Anyone else?

I have quite long cycles but using OPKs, I have a rough idea of when I ovulated and have just got the faintest of lines. So 30 April or 1 May for me! Eek.

I’ve just found out I’m expecting with a due date of May 14th - first pregnancy Eeek.
Would love to join a FB Page as I’m going to need to ask lots of questions. Can someone update on how to join it. Thanks

SurfingOwl · 09/09/2018 09:07

I think it depends where you are and what date you see your midwife for booking in @MrsReader. For me, the first midwife appointment is supposed to be at eight weeks but if you are late and go at 10 weeks instead, bloods are taken then. This is so you can get your combined test results at the time of having your scan, rather than waiting for a call or letter.

I’m scared about my lack of symptoms as well @thatshabbychick. I hope your scan on Monday gives you reassurance all is well.

Welcome to the new people and I hope all is well. For those who asked about the Facebook group, please just send me a message with the email address that you use to login with and then I can send you the link that way.

MissSmith80 · 09/09/2018 09:09

@surfingowl thank you - have DM’d you x

Shazafied · 09/09/2018 09:30

Guys I had no symptoms yesterday (until evening) and started to panic .... this morning I'm rough as owt. I know how stressful it is when symptoms disappear but it's normal so try not to worry. Have a lovely day all - very sunny here in NE x

tinyradish · 09/09/2018 09:35

Congratulations to those that have recently joined!

I had my booking in apt at 6 weeks - they did blood pressure, weight, blood tests, went through the medical forms & booked the scan in. Seems it must be different wherever you are.

Miserable with the sickness now - can't do anything. Going to have to arrange a Dr's apt & beg for tablets I guess?

MrsReader · 09/09/2018 09:47

Thanks for the info @UntilTheVeryEnd, that's really helpful. I need to stop worrying!

MrsReader · 09/09/2018 09:51

Thank you @SurfingOwl 😀

Welcome to the newcomers and congratulations!

inkworks273 · 09/09/2018 13:33

Hi everyone. I just got my BFP this morning. According to my app I'm due 23rd of May.

It still hasn't sunk in yet. This was our first month trying to I wasn't expecting it to happen so soon.

I've been feeling a bit sick the last couple of days and have had tender breasts but to be honest I thought I was just symptom spotting.

I know it's still really early so I'm trying not to get too excited. It's hard though!

Buenavista · 09/09/2018 14:05

Hi can I join too please, this is DC2, I’m about 5.5 wks due early May. Very few symptoms and lots of nerves here too. I’ve got an early scan booked on the 19th.

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 09/09/2018 14:19

Stupid question about the FB group but is it a 'secret' group? We're not ready to tell people yet so don't want to accidentally tell everyone who#s friends with me on FB!

When are you guys going to tell people? I'm tempted to tell my parents very soon to be honest, they've been a huge support over 13 months of TTC and if I did miscarry I'd want them to know. I don't want to jinx it though!

BuntyII · 09/09/2018 15:12

I'm feeling a bit down in the dumps today. I was hoping now I'm at the stage my period is due the lines on my tests would get darker but they still aren't really dark and the digi hasn't progressed from 1-2. I know people will say that doesn't mean anything but this happened with my last miscarriage, so I'm a bit nervous and fed up.

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 09/09/2018 15:46

Oh @BuntyII you poor thing. I know this is age old advice, but can you stop testing? Tests vary in sensitivity and some women release for HGC anyway so it really may not mean anything, but will cause you stress. Can you ask your GP for a blood test given your history of MC maybe?

SurfingOwl · 09/09/2018 15:56

@BuntyII it’s all so horribly worrying, isn’t it? Those ClearBlue tests are notoriously unreliable and the strength of the line so early on isn’t a good indicator either. I know I failed to follow this advice but you have the line, so now you need to step away from the tests.

The Facebook group is absolutely secret. I’m not ready to tell people in RL yet and might not be until I actually have a baby!

BuntyII · 09/09/2018 16:26

I know, but I did stop testing in my last pregnancy and thought those things then it was a shock when I started to bleed at 7 weeks. I wish I had just known. Maybe I will see the doctor if things are still the same in a few days

mayago · 09/09/2018 18:06

@Buntyll might be an idea to see your GP. If they are happy to do bloods, you'll get a better indicator of HCG that way?

mayago · 09/09/2018 18:09

Not sure how I'm only 5 weeks pregnant. This is certainly one way to make time slow down! Anyone else finding days are dragging now?

rosettesforjill · 09/09/2018 18:11

Yes @mayago! I have to say I don't really like being pregnant - I stop feeling like "me" and I can't wait for it to be over!

SurfingOwl · 09/09/2018 18:23

@mayago I don’t think it is possible for time to be any slower right now!

Thismummyruns · 09/09/2018 18:47

Tentatively joining you all. Got our BFP today but still in shock. Will be DC2 all being well but keeping some caution due to previous chem pregnancy.

Dating should be around 16th May 2019.

Eeekkk!

rosettesforjill · 09/09/2018 19:17

Congratulations @Thismummyruns! And all the others who I've missed Smile

dreaminofholidays · 09/09/2018 19:45

hello, please may I join?
I got my BFP on a FRER this morning. EDD is 16th May. I'm in shock as I thought we had missed the boat this month. I am also nervous as I had a MC earlier this year.
Hoping the next couple of weeks go quickly!

May 2019 (or late April 2019) due date
MauisLeftNipple · 09/09/2018 21:37

Hi to all the newbies Smile

I can't remember if this has been discussed earlier but is anyone planning to have a Non Invasive Fetal Test e.g. Harmony? I am a geriatric in maternity terms, and I know I'm at higher risk of chromosomal abnormalities. I'd rather know my risk earlier than the NHS test will give me.

SurfingOwl · 09/09/2018 21:39

I am @MauisLeftNipple although I am lucky enough that mine will be on the NHS.

Mcdonald234 · 09/09/2018 23:06

Hi all,

I'm tentatively joining. Got my BFP yesterday on a FRRR, tested this morning and the line was darker and got my 1-2 weeks on clearblue. Due date is 21st May but my period still isn't due for another 3-5 days! I am feeling pretty tired and got an excessively watery mouth and nausea but luckily no sickness.

I can't help but worry about a chemical pregnancy/miscarriage but I'm trying to stay relaxed. When does everyone stop testing? I have none to do tomorrow (did this on purpose) but have some arriving on Mon!

mayago · 09/09/2018 23:35

Welcome and congratulations @Mcdonald234

I am considering NIPT as a fellow geriatric @MauisLeftNipple I'm going to price up the options next week I think- seems £350+? I want an early scan too. This is going to be an expensive pregnancy!
