@39Suzy it was high. I thought they'd said 4.1 but the notes all say 5.1.
I'm sorry you've been through it Flowers

39Suzy · 10/10/2018 08:29

@treaclepie19 the waiting is the worst bit ☹ but fingers crossed you get some positive news x

italianwifey · 10/10/2018 08:42

@treaclepie19 will be thinking of you, hope you’re okay Flowers did they say when you will find out the results?

Treaclepie19 · 10/10/2018 08:43

Thank you. I'll be honest, I'm a complete mess. They said up to 2 weeks for the results... I'm seeing the consultant Monday.

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 10/10/2018 09:26

Sending you good thoughts @treaclepie19 my friend had a 1:2 chance of downs so was very worried but baby was completely fine, but it’s hard not to worry. The NIPT give much clearer results, it’s a shame it takes so long for the results.

Treaclepie19 · 10/10/2018 09:41

@SheRaTheAllPowerful, thank you lovely.
What's bothering me is that it's the NT thats so high. If the nt had been low and blood results had brought it up I don't think I'd have been so worried.
Just got to wait and see I suppose.

ashley992 · 10/10/2018 12:33

@Treaclepie19 Not nice that you have to worry about it. Hope everything turns out to be ok. I've been having cramp type feelings so I'm going to hope it's the uterus stretching but hasn't stopped me worried and frantically checking for blood!

sodababy2 · 10/10/2018 15:10

Hello everyone, hoping I can join?

I've been lurking as been worried things will go wrong but I've had my scan and blood results through and all is looking good so far fingers crossed!

I'm 14 weeks today, EDD 10th April. This is my second baby. My first has just turned 2.

I'm already enormous! I didn't have a bump this big until 20 weeks last time!

Definitely feeling period type pains at the moment as well @ashley992 Hoping it's just growing and stretching.

Sorry about your NT result @Treaclepie19 They definitely won't make you wait 2 weeks if there is a problem though. They said to me I'd get a letter within 2 weeks if I was low risk but a phone call in 3/4 days if I was high risk. Do you know when you'll get your NIPT results? Fingers crossed for you.

Treaclepie19 · 10/10/2018 16:36

@sodababy2, 2 weeks is for the NIPT results. They said the normal results will definitely be high so I'm not really counting down to them.

sodababy2 · 10/10/2018 16:56

Ah right, sorry @Treaclepie19, got confused. That is a long wait for you then, how difficult for you.

Treaclepie19 · 10/10/2018 16:57

No it's okay, didn't explain it very well.
I just don't know what to do with myself.

italianwifey · 10/10/2018 18:22

I’m sorry @treaclepie19 really hope you’re okay. Obviously you won’t feel reassured until you get some results but at this stage nothing is a certainty... otherwise they would just tell you then and there there was a problem etc. Sorry I know that probably doesn’t help :-( can’t imagine how you must be feeling. We are all here for handholds, and keeping everything crossed for you xxxx

italianwifey · 10/10/2018 18:24

Ps that is not at all meant to sound like I don’t understand that you’re worried, but just thinking that there must be some people who get told they are high risk then get told things are okay on the NIPT? Meant to try and reassure a little so I’m really sorry if that doesn’t come across in that way.Flowers

Treaclepie19 · 10/10/2018 18:25

Thank you @italianwifey
I'm just taking it bit by bit. Monday I'm seeing the consultant so that's the first milestone.

5tarlight · 10/10/2018 18:39

treacle that is a long wait, am keeping everything crossed for you. xx

monkerina · 10/10/2018 19:05

@treaclepie handholding xx

NothingisForgotten · 10/10/2018 21:37

Hi everyone, I saw my little Button on the screen today. Bit awkward as moving around a lot and wouldn’t fave the right way so she couldn’t do the nuchal test, I have to wait for my blood test on 1 Nov. EST due date now 18 April. I think 21 based on LMP. Hope everyone is ok

Treaclepie19 · 10/10/2018 22:08

Thank you ladies xxx

Glad all is looking okay @NothingisForgotten :)

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 11/10/2018 09:34

Any tips on headaches? I’m getting terrible headaches, currently in bed. I’m trying to drink more water but I drink lots anyway.
Have you guys switched to decaf tea & coffee?

italianwifey · 11/10/2018 15:18

@shera yes but I’m still having two caffeinated drinks a day... one tea and one coffee (although some days only one). What about you?

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 11/10/2018 15:57

I’ve still been drinking tea couple of cups a day, don’t think it’s that or dehydration but I feel rubbish :(

Ohnonotanotherusername · 11/10/2018 16:06

@SheRaTheAllPowerful apparently headaches can be a symptom in the second trimester. I've been getting them as well, been taking paracetamol but can't say it's been that helpful. I've also managed to get an absolutely horrendous cold which has completely knocked me out for the last week obviously haven't been able to take anything for that either, the joys of pregnancy.

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 11/10/2018 16:08

Last pregnancy I had n ear infection and I felt like someone was stabbing me in the head. Every cloud I suppose, it’s not that bad.

Griffer · 11/10/2018 20:13

I've been getting 1 or 2 headaches a week. Last all day and virtually dibilitating. I'm prone to migraine, but haven't had any since becoming pregnant, so thankful, as no idea how to cope without medication.
I spoke to a pharmacist today after another headache. Paracetamol is the only over the counter medication and only if necessary. She did recommend 4head that you rub on your... forehead. Never tried it before, but it reduced and soothed the pain, so I'd recommend that.
My consultant said cocodamol is ok to take, but it's not available over the counter anymore.

monkerina · 11/10/2018 20:57

@SheRa 4head might help (menthol stick to rub on your forehead) or a cool pack on your forehead/over your eyes?
