I wear soft sports bras/crop tops from Primark to sleep, blessed with larger boobs so its a must regardless of pregnancy!

Cramps- mine have been the worst by far this pregnancy (pregnancy number 5, only 1dc though), so bad I had an EPU scan at 6 weeks. I assume it's my womb crankily creaking into gear again??

supersonicwoman1 · 30/08/2018 13:05

@5tarlight I'm 7weeks so haven't seen the midwife yet. I'm worried about ectopic pregnancy so I'll make an appointment with the gp.

5tarlight · 30/08/2018 13:20

@supersonicwoman1 yes definitely ring for an appointment. Strange how different areas operate, my GPs don't want to know anything about pregnancy, bleeding etc, but luckily the MW aspect kicks in earlier, had booking in today at 6w+6. I would insist on an early scan at this point so you get some answers. Good luck Flowers

ChocolateChipMuffin2016 · 30/08/2018 13:35

Well I had my first MW app this morning for what I thought was booking in but they’ve changed it my area. You now have a pre-booking in app with the MW at the doc surgery and then another full booking in app at the hospital at 12 weeks, she said it’s because the hospital have your full notes and the GP doesnt. So today she basically took bloods, urine, gave me some leaflets with basic info, form to fill in and send off for 1st scan etc and asked if I had any questions! Was about 15 minutes.

ChocolateChipMuffin2016 · 30/08/2018 13:41

I should add, she did ask me if I was taking vitamin D and folic acid. We have a history of spinal defects in my family so I’ve been taking folic acid for months and stared pregnecare in addition to that when I found out I was pregnant. So if you’re not taking them (vit D and folic acid) I would suggest that you might want to start.

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 30/08/2018 22:20

How long did it take to get your hospital midwife appointments? I went to the dr a week ago but still not heard anything.

kettleonplease · 31/08/2018 00:18

@italianwifey thank you :). Just selfishly asking to put my mind at ease as I had a scan at 5 weeks 3 days snd they didn't see a heartbeat so I'm now waiting anxiously for another appointment!

MigMog · 31/08/2018 08:52

I'm wondering the same. I went to the docs and registered on the midwife list 2 weeks ago. Not heard anything yet. I'm 7 and 6 now.

monkerina · 31/08/2018 10:20

Different areas seem very different with how they organise booking in! In my area you make the appointment via the GP's reception, have an hour booking in appointment around 8-10 weeks where they take bloods, do urine test etc, and the midwife informs the hospital to give you a scan date around 12-13 weeks. I think this is fairly standard, but in other areas midwives work out of hospitals rather than GP etc so they're entirely separate? I've got my booking in appointment on Monday when I'll be 9+3. If you're worried give them a call just to check their process is working and you haven't been inadvertently missed?

TheMagicTorch · 31/08/2018 10:33

@SheRaTheAllPowerful @monkerina might be worth calling as my GP forgot to tell me I had to self refer 🙄 the receptionist gave me the number for my local children's centre and arranged my booking in appointment with them

Ohnonotanotherusername · 31/08/2018 10:58

Mine seems to be similar to you @monkerina GP gave me the number to self refer to midwives - they gave me a date about 4 weeks ago - my booking in appointment is on Monday when I will be 10+3. Hopefully should get a scan date shortly after that.

I'm 10 weeks exactly today - feels quite surreal to be a quarter of the way through already!

hailstone1 · 31/08/2018 11:35

Hi all
Hope you're OK. I haven't had chance to catch up on all the thread yet.
How is everyone doing?

I'm 7 weeks today and most of my symptoms have gone. I've had a little nausea and backache but not much else. Should I be worried?
Hopefully it's nothing and all is still ok. Trying to stay positive but I've had cramps, sore boobs and a sore back since before I got my positive so to have everything disappear is a little scary.
Xx

MigMog · 31/08/2018 12:33

@hailstone1 I had similar earlier this week when I hit 7 weeks. I spoke a little soon. 7 and 6 now and had a couple days of feeling ropey. This morning I ate breakfast too late so felt super nausea, like about to be sick, I've never seen the other half run so fast bringing me a slice of bread.

Treaclepie19 · 31/08/2018 14:43

My scan date has come through for 3 weeks time. I'm so excited and so nervous!
I expected more like a 5 week wait so it's definitely cheered me up.

Dani7 · 31/08/2018 15:32

@ohnonotanotherusername Thank you for your advice. I’ve now been to the doctors - they gave me quite a scare talking about admitting me into hospital for dehydration but luckily I went early enough and they’ve gave me some tablets so I’m now keeping food and drink down Smile

@SPR1107 Thank you for that link - it has been so useful!

Had my booking in appointment yesterday. Feel so much better for having a point of contact now and lots of booklets and information. Making me feel much more positive now I’ve been able to discuss some of my worries. The appointment took about an hour and a half, included urine and blood test, height, weight, lung capacity, blood pressure and lots of questions about my health/family history. Strange how different parts of the country do it. Now to wait for the date of our scan!

Ohnonotanotherusername · 31/08/2018 15:47

@Dani7 glad they were able to help! I ended up in hospital on a drip once due to dehydration (salmonella not pregnancy) and it was not fun so very pleased that you avoided that Smile

cookielove · 31/08/2018 16:57

So I went to the epu today with bad cramps and what not! I have been put back to 5+5 And have another scan booked in for two weeks! That cannot come round quick enough!

Hope all is well, well as well as you can be Wink

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 31/08/2018 18:16

I’ve got my booking in appointment finally 10th September so I’ll be 8&1, going to wait and see on my scan date and if I just can’t wait am going to book a private scan.

SPR1107 · 31/08/2018 18:43

Sorry been distancing myself from the group for last week or so, as is resided myself to the fact that I was miscarrying. As scan two weeks ago showed baby smaller than i thought it should be and bleed is still continuing.

Been for a second scan today, and everything is fine!! Baby has caught up, strong heartbeat and they could see the bleed on the scan and said it's resolving itself now and it's not affecting the baby. New due date of 14th April, so two days different to what I thought, but they said might catch up again by 12 weeks!

Hope everyone's getting on okay! X

donna474 · 31/08/2018 19:13

@SPR1107 that's amazing news! So pleased for you. Can't imagine the last two weeks for you, best news that bean has caught up and all looks good 💐

BeeKeeping · 31/08/2018 19:27

That’s such wonderful news @SPR1107!! Over the moon for you! Xx

TheMagicTorch · 31/08/2018 19:37

@SPR1107 Oh my gosh that's bloody brilliant news 😍

SPR1107 · 31/08/2018 20:19

Thank you everyone! Such a relief that's for sure! Smile

italianwifey · 31/08/2018 20:53

@SPr1107 ahhh brilliant news I’m so happy for you! So glad the little one has caught up. We are really close in due dates I think - mine is between 11-17th but last one I think puts me at around the 15th!
@hailstone1 I’m sure everything is fine - I panicked so much about symptoms going but when I had my scan all was fine. They keep going and coming back so I think it might be normal!

Ohnonotanotherusername · 31/08/2018 21:36

@SPR1107 brilliant news! So pleased for you!
