Aww lovely @ashley992 :)
My son was the same. Upside down, little monkey.

5tarlight · 02/10/2018 20:16

WhereistheWit yes would def try and get the scan in before the booking in appt, you need it before 13.5 wks to do the NT I think. Perhaps call midwife triage or the hospital itself.
Ashley yep have also never seen on that way round before, crazy to think what they are getting up to in there!
Great to see so many lovely scan pics, 1 week to go for us.

monkerina · 02/10/2018 20:20

Wit, is it the midwife you've booked to see or the doctor? The midwives definitely need to know you'll be so far along by your appointment- can you Google the community midwives team number for your area? In my area at least the midwives are based out of the children's centre but do most of their appointments at the various GPs surgeries, so although the GP receptionist makes bookings you can call the midwives directly with questions or issues like this. Frankly I think they'd be horrified! X

monkerina · 02/10/2018 20:22

If you're more than 13+6 at the 12 week scan I think they offer blood screening (so same as the normal screening but without the added data point of the nuchal translucency) or maybe CVS/amnio here.

Treaclepie19 · 02/10/2018 22:17

Gah I'm so stressing about my scan tuesday now. This will be the second time theyve tried to do the screening. Before they dated me at 10+6 so couldn't do it.
Thing is by my lmp on tuesday I'll be 14w. By their dates i should only be 13+3.
I tried to ask the midwife but she hasn't got back to me yet.
Im guessing there's not much they can do before then now anyway.

italianwifey · 02/10/2018 23:47

It’s so stressful isn’t it with all the uncertainty about dates. @wwhereisthewit I agree with the others about calling the hospital or midwife - I’m sure they can try and fit you in. I swapped hospitals and although my new booking in isnt until next week, I’ve got my scan at new hospital Thursday. Give them a call and see what they can do maybe?

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 03/10/2018 12:09

Any news @WhereistheWit?

Who has bought maternity jeans? I think I might need to, I seem to have really popped! I look the same at 11&3 as I did at 17 weeks last time!

SPR1107 · 03/10/2018 12:33

Anyone taken any bump pictures? I haven't bought jeans yet as mine are stretchy but don't think it will be long. I struggled to find any last time that weren't really baggy on the legs. I hear TOPSHOP are brilliant but they're like £40.. call me tight but feels a bit of a waste

monkerina · 03/10/2018 13:08

No bump pics yet- at 14 weeks my bump is mainly ice cream 🐷 but I can feel my uterus when I lie down!

Dragged last time's maternity wardrobe out, turns out H&M over bump jeans were a favourite! They don't fit yet so I have 1 pair of slightly threadbare boot cut Blooming Marvellous under bump jeans til they do. I think I picked up some maternity bundles on ebay before as £40 per pair of jeans seemed a bit steep for short term wear, then bought Primark tops in a size or two bigger, plus a coat 3 sizes bigger. Luckily DS was a February baby so the same seasons!

italianwifey · 03/10/2018 13:54

I have been taking pics but I’m not sure it’s actually a baby bump or as @monkerina says if it’s mainly ice cream 😂
I did buy some from h and m because mine are getting tight and thought I would be prepared, but haven’t needed to actually wear them yet!

WhereistheWit · 03/10/2018 15:05

Hi thanks for the amazing advice everyone, I’ve been at work today but I’m going to chase it up! I was quite surprised the doctors didn’t really seem bothered I was so far a long! The appointment is with the midwife on the 15th but now I’m back im going to make some calls and try get a definite answer from hospital or midwives as I’m running out of time at this rate.

On a positive note though nausea seems to have subsided lately. How is everyone else’s symptoms?

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 03/10/2018 15:43

I’ve just thrown up massively so it feels like it’s stepped up a notch here :(
I would definitely speak to a Midwife Wit I’m sure they would want you urgently in for a scan.

SPR1107 · 03/10/2018 16:30

I can see some definition in mine, but DS is only 2, so wondered if that's why (I never attempted exercise after him so muscle in tummy are weak at best)!

I've had acid reflux for over a week now, haven't been able to eat anything but dry chicken, oatmeal and green veg.. yey! If I ate anything else, it wouldn't go down and I threw it back instantly. Went doctors today and got some medication, so I'm hoping for the best with that!

ashley992 · 03/10/2018 21:52

I feel like mine is huge already. I had a relatively flat stomach before!

How many weeks are you Ashley? That’s a proper bump Smile

ashley992 · 03/10/2018 22:04

@SheRaTheAllPowerful 13+2 Confused

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 03/10/2018 22:08

Can you believe we’re a third of the way through. I need maternity jeans!

SPR1107 · 03/10/2018 22:24

Do you find it grows as the day goes in @ashley992

I do my 'bumpie' on an app every Friday. These are 4 weeks and 12 weeks

ashley992 · 04/10/2018 07:47

@SPR1107 it definitely gets bigger as the day goes on! It's there's in the morning but not as big or hard!

italianwifey · 04/10/2018 08:55

Can deffo see a bump for both of you! Lovely... I can’t wait until mine turns into a proper bump! Might have to get that app @spr1107.
Scan today at 3.45, really nervous!

SPR1107 · 04/10/2018 09:50

Wishing you the best @italianwifey!

The app is called Baby Centre and in tools it has the bumpies, baby names and a contraction timer

Eastend2015 · 04/10/2018 13:31

Good luck @italianwifey! I have a scan privately and harmony test results back next thurs when I should be 12+2, nhs scan is the following Tuesday. I’m so nervous about it all-everything seemed ok at 10w scan but I know things can change. We have had 4 losses and one healthy DS, so this is my 6th pregnancy in 5 years. The morning sickness has been by far the worst this time round so really can’t go through it all again. I’m in a new job too so while I am hugely grateful to be pregnant again I am really struggling the manage expectations at work with the sickness, tiredness and anxiety Sad

Dani7 · 04/10/2018 17:25

Hi everyone. I had my scan on Tuesday, all good and healthy. And my due date has stayed exactly the same! So now I feel like I can stop worrying and start enjoying my pregnancy - how do I go about joining the fb group?!

39Suzy · 04/10/2018 17:39

@spr1107 yes! Mine grows through the day although is mostly bloat than baby 😉 i use BabyCentre too and i do like it.

Lovely to see all these scan images on here. My 12w scan is next week (i will be 12w 4d then). Sickness is getting better but still knackered. Going to try and keep it quiet until our 16w scan on 5th Nov as just not ready to share yet.

Griffer · 04/10/2018 19:27

Hi all,
A friend recommended I join this group. I'm 14+2, due 3rd April.
I'm 33 and this is our 1st. A bit unexpected.
I've had sickness, extreme fatigue, bad bloat and acid reflux throughout. Really hoping it'll ease up soon.
