newrubylane · 24/09/2018 14:21

Hello. Already posted this on another thread, but I've followed you here. (I feel like a creepy internet stalker already) Anyway, I'm also due in April. It's my first baby. I'm about 9 weeks (9+4 according to the internet dating gods, but we'll see!) and have my first appt with the midwife tomorrow.

newrubylane · 24/09/2018 14:22

internet dating gods did not come out sounding like I meant it!

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 24/09/2018 14:50

Welcome @newrubylane

Creas35 · 24/09/2018 16:44

Hey all! 9 wks and scan on 17th October! Haven’t told anyone except my mum as she’s now away for awhile! Really want to but also want to make sure everything is fine first! I feel like I’ve put on a stone a week as I only want to eat bad carbs!! Just had a stomach bug as well so hoping that hasn’t affected anything but sure it will be fine. 2nd for us!

Footymum81 · 25/09/2018 08:04

It's scan day here in the footymum household! DD has gone off to school with a promise that I'll send her a pic of the scan at lunchtime. Then all being well a trip to the new five guys in town for lunch for me and DH. It's his first so he's a bag of nerves this morning bless him. Nausea is fnally subsiding here which is a massive relief but eating a big meal gives me awful indigestion.

italianwifey · 25/09/2018 09:09

Welcome to @newrubylane and @creas35 I have just come down with a stomach bug too, I’ve never felt so bad!! Projectile vomiting last night :-( hoping too that it won’t affect anything. @footymum81 good luck with the scan, hope it all goes well for you!

Lorrie3 · 25/09/2018 09:44

Good luck with the scan @footymum81and sorry to hear your ill @italianwifey not good but i hope it passes quickly.
I've been hit with the wall of exhaustion since yesterday im 9 weeks so thought it would have hit before now but apparently not... never experienced anything like it and i feel so useless!!

italianwifey · 25/09/2018 12:45

Thanks @lorrie3 - re the exhaustion I know how you feel!! Mine seems to have mostly passed now but Right from when I found out up Until 9-10 weeks I was absolutely shattered! Just nap and rest when you need is what I was told - it’s hard though if you’re not used to doing that, I’ve never been very good at just trying to relax!!!

AllTheProsecco · 25/09/2018 14:49

A little late to the party but due 21st April here.
Already have DD1 who was born August 2017. Anyone else crazy enough to be going for 2 under 2?

So sorry to read some of the bad news in the recent posts, Flowers for you all x

newrubylane · 25/09/2018 15:06

Had my booking-in appointment with the midwife this morning. She was an hour late, which was a bit annoying, but was actually very nice, and it was really helpful to have someone explain the whole process of scans, appointments etc, since this is my first pregnancy. I feel like I have a better sense of what's going to happen next. She took about a gallon of blood to test for various things, which is never fun. As I expected, I'm mainly low risk, apart from a relatively low BMI, which might mean I have to have some extra scans. Otherwise it all sounds quite straightforward and positive at this point. just waiting for my dating scan date to land in the postbox now... eek. (And to try and sort out the almighty mess that occurred at work this morning in my absence... sigh)

monkerina · 25/09/2018 15:20

Welcome @newrubylane @creas35 and @alltheprosecco Smile

Sorry to hear some of us have been unwell- I managed to pick up a D&V bug on top of a nasty cold, Sunday night was NOT a good time! Have been in bed ever since, trying desperately to recover enough strength to go back to looking after DS tomorrow but still feel so weak when I do anything.

I did get DH to pour me into the car yesterday morning for my 12 week scan though- baby likes sleeping on their tummy, sonographer made me do some jiggling (very unwelcome in my condition!) and they eventually turned over and gave us a wave 😍 all looks good pending the nuchal screening results and I've been moved forward another day, due date now 3rd April. Baby was also not keen on revealing sex, DS was legs akimbo and clearly a boy at this stage! Good luck today @footymum!

Treaclepie19 · 25/09/2018 15:58

Gosh sorry so many of you have been ill!
Welcome new ladies :)

Lorrie3 · 25/09/2018 16:48

Any tips for what i think is sciatica? I have a pain in my left hip as if something is sitting near the front and then a sharp pain coming out the back of my thigh! Pretty uncomfortable!

italianwifey · 25/09/2018 17:07

Ahh lovely pic @monkerina, sorry to hear you’ve had the dreaded d and v too!!

Ohnonotanotherusername · 25/09/2018 17:29

Lovely pic @monkerina glad it all went well Smile

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 25/09/2018 18:32

So cute Monkerina :)

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 25/09/2018 18:33

Lorrie I saw a physiotherapist last pregnancy and she actually did acupuncture which helped a lot. You might be able to be referred by yourgp?

Footymum81 · 25/09/2018 19:25

Hi everyone! Scan went well when dot finally moved so the sonographer could get the measurements. Due date is now 2/4/19 which means he/she is definitely a honeymoon baby! Had more blood taken for screening tests.
No pic from our scan yet as we haven't told all the family yet and want them to see first. Thanks for all the well wishes x
@monkerina I was made to 'jiggle' too, not fun with a full bladder!

Lorrie3 · 25/09/2018 19:34

Thanks SheRa i might check that out. 1st pregnancy and I'm 9 weeks but today was not a good day super painful and very uncomfortable!

SPR1107 · 25/09/2018 22:16

Sorry to hear of the losses some of you have suffered. I hope you're doing okay.

Hope everyone else is okay too! I know I sound bonkers at just over 11 weeks, I've been feeling baby move for a couple of days. The first couple of times I thought it must be wind or something, but I filmed it and could see it moving at the same time that I could feel it. I know I must sound barmy but I am adamant (baby number 2, so know what it feels like). Really interested to see if it moves on the scan at the same time as I feel it.

I had sciatica in previous pregnancy, I was told to lay on the edge of my bed, and just drop my leg off the side and let it hang there for a while
