Anyone else?

I have quite long cycles but using OPKs, I have a rough idea of when I ovulated and have just got the faintest of lines. So 30 April or 1 May for me! Eek.

Hello, am I okay to join? :)
Not exactly sure when I ovulated but I got my first positive on a Tesco digital test on Friday, which is strange as I did a Clearblue one last Sunday and it was negative, then a First response on Wednesday which was very faint but positive! Still have a slightly faint line now but from doing the online calculators I am 6weeks plus 4! Hoping to go to the doctors on Tuesday or Wednesday when my partners home as we’re long distance! X

Hi to everyone just getting their bfp.
I'm going to wait to join the fab group until after my scan.
I got outed at work yesterday about ten minutes in in front of everyone Sad. I'm only 4+6 and was hoping to keep it under wraps a bit longer. The person that outed me was absolutely horrified as she's my friend and had no clue I was pregnant. I was hoping to just keep it to management but 3 other junior members of staff asked me outright through the course of my shift.
I knew it was a possibility due to the nature of my work but it's going to feel like an even longer wait now until my scan. I haven't even told my mum yet.

kiltedsheep · 10/09/2018 08:52

Welcome to all the newbies! Here's hoping and praying that our beans all stick.

@earlybirdhasanap Oh God - nightmare! Are you working in healthcare?

I know what you mean about a long wait until the scan. I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow and still haven't had a date for my booking appointment, never mind the scan.

@mayago @MauisLeftNipple I'm not considering Harmony this time round (unless someone advises me otherwise!) but I had it on the NHS last time round because my bloods were a bit odd. I was at King's College Hospital, though, which is an excellent maternity research hospital and everyone there seems to get offered every test under the sun on the NHS.

(After we got the Harmony results, it turned out that the reason my bloods had been a bit odd was because I'd had 3x M&S bramley apple hot cross buns an hour before I gave the bloods. Blush)

MauisLeftNipple · 10/09/2018 09:24

kiltedsheep I will keep that in mind and ensure I eat all the cakes AFTER any blood tests! How good are those hot cross buns though? I can never just have one.

mayago I've had a quick look and the Harmony seems to be at least £400 around here. Hubby is happy to pay - he basically thinks having a baby with DS would be the end of the world. I disagree, however for the sake of my marriage, well, I'll have the test and deal with the consequences.

Hello can I very quietly and tentatively join? Got my bfp last night on an IC and confirmed today with a FRER. Af was due Friday so I think I’m around 4+3 and due 17th May (ish).

Had a miscarriage this time last year at 4+6 so just taking it one day at a time right now.

This will be DC2 have DD who is nearly 3. We’ve been trying for 19 months and I’d just started to get my head around staying as a family of 3.

Firstbornunicorn · 10/09/2018 10:24

Sitting in work, trying not to chuck my guts up... Reminding myself that bub is worth it!!

I mentioned to my friend last night that I've been extremely tired (already have chronic fatigue, now got pregnancy fatigue on top and barely managing) and her response was "na, you're just lazy".

I was so angry and set her straight right away 😠

inkworks273 · 10/09/2018 10:24

How is everyone feeling today? I'm 3 weeks and 4 days and I'm feeling a bit yucky.

We have our honeymoon booked for when I'll be 6 weeks so I'm a bit worried about that.

I only found out I was pregnant yesterday. Should I be making an appointment with the GP?

rosettesforjill · 10/09/2018 11:00

@inkworks273 I like to get things moving straight away - no harm in booking the appointment then you can get dates in the diary!

Where are you going on holiday? Travel insurance normally covers anything outside "normal pregnancy" so you couldn't have routine scans or anything, but if anything went wrong (god forbid) you would be able to get medical treatment

Amolly · 10/09/2018 11:01

Hello all. Tentative join here. Got 3 positive tests Friday and Saturday. Had cramps now for approx 10 days. AF due tomorrow and getting proper period cramps now so I'm very stressy and worried. Got a clear blue arriving soon to check.

