Hello! I've had iron supplements too after haemorrhages and a blood transfusion, and like @awkwardasallgetout was told that the prescription ones are much much stronger than non-prescription- could you get a phone appointment with the GP to check what they advise? Also be aware of the constipation and odd coloured poo, it can be quite a shock!

Lovely scan pics ladies 😊 am rubbish on nub theory I'm afraid! My nuchal measurement was 1.9mm at 13+5, no call back so I'm reasonably sure it was a dodgy call the other day at an inopportune time.

How're the D&V sufferers recuperating? I'm still ridiculously weak, DS and I spent the entire day watching movies yesterday and I reeeeeally have to force us out of the house today but don't wanna 😥

Stargirl7 · 28/09/2018 08:03

@SheRaTheAllPowerful, yes we paid privately for it. In my first pregnancy we got to anomaly scan and because they had to redo it (baby not in a good position) they didn’t pick up my daighter’s Cleft until 24 weeks and they were convinced she had a syndrome. We had to endure amino and a pretty painful wait for results, so we thought we’d throw everything we could at this one. The Panorma wasn’t really around when we had DD in 2014, or I wasn’t aware of them. I say this absolutely not to scare you, just that we had a definitive reason for wanting them. I needed that peace of mind. If that’s something it can offer you, then I’d definitely do it. Don’t be fixated by the age thing, am sure it will not be a factor lovely. Pm me if want any more info. X

newrubylane · 28/09/2018 09:06

That's really helpful, thanks for the advice both of you. I think calling the doctor first is probably the best idea, rather than ring myself in knots about it! X

39Suzy · 28/09/2018 09:16

@alltheprosecco my first was a stillbirth sadly (TFMR) but i am getting lots of extra care in this pregnancy x

AllTheProsecco · 28/09/2018 09:22

@39Suzy so sorry to hear that but glad you are getting looked after so well x

39Suzy · 28/09/2018 10:15

@alltheprosecco thanks, have you told your older one about your impending arrival?!

AllTheProsecco · 28/09/2018 11:01

@39Suzy she's only 13 months so definitely wouldn't understand. I think she'll be ok cos she's really good with other children.

ChocolateChipMuffin2016 · 28/09/2018 12:09

Had my scan today, went well and due date stayed the same. I was quite worried (not sure why!) so it was really nice to see baby wriggling around on the screen!

MigMog · 28/09/2018 17:33

I still don't have a scan date. I'm 12 weeks on Sunday and it's over 2 weeks since booking in.

Apparently my application for a scan got lost on the IT system. It was getting faxed to the hospital this am. I rang up at the end of the day. It still hadn't been received.

Feel like I'm being messed around.

I hope when it arrives they turn it round quickly. I don't want to wait weeks and weeks.

MigMog · 28/09/2018 17:34

congrats by the way to you all on your scans.

Creas35 · 28/09/2018 17:43

I had a voicemail from midwife saying bloods picked up low iron and they have sent my prescription to the chemist. I am so grumpy and tired at the moment. We Haven’t told anyone but my mum who’s away really want to wait for the 1st scan which is in 2 weeks! Nausea has stopped so just the fact I’m eating like a pig and nothing is healthy to sort out!! X

newrubylane · 28/09/2018 22:32

@Creas35 sounds like we're having a similar experience. Was told yesterday my iron is low too, and I also have my scan 2 weeks today. I'm still absolutely shattered as well, but my nausea is slowly subsiding. I'm definitely less picky about food than I was a week or two ago, at least. They tell me it gets better, so we just have to hang on in there for the scan date and the second trimester. Not long now!

italianwifey · 28/09/2018 22:52

Glad to hear you haven’t had a call @monkerina, that’s good news! @migmog I would chase that up again if I were you, what a pain, hopefully they give you one ASAP. @chocolatechip congrats on the good scan! I’m really worried about mine next week too. Is anyone else finding their clothes are getting tight? I could swear I’m getting the tiniest bump and keep taking pics at all sorts of angles to see 😂😂

monkerina · 29/09/2018 07:30

My results came through yesterday, very low risk, slightly ashamed of myself for stressing over a missed PPI call now!! Blush

Not gonna lie, I've been in under the bump maternity jeans for a fortnight already- soooo comfy. My stomach muscles have totally given up, clearly!

