal bar above his head that he will hit with his head if he grows about an inch taller. Not great design!! He also looked really uncomfortable. And other tandem pushchairs were really difficult for me to manouvere with him in the front seat so we will need a side by side. Trouble is that our front door is really narrow. Now looking at the mountain buggy urban (will get second hand on ebay) but can't find anywhere near us who stocks them to try it out. Boo!

Have also bought a new cot with a drop side. ds has a cot bed and the sides are fixed. I am beginning to struggle now to get him in and out with my bump in the way! SO will put him in the new cot until ds2 arrives then back into his original one when I can get him in and out again!

Phew - think that will do for now! Think my longest post ever!!!!

j20baby · 16/06/2007 19:50

hi all

alice - my body is a pain, i've got so much to do, and it can't keep up with my head! but i will try to take it easy for a few days, was going to strip woodchip wallpaper in the kitchen tonight, but decided to go out for a bit.

i've just had a mouthful of fortified wine, apparantly it is full of iron, and i feel a little bit tipsy! don't worry everyone, i wont drink the whole bottle but it is lovely, highly reccomended to those that aren't worried about a tiny bit of alcohol, just a little bit mind you, right i'm off, hope you all have pleasent and uneventful rest of the weekend x

j20baby · 16/06/2007 19:56

p.s forgot to say, i've got a low cut top on and my (.)(.)'s are huge, hope they dont fall out but nothing else went with my maternity skirt.

right am really going now, byeeee x

MrsFish · 16/06/2007 20:34

Just done the weight gain thing. Says I should gain between 1st 1 and 1st 11, I've put on 1st 11 already

Managed to get online again, had a huge thunderstorm yesterday after my last post and the router blew up, so we have had to get another one today.

Ejt - your hairdo sounds lovely, has inspired me to book in and have mine done next week.

J20 - glad you are feeling better today and have a good evening.

Buffy = yes I feel hungry all the time, see 1st paragraph

j20baby · 16/06/2007 23:33

mrsfish-it is just an estimate me thinks

well i've been out, got rained on, got barged about and shoved, stamped my feet at people for being inconsiderate, ignorant drunks, came home and had pizza

night all

j20baby · 16/06/2007 23:45

maisym, if your having problems, we're here for you if you need us x

WinnieThePooh · 17/06/2007 09:26

HI all,

Sorry I have not been about for a while. DD has been keeping us up at night in the week complaining of a sore bottom. Took her back to the docs on Friday and got a different cream which seems to be doing the trick.

The weight gain site says that I should put on 1st 1lb, so far I have LOST 1lb. I was a bit overwight to start with though. I wonder if that means I have actually lost more. I am not worried about our little girl though as she seems to wake up when I go to my bed and then proceeds to kick and punch for about an hour.

Sorry I have not had time to catch up with everyones posts. I hope everyone is feeling better today.

buffythenappyslayer21 · 17/06/2007 09:31

hi everyone!

j20 how you feeling?im still gettin dizzy, but havent had any more flashing lights.dh has the phone ready to ring mw if i get them again!told him it was just a migraine i had but hes starting to get worried.bless him.

alice ive just bid on a side by side maclaren on ebay.they are only 76cm wide.just hoping i dont get outbid as i really like this one!!decided that we needed one because if dh has to go out near school time, and im left with baby and dd ,dd cant walk far without getting out of breath,so decided would be best to have a double, just incase im on my own with both of them.know what you mean about the phil and teds,we thought about getting one (i like the apple coloured one!) but when we saw someone with one,and how their 2 lo's looked very uncomfortable (especialy the bigger child) we decided to look around.

dh has decided as for a pram for the baby.weve got a jane slalom for dd (great if you do lots of walking) and he wants another for the baby, and i can get a carrycot for it aswell,so baby will be flat.

anyone want to borrow my dh?yesterday he made me a vanilla cheesecake and a banoffee pie!!!havent tried the banoffee pie yet,but the cheesecake is yum!!am just about to have some for my breakfast!!(us preggie ladies are allowed to have yummy things for brekkie!!)

mrsfish,im always hungry, but when i eat i only manage a bit before i feel full, but then about an hour later im hungry again!!and now with dh making me yummy puddings im bound to pile tonnes of weight on!(funny thing is though i lost half a stone in the beginning and havent put anymore on.bet i pile it on towards the end though.

anyway my cheesecake and ribena has arrived!am off to munch!!!have a great sunday!!

j20baby · 17/06/2007 10:36

morning all

winnie hope your dd feels better soon, my dd gets this a lot, but thats because she's a mucky pup and sometimes forgets to wipe when she's been for a wee.

buffy can i borrow him, i so want to have breakfast brought to me! i really fancied macdonalds sausage muffin this morning, but by the time i was up and got ready, it would have been too late!

i'm feeling ok this morning thank you, i'm going to go shopping then start stripping wallpaper later on, i wont be able to relax till its been done.

hi to everyone else

alicet · 17/06/2007 12:10

buffy we looked at the maclarens in mothercare too - they look pretty good and like you say they are nice and narrow. Would prefer to have one with a carrycot though so the baby can face me... I don't think the perfect double buggy exists - maybe I should invent it!!!! I too like the apple green phil and teds best although dh wouldn't hear of it and likes the boring black or charcoal ones. Boo!!!!

J20 glad you're going to take it easy for a bit!

Not done the weight gain thing - our scales are v inaccurate so not sure how much I've put on. Think I'm pretty lucky though in that I don't seem to put on a massive amount (going by how I feel in myself that is) - bump and boobs and other than that things stay pretty constant. Last time most of my weight gain was in the last 6-8 weeks or so. Not got a massive appetite now (although do some days) but ate like an absolute pig in my first trimester. Just couldn't get enough carbs!!!!!

Hope you're all having a good weekend. Ds up this am at 6.15 which is an improvement on yesterday at 5.15 but still not great - mornings are NOT my best time! Still we've been out swimming with him and he's now asleep so some chill time me-thinks! Catch you later....

alicet · 17/06/2007 12:11

And winnie - hope dd is better and tat you get some sleep soon. I think its really tough when they sleep well and then for whatever reason regress for a while - its so much harder to cope with than when you're used to it!! Thinking of you...

inzi hope you have a fantastic holiday! Is your back fully recovered by the way? Hope so!! And congrats and fingers crossed for your brother...

j20baby · 17/06/2007 14:48

hi all

inzi-i really hope you have a fantastic holiday and the weather is good for you

well girls, i'm in a bit of a state! my midwife came round this morning to tell me that my urine test came back and i've got strep B, i am horrified, apparantly its common and i haven't done anything wrong, but i still feel like sh*t. she's stuck a bright yellow sticker on the front of my maternity notes so everyone can see it, and apparantly as soon as i go into labour i have to go straight in to have intravenous antibiotics and then again 4 hours later, then after baby's born i need to stay in for 48 hours to check that she's ok, as it can cause meningitus and septicaemia and pneumonia. everything seems to be going wrong with me at the moment! anyone got any experience of it? am off to post a thread in the pg topics and also to google it
