Yeah I've had sore hips and joints too.
Hopefully it'll ease. Last time I had awful SPD.

donna474 · 28/08/2018 12:41

I've just had my annual check up with my rheumatologist (I have psoriatic arthritis) and he was so knowledgable about pregnancy and arthritis, felt surreal talking with a medical professional about pregnancy and a plan of action. Not had booking in appointment yet so this is the first I've openly discussed it. I feel like less of a pregnancy fraud now!

organised5 · 28/08/2018 13:10

@kettleonplease yes that's possible. It's usually assumed that you ovulate (and so conceive) bang on 2 weeks into your cycle but some people ovulate early or late. If you ovulate late then your LMP date is still the same but it could mean your baby was conceived later in the cycle so is younger/smaller. Even though you're sure of your period date they will still adjust it so your due date is more accurate.

7 weeks today and the pregnancy tiredness is killing me! I’m self employed and a lot of my work is on a last minute basis and I’ve missed a big job today because I was asleep. And don’t forget the fact I’m meant to be actually doing stuff with my home days rather than sleeping! Roll on 2nd tri.

Is anyone considering NIPT/harmony scan? I’m not really in the risk factors for anything but I thought it would be a good all rounder scan and you can find out the gender as well through the blood test.

Annie264 · 28/08/2018 17:11

Had my booking in appointment with midwife today (I'm 9+1). Not much to report really, we went through loads of paperwork, did blood pressure and urine test. I'd already seen her 2 weeks ago for introduction meeting where she went through things, did my weight and offered advice. I should get a scan appointment in the post in the next week. I also have to have an early consultant appointment due to high BMI and family history of blood clots. Still a waiting game now really, but it was helpful that she reassured me with some of my symptoms ☺️

AmyRhodes · 28/08/2018 22:29

Having a shit time girls.

I really suffer with anxiety and I've spent these first few weeks thinking I'll be lucky if the pregnancy continues, rather than thinking I'll be unlucky if I have a miscarriage.

I'm mainly paranoid about missed miscarriage and I'm so scared to go for a scan and find that my pregnancy has stopped developing. I heard today about an acquaintance's miscarriage, so I stupidly bought loads of different kinds of pregnancy tests. All positive, but the digital dating one said 2-3 weeks. I should be 3+ as I'm supposed to be 7+2.

Feeling devastated and convinced that my HCG has tailed off because the embryo is dead.

Sorry for how negative this is. I'm really struggling with this first trimester bullshit.

italianwifey · 28/08/2018 22:35

@amyrhodes I don’t know if anything I can say will
Help but can say I really relate to this - I struggle with anxiety Too. I’ve had to stop
Myself googling things and repeat testing before! I’m not sure what the answer is but definitely checking and testing etc will only heighten your anxiety. Was it this afternoon that you tested?

italianwifey · 28/08/2018 22:36

Ps also meant to say, really hope you’re okay Flowers

AmyRhodes · 28/08/2018 22:49

Thank you @italianwifey

I'm trying to put things into perspective. My anxiety has been heightened by my lack of symptoms, spending the day babysitting my lovely baby niece, hearing about an acquaintance' miscarriage and my DP being away with work. Plus scan day looming.

I didn't use FMU, literally did the test this evening in a flurry of panic. I just so wanted it to say 3+

kettleonplease · 29/08/2018 01:53

@AmyRhodes I can't help you but I feel exactly the same, it feels like such a struggle to get through the days, I'm counting them down every second but the end of trimester 1 feels so so far away. It's so hard just to switch off and think 'what will be will be'.
I am feeling extremely ill but it's only started in the last 3/4 days, maybe you'll feel unwell too soon- or maybe you'll be one of the 'lucky' ones who just don't get any symptoms. Remember only 40% of women get morning sickness, it doesn't mean everything as to the progression of your pregnancy! Go back to the dr to check your hormone levels again if it will put your mind at ease?

Laney79 · 29/08/2018 07:18

@AmyRhodes I've heard the CB digital can be flaky - some get 3+ weeks straight away! So I wouldn't put a lot of faith in that. Anxiety is hard but unless you are bleeding or in pain try and stay positive. That's my motto, and my last pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage. The way I figure it nothing you can do will change things, so might as well try and enjoy being pregnant as long as it lasts-which will hopefully be at least 39 weeks.