Who's got scans this week???

SPR1107 · 29/09/2018 08:53

That's good news @monkerina. The whole process is one big worry!

My dating scan is Monday morning (scan number 3) but I'm still petrified

Lazysundays · 29/09/2018 09:15

@monkerina super to hear! Lol PPI!
My scan is Monday am. I’m petrified as well because of the stress my body has been under due to family circumstances since the 7.5 week one

Ohnonotanotherusername · 29/09/2018 10:29

That's good news @monkerina - I've been in maternity jeans since the day after my 12 week scan - so much more comfortable.

ashley992 · 29/09/2018 13:01

I had my 12 week scan Wednesday and everything was ok. Will be 13 weeks on Monday. Yesterday evening I noticed a small amount of blood (pinkish) when wiping. It was only when I wiped and didn't last through the night and has not been there today. I haven't phoned anyone about it because I assumed no clots and the fact it's stopped is probably ok? Well that's what I'm trying to tell myself!! My boobs hurt the same amount as they did the day of the scan when everything was ok so I think I'm worrying about nothing? It's certainly not nice and very unexpected to see bleeding, especially when we have told our family and friends our news! Anyone had anything similar?

MomoTheLemur · 29/09/2018 21:37

@ashley992 I did! I had a panic last Friday (alternating light pink on wiping, and light brown on wiping and alarmingly for me some clots/tissue with it too) continued the same for me on Saturday along with mild cramping on and off. By the evening my DH called our Gyno ward (don't have an EPU as far as I know) and they advised to wait and see unless very heavy bleed or severe cramping and said unless that happens chances are it's all within the normal amount of pregnancy bleeding. For me this really helped reassure me, and come Sunday symptoms reduced further and I went to the normal scan appointment I'd already had booked on Tuesday. Aaaaand baby is all good! 12w1d on day of scan. ❤️ Just thought I'd share, as it really did help me to have them reafirm that unless bleed is heavy (even with small clots) things are likely ok. Hope all is continuing well for you! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

ashley992 · 29/09/2018 22:13

@MomoTheLemur thank you for the reply! I've still had no further bleeding so I'm going to hope all is ok!

italianwifey · 30/09/2018 21:13

@ashley992 hope you’re okay! Sounds good that it has stopped, the likelihood of anything going wrong now you’ve had that 12 week scan is very slim but you could always call your mw if you are worried. I’m glad I’m not the only one struggling in normal clothes. I have no idea if I just got a bit fat eating ice cream every night haha or if it is beginning of a bump but am going to tell
Myself it’s the latter. 😂 I weighed myself this week though and I haven’t actually gained any weight which seems odd?? But maybe it’s just redistributed...

shamofamockery · 30/09/2018 22:36

Hi all - had my 12 Wk scan last week, all went well & baby jumping about, Ive been put as a >1:10 chance for pre eclampsia (new test they do in my area looking at bloodflow in and out of the placenta. Will be checked every 2 weeks, have a few extra scans and am on aspirin for remainder of pregnancy. Anyone have any experience of this?

SPR1107 · 01/10/2018 09:17

Scan in 20 minutes... sat in car park trying to down water. Anyone else find it such a chore to drink so much when you're queasy?! Especially at this time of day! Already need a wee Grin

SPR1107 · 01/10/2018 09:21

No experience of this I'm afraid@shamofamockery. But great that you'll be kept a close eye on throughout

MigMog · 01/10/2018 09:39

@SPR1107 I'm still waiting on my scan date (12weeks) but slightly dreading the drinking so much water part!

I always need a wee before a doc appointment (habit) so how will I ever manage so much before the scan! Lol

I'll be fit to burst once I'm out!