This is my first time ttc so fingers crossed. If it's a sticky bean then I'm due around 21st May x

fadgadget · 10/09/2018 11:03

6 weeks almost to the day and I suddenly felt VILE this morning, ugh. I had some light nausea up until this point which was easy to remedy with some food but this was much worse, dreading getting up tomorrow already, and the next day, and the next day, and the next.......

megrose24 · 10/09/2018 11:42

I’m very lucky and haven’t felt ill at all so far, anyone else? Slightly annoying actually as it doesn’t even feel like I’m pregnant at this stage, other than I felt mild flu symptoms the past two nights but nothing serious, just muscle and joint aches and feeling a bit hot!

goldopals · 10/09/2018 12:04

megrose24

I've been lucky so far as well. I also wish that I could have more symptoms apart from tiredness (which is a natural state for me).

rosettesforjill · 10/09/2018 12:10

@megrose24 I haven't been feeling sick either - I had a very mild wave of nausea this morning but nothing a fun size twix couldn't fix! I was lucky and didn't have any sickness in my first pregnancy either so hopefully it'll stay that way...

SurfingOwl · 10/09/2018 12:25

I feel absolutely fine as well which is increasingly so worrying me although from my vast amount of anxious internet research, I gather no symptoms is fine but when you have symptoms and then abruptly stop that it can be a concern. It still isn’t putting my mind at rest though.

I’m having a scan with the EPU next week so I am hoping to see a heartbeat there.

inkworks273 · 10/09/2018 12:51

@rosettesforjill We are going to Fuerteventura for two weeks. I just hope I'm not ill with morning sickness. I can't imagine dealing with all the travelling if I am. Will need to check insurance!

I'll call the docs in the morning and get the ball rolling Smile

rosettesforjill · 10/09/2018 13:16

Ah lovely! I'm sure you'll be fine Smile

Mejse · 10/09/2018 13:53

I didn't feel pregnant at all until just over 6 weeks, then it hit and now I feel so rough. I feel nausious all the time and have been sick a few times. Honestly the sickness hasn't made me feel anymore reassured, I feel just as anxious but ill on top

kiltedsheep · 10/09/2018 13:53

It's such a dusty old cliché, but I really can see now that every pregnancy is different. When I was preggers with DS I had no first trimester symptoms at all, other than being a bit tired. I even felt disappointed that I couldn't relate to all the morning sickness stuff that other pregnant women had.

And this time round, my symptoms are so strong that I swear I wouldn't be surprised if I was carrying twins. I feel constant waves of nausea (haven't thrown up though, so it isn't too bad), my boobs are too big for my bra, and I've even got a bit of a bump. How can you have a bump at just 6+6?

Firstbornunicorn · 10/09/2018 14:20

@kiltedsheep my boobs are suddenly massive!
Welcome to the suspect-I'm-having-twins crew!

kiltedsheep · 10/09/2018 14:23

@Firstbornunicorn Eeeeeeeek!

LittleTipple · 10/09/2018 15:10

@MauisLeftNipple I've had the Harmony Test with both my DC and plan to have it this time too. Yes, it is a lot of money, but it gave me peace of mind. I'd never heard of it with my 1st, but my midwife commented that Harmony is much more definitive that initial NHS tests and that made my mind up. If it did show up any issues, it gives us time to really think everything through and prepare for whatever we had to face. The other plus, is finding out the sex very early. I'm a planner and def wanted to know so I could buy appropriately!

SpannerH · 10/09/2018 15:10

Hi All, Hope you don't mind me joining. I was in the April thread but unfortunately miscarried at 5+3. on the 14th August. My HCG levels were 40 then 32 then 9 (each 2 days apart) hospital told me to take a test 8th Sep and let them know results. Its BFP! Me and DH have only done 'the deed' twice 21st and 22nd aug so it can't even be 3 weeks, yet the line on the test is a lot stronger than my last one at 5 weeks! Hosp asked me to go in today and my HCG level is now 270, I hve to go back in a week to have it done again and IF it has risen enough they are gong to do a scan to ensure it is a new pregnancy because they can't say with 100% certainty atm. Question;- I am going to a log cabin this up-coming weekend with a hot tub, and the Portugal on a girls holiday the week after (so 4th and 5th week of pregnancy) is there anything I should avoid? apart from the obvious alcohol! Thank you in advance!

SurfingOwl · 10/09/2018 15:17

I’m sorry for your loss @SpannerH Flowers I really hope all goes well with this pregnancy. I think that hot tubs are on the list of things to avoid, and also check food lists to make sure what you are eating is considered safe. I hope you are able to enjoy your holidays.

inkworks273 · 10/09/2018 15:34

My DH actually wants us to be having twins.

We want two kids and he thinks we'd be as well getting it all done in the one go Hmm

MynameisJune · 10/09/2018 15:46

@inworks273 said with the naivety of a first timer! I’d dread twins now I know how much hard work one is. Massive hats off to anyone with twins.