Laney79 · 29/08/2018 07:21

@AmyRhodes oh and you're not the only one worried about lack of symptoms,..hardly anything here either, but as @kettleonplease says there's no guarantee that we'll get them at all, or that if something bad had happened they'd disappear.

It's really hard, I had a really anxious day earlier this week but I'm also desperate to enjoy my little bow as long as is possible. Hugs xxx

MigMog · 29/08/2018 07:57

Feel with you all. My symptoms have subsided a bit this week, but there's still some. Do you just find yourself being aware of every niggle and ache. The way I'm trying to think of it is that I'm eating well, sleeping, resting, doing everything I should. So if things went well then I've done everything I could. Also just focusing on it being fine unless I get really painful cramping and blood.

I can't wait until Oct when I'm through the first part.

MigMog · 29/08/2018 08:00

Also every pregnancy is different. This support group is great but sometimes it can make you compare yourself to others and their symptoms or experiences.

Just enjoy the ride. Enjoy not getting some of the nastier ones. I've not been sick yet, I hope that continues!

Verity89 · 29/08/2018 08:01

Hi Ladies! I'm unsure exactly how FG i am as i must have played early. Had sex 7 day's before my ovulation date so I'm guessing im a few days earlier than what it technically should be using the LMP date- anyone got any idea how to calculate this? Using LMP i am currently 5w5d b7t s i say th inking this could be slightly wrong due to early ovulation and Sloooow sperm!? Ha.
I am very nervous- first baby and hugely paranoid something bad will happen. Hoping for some reassurance from this thread. I had a few days of feeling very nauseous when i found out and that has since subsided. I have not had any sore boobs either. Very occasional sickly feeling, tired and have been a bit bunged up but other than that no substancial symptoms. I'm the type of person who gets taken out by anything and everything so was expecting to be a write off by now.
I have booked an early scan for some reassurance but may be a bit early- ill be at least 6w1d but ive been advised i could not have any heartbeat until later. I'm so worried as i am going on holiday a few days after and need to know all is ok . Xx

AmyRhodes · 29/08/2018 08:55

Thank you ladies 🌺🌸🌷 Not that I'm taking any comfort in your anxieties, but it's good to know I'm not alone!

I'm feeling a bit calmer today. I did another digital this morning with FMU (as per instructions!) and it said 3+

Feel a bit silly. DP is like "NO MORE PISSING ON STICKS!" and he's right! And @Laney79 you're right too. Nothing I can worry about can change anything, if I lose it it'll be sad either way, so I need to try to enjoy the now!!

@TheMagicTorch We are in sync (kinda!) I need Sunday to hurry up!! I reckon you'll get your heartbeat at 7 weeks 😊

italianwifey · 29/08/2018 09:47

@amyrhodes hope you’re feeling a bit better today. I had a similar thing when I used afternoon wee on a cBD and then next morning with FMU was much more accurate. Try not to worry, hopefully you will get to Sunday and all will be great :-)
I’m currently sitting in EPU waiting for my rescan. So nervous they won’t find anything :-(

Ohnonotanotherusername · 29/08/2018 10:12

Good luck @italianwifey Thanks

Treaclepie19 · 29/08/2018 10:14

I'm feeling very much like it will all go wrong too @AmyRhodes.
Flowers

After my horrible migraine yesterday just gel quite downtrodden. Seeing the midwife in a bit.

AmyRhodes · 29/08/2018 10:14

Good luck @italianwifey I've got everything crossed for you! 🤞🤞🤞

AmyRhodes · 29/08/2018 10:17

Good luck @Treaclepie19 Maybe the migraine is your body's way of telling you to take it easy.

Do you see the midwife today?

My usually very anti-social cat has sat on my lap, I think even he is telling me to chill out and sit still!

kettleonplease · 29/08/2018 10:27

Good luck @italianwifey

Has anyone else gone really off sugary food and hot drinks?

italianwifey · 29/08/2018 10:41

Thanks all. @kettleonplease I’m the opposite! Usually really into my savoury food but all I want at the moment are sour sweets and fizzy drinks!!

italianwifey · 29/08/2018 11:56

Just went for scan - all good :-) saw a little heartbeat and I’m 7wks 2 days. So relieved!

AmyRhodes · 29/08/2018 11:59

@italianwifey

Yay! That's so lovely. Congratulations x
