Thanks @Shera definitely going to be harassing them today as I don’t want to just be lost in system of scans even moreso now I’m further along than I thought.

Good luck to everyone getting scanned today can’t believe we’re at the scan stage already

MigMog · 08/10/2018 13:03

Scan went super. Really clear chilled baby. Had to give it a wiggle to get it the right way around. Lush clear images too. Can't believe how much detail they can see.

@spr1107 that sounds horrible - you don’t sound like a moaning Minnie at all - being sick and feeling sick is awful and u shouldn’t have to suffer unnecessarily. Hopefully they can give you something to help! I think I read at this stage not too worrying to have lost a bit of weight as often people have so try not to worry about that part too much - but good that you are getting some help.

Treaclepie19 · 08/10/2018 13:38

Don't worry about the weight loss @SPR1107, I lost a stone last time and they weren't in the slightest interested.
Hope they can help you.
Lovely scan pic MigMog :)

Footymum81 · 08/10/2018 15:18

14+6 today and hopefully get to hear baby's heartbeat today! Step sister is bringing round her midwife kit after work as she wants to be the first to let us hear it. Have had to promise I won't panic if it takes a while/she can't find it as it's very early but really hope we can.
Hope everyone's doing ok.

SharedLife · 08/10/2018 17:08

I've been a real chicken and been a lurker so far. In my last pregnancy, I joined a club and then had to leave after bad news at 12 weeks. Didn't want to do that again this time so waited for the scan. It was all good. Looking just as it should!

Due April 17th.

I'm in love with this little face!

@sharedlife I wish I’d done the same. So nervous about Wednesday now Sad

Creas35 · 08/10/2018 18:01

@sharelife congratulations!! Glad it went well for you! I still have a week and a half until my scan seems like so long away!

SharedLife · 08/10/2018 18:03

The other side of coin is that you will have all of our support if you do get bad news. But, odds are you'll be sharing your lovely scan pic on Wednesday!

5tarlight · 08/10/2018 18:39

wit, migmog and shared, congrats on the lovely pics! Mine was today too, i was really not expecting all the movement: wiggling, twisting, waving and opening mouth like he was saying something! It was hilarious! They had a new machine so the sonographer was taking some extra time playing with the settings which was great as we had more time to sit mesmerized watching the screen! Saying that it was a new machine, the pic is not as clear as others but will try and attach.
Dated at 12+2 today, so due 20th April (one day later than based on LMP but bob on what I thought based on ov - thanks again fertility friend!) I've done the Iona blood test so should get those results next week. Planning to tell the ILs tonight (my mum's known since wk 6). Feeling like it's all a bit more real now! Smile

SharedLife · 08/10/2018 18:45

That's awesome 5starlight great that you got so much time watching baby, and a lovely pic!

Footymum81 · 08/10/2018 19:10

Wow! We did manage to hear baby's heart, very clearly. 150 bpm. We got a sound recording of it too. We could also hear mine at the same time.

SPR1107 · 08/10/2018 19:17

Congratulations @SharedLife and @5tarlight lovely scans.

Wow that's great @Footymum81, bet that was amazing to hear. And how handy is it to have a midwife in the family!

Doctor prescribed me anti sickness tablets, went over to the pharmacist, who asked to have a word, she basically said, she doesn't want me to take them, she wouldn't if it were here, that she's sure I'm not daft and can weight up the risk and benefit but to be cautious... so now she said that, I can't take them because I would never forgive myself. So back to square one!

SPR1107 · 08/10/2018 19:18

My spelling was awful there! Hopefully you got what I meant!

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 08/10/2018 20:16

@SPR117 I would ask over on the hypermesis thread, there are quite a few experts who lurk & help on there.
The pharmacist said the same to me about my laxative & supposity prescription, I came home and googled the hell out of it, and used them based on lots of info saying people have used with no issues.
The doctor wouldn’t issue if it didn’t say, safe to use in pregnancy.

SPR1107 · 08/10/2018 20:52

Thanks @SheRaTheAllPowerful, I'll have a look. The doctor said the manufacturer doesn't recommend them in pregnancy, but continued to prescribe them anyway, so who knows!

ashley992 · 08/10/2018 21:37

A friend recommended this book which I ordered and arrived today. I wish I had it from as soon as I found out but I didn't want to jinx it! It's very useful and think I'll be using it instead of Google from now on! The chapters are split into months and then each month is broken down into weeks. Really easy read!

We told everyone yesterday after our scans. We were just so excited.

Last night I did start thinking that maybe we were too early and that we should have waited for the bloods to come back.

Did anyone else go for it? Or did you all wait for your results first?

Treaclepie19 · 09/10/2018 07:54

MigMog I've been wondering the same.
Everyone who needs to know knows but not sure if I should hold off the public announcement. Problem is I sort of want to tell people soon because I'm a bridesmaid in November and don't want to be turning up obviously pregnant without lots of the guests knowing already. Imagine the AIBU thread.
I wouldn't worry too much, something can go wrong at any point in pregnancy but the chances are it will be ok so don't fret.

I have my second attempt at a dating scan today. I'm quite nervous :/

monkerina · 09/10/2018 08:41

Lovely scans ladies! 😍 @footymum I've got a home doppler and have been listening to hb since 8 weeks, so reassuring after previous losses! Very convenient to have a midwife in the family Smile

Hope all goes well today @Treaclepie x

On pregnancy blogs/what to expect, do look up Alphamom- written by an actual mum during her pregnancy rather than from a more scientific perspective, I love it!

monkerina · 09/10/2018 08:43

We told parents and bosses after 12 "week scan and bloods came back, all my mum friends know already, other people will find out as we see them I guess. Not doing a Facebook announcement or anything

Footymum81 · 09/10/2018 08:49

@SPR1107 it was amazing. She found it straight away after making me promise not to panic if she couldn't as it was still very early. We both have recordings of it ❤️
At one point you could hear baby's heart racing away and mine sounding very slow at the same time. Baby also kicked a few times which made a funny 'blip' sound.
Good luck to those with scans today and tomorrow.
We told the rest of our immediate family after the scan then went public once they had all heard direct from us. I'd known for about 9 weeks by then so was relieved not to have to keep hiding it from people!
5 weeks today we have our second scan, DH wants to find out team pink or blue but I can't decide! DD was a compulsory surprise as our area wouldn't tell you back then.

donna474 · 09/10/2018 18:52

@ashley992 I've got this book too as well as the happy birth book

Treaclepie19 · 10/10/2018 07:52

Unfortunately our scan showed a high nuchal measurement. In limbo now waiting to see whether the NIPT comes back that baby has any problems or not.

39Suzy · 10/10/2018 08:18

@treaclepie19 what was the measurement? These tests are normally very alarming but usually turn out well. Easier said than done (and i have been there with not do good results) but try not to worry x
