@italianwifey hurray! That's great news Smile

MigMog · 29/08/2018 12:34

Congrats!!

Eastend2015 · 29/08/2018 12:34

@italianwifey great news!

Going for a scan tomorrow at 6+3, after 4 losses I really really want this one to stick. It may well be too early for a heartbeat too which will send my anxiety overboard Sad

italianwifey · 29/08/2018 13:04

@eastend2015 keeping everything crossed for you, I hope this is your sticky bean xx
Thanks, I feel relieved but am guessing this is only short term before I start panicking again! Just goes to show though, I was worried about all my symptoms coming and going and not having been sick but everyone is different I suppose!
Has anyone bought a sleep bra yet or able to recommend any from previous pregnancies?

Dani7 · 29/08/2018 13:17

Hi, Currently 7+3 and I’m really suffering with sickness now. Been feeling queasy for a few weeks and particularly when hungry. Last few days I’ve only managed to keep my dinner down. Same today but now I can’t even keep water down. Tried juice, tea, hot chocolate! The smell of milk sets me off! I’m well aware I’m dehydrated but im running out of ideas. I force it down me - small sips but it just keeps coming back up. Anyone got any suggestions or ideas? Ginger also came back up. Luckily I have my booking in appointment tomorrow with midwife so will speak to her then also. Thank you!!!

Ohnonotanotherusername · 29/08/2018 13:47

@Dani7 I've found sparkling water easier to drink than still and sucking on ice cubes. If you're at the point that you're struggling to keep liquids down, definitely speak to gp/midwife. Dehydration can be really nasty. Hope you feel better soon.

TheMagicTorch · 29/08/2018 13:56

@AmyRhodes so sorry to hear about your anxiety lovely. It's so hard I thought when I got my BFP I'd be so happy and that would be that but it's nerve wracking not knowing what's going on in there!
Can't wait for Sunday to arrive - don't think I'll sleep Saturday night

I'm coming off antidepressants too which is really affecting my mood and I've taken the day off work today cos the nausea is unreal 😭

@italianwifey yay that's fabulous news!

Treaclepie19 · 29/08/2018 14:45

@italianwifey lovely news!

@AmyRhodes possibly! I'll pop to the doctor tomorrow because the midwife wasn't much help. Just trying to keep calm about everything. If I'd known she wouldn't listen then I'd have booked a separate appointment about it with a doctor this morning as it was quite scary.

SPR1107 · 29/08/2018 18:13

Congrats @italianwifey that's great news.

I started a thread asking for morning sickness recommendations if it helps anyone

Been bleeding for over two weeks now, had a day where I stopped yesterday, then woke up this morning to a lot of blood!! I'm really not very hopeful for the scan on Friday!

Also getting more annoyed that the hospital didn't offer me a rescan and I'm having to pay private. The first scan showed 5.5 when I should've been 6.3. I didn't have sex after that so I can't really see it likely that my dates are wrong.. I guess there's a possibility. But I'm still bleeding this long later.. you'd if thought they'd look in to it a bit more!

Sorry for ranting

Shauni28 · 29/08/2018 18:44

Hello everyone!
We found out I was pregnant almost 2 weeks ago and due to an irregular cycle, I have an early dating scan next Thursday. I'm excited to see that there really is a baby in there as it just feels so fake telling people I'm pregnant just after seeing two lines on a stick! We think I'm around 7 weeks now, so due in April sometime!

5tarlight · 29/08/2018 19:21

Congrats @Shauni! Congrats also @Italianwifey on good scan news!
Also had my early scan today 6+5 at epau due to bleeding for 5 days in wk 4 and starting again yesterday ( and some cramps). Nurse said that some bleeding like last day of period, and cramps, were all quite normal, and blood can be from embryo burying further into womb lining, bowel movements , sex, or hormonal changes to cervix. Scan revealed tiny little blob with an even tinier heartbeat so am really relieved! For those worried about dating on the early scans, they gave me a nice vague '5-6weeks, prob 6' since when they do the abdomen scan this early is hard to be super accurate on that (would be more accurate measurement on trans vag, but since they could see heartbeat on the abdomen scan they didn't do the other. ) Hope that's helpful for anyone going through the same.
MW appointment tomorrow so i should be preparing for a form filling marathon by all accounts!

Ymamiss · 29/08/2018 21:50

Is anyone else really showing already? It's my 2nd pregnancy and I feel huge - I'll be 7 weeks on Saturday but I have a niggling feeling that I may be further gone and that July's 'period' which was v painful was an implantation bleed? It came after a 48 day cycle, so unlike my body. Please tell me I'm being silly - I'm overthinking things and starting to freak out that I may also be having twins. I wish I could have an early scan but can't afford the £89 as we are in the middle of a renovation. Sorry for waffling!

Ymamiss, I would go back to the dr and amend your dates to the previous period or call your midwife, as you should be scanned earlier if that’s the case. I think it’s worth insisting as you could be 11-12 weeks pregnant.

italianwifey · 29/08/2018 22:01

SPR1107 I feel for you, that is really annoying. Sometimes the NHS is rubbish. Could it be that your DPs swimmers survived longer than you thought? I’m pretty sure ours must have lived for 5 days as we thought we were pretty much out the month we conceived!!
@amyrhodes hope you’re feeling a litttle better.
@5tarlight congrats, isn’t it an amazing thing to see that tiny flickering heartbeat!!

Ymamiss · 29/08/2018 22:05

Thank you for the quick reply. I can’t stop thinking what if I am further on, but can an implantation bleed be similar to a normal period? The back pains I had were horrible and the only reason it’s stuck in my mind is that I was at an outdoor concert which was standing only. When I first rang the midwife she said they had no appointments next week available, but I may ring again tomorrow and explain that I am showing and that I think I may be further along. I will feel so stupid if I’m just a fattie Blush, I’m normally a size 12 with a bit of a belly but this feels like a proper bump, there’s no way any of my work trousers or jeans will go near me. My mum and MIL both commented on how big I am looking. Oh god I’m stressing here!

Mejse · 30/08/2018 06:00

@Ymamiss I'm pregnant with my second too, I'm only 5weeks and my stomach feels huge already. I had a lot of belly left over from last time and I'm super bloated at the moment.
If you are concerned that you could be further along I would mention it especially if you don't want to miss the time frame for the tests they do at the 12week scan

kettleonplease · 30/08/2018 07:05

@Ymamiss an implantation bleed would usually only last a day or two and brownish I think (or so the dr told me). I know this is a silly question, but could it be extreme bloating? I look very pregnant by the time I go to bed and really bloated. With my second I was probably showing from about 14 weeks but 7 weeks seems very early. Insist on a scan?

@italianwifey so happy for you that the scan went well :). Was that your second scan?

italianwifey · 30/08/2018 08:04

@kettleonplease it was my third somehow! I went to EPU because I had some stabbing pains at the start- first scan they couldn’t see anything, second they confirmed it wasn’t ectopic but no embryo yet, and third there it was! So no more now. A long wait now until my dating scan - mines not until 9th Oct when I will be just over 13 weeks. Has anyone else got their dates yet and how far along will you be when you have the scan?

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 30/08/2018 09:15

That’s good news Italianwifey, SpR I hope the bleeding has stopped xx

kettleonplease · 30/08/2018 09:16

Ah today must have been a huge relief then :). Do you mind me asking at how many weeks your second scan was?

italianwifey · 30/08/2018 09:40

@kettleonplease no not at all - by my LMP I was 5 weeks at the second one. They could see a sac and a yolk but no embryo. Then yesterday I could see it! They let me take a pic too which was nice! Pretty sure I can make out a head, although baby does look like a little blob at the moment!

supersonicwoman1 · 30/08/2018 10:48

Hi ladies, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing lower abdomen cramps? I've been having them since 8 Aug (which was when my period was due) they seem to be getting stronger each day.

This is my third pregnancy and I can't remember cramps lasting this long.

5tarlight · 30/08/2018 11:18

I think someone was asking re sleep bras? My boobs are on the large side and they are always sore in the latter half of my cycle anyway so I have bra-sized pj tops/vests from bravissimo. They have integral support,some have bra fastening. All are substantially supportive for pain free sleep and walking downstairs! (And I also do yoga in it in the morning) Would recommend, more comfortable than a bra I should think, though are not especially cheap.
@supersonicwoman1 I have had some cramps but very intermittently (maybe an hour or 2) and not quite as bad as PMT. I was told at epau yesterday some cramping is normal but if they are getting worse are you able to call you mw to discuss?

TheMagicTorch · 30/08/2018 11:39

@5tarlight I bought two of those from bravissimo they're so comfy!
