Anyone else?

I have quite long cycles but using OPKs, I have a rough idea of when I ovulated and have just got the faintest of lines. So 30 April or 1 May for me! Eek.

Hello everyone, can I join? Got my long-awaited BPF this morning - NHS predictor gives me a due date of May 18th. So far my only symptoms have been some weird cramping, mostly on the right hand side so I’m guessing that’s where the egg is getting comfy!

ttcat32 · 08/09/2018 11:05

@MrsReader yes, have one booked for the 22nd. My DH is normally super laid back but he's all for going. If we see everything is ok at that point I think we will tell his Mum and Dad

Welcome @CoffeeWithMyOxygen and congratulations! X

BuntyII · 08/09/2018 11:09

@CoffeeWithMyOxygen we have the same due date Smile

BuntyII · 08/09/2018 11:11

I got a letter through this morning inviting me for the flu jab in October, is it ok to get it done this early in pregnancy?

MauisLeftNipple · 08/09/2018 11:33

Buntyll you can have the flu jab at any point in your pregnancy. The earliest I've ever had mine was 7 weeks as that was when occ health visited work.

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 08/09/2018 14:08

@BuntyII nice to have a due date buddy! When did you find out? I need to register with a GP (we’ve just moved house) and then I guess I call them and ask for a midwife appointment? I don’t really know what I’m supposed to do to be honest!

MrsT1983 · 08/09/2018 14:26

Can I join too please? Got a faint positive on a FRER this morning after a week of negatives with the cheapies. Bit of a shock to say the least, was fully expecting to come on at some point today! This will be DC2 for us, we’d agreed to wait until end of Sept to start trying for a second as our son’s birthday is 26th May and we wanted to avoid another May birthday but had a bit of an oops a few weeks ago 😳 due date for this one is May 18th 🙈

rosettesforjill · 08/09/2018 14:27

Welcome new people!

@CoffeeWithMyOxygen I was able to refer myself to the midwives online, but they did ask for a named GP on the form. With my first baby, I booked an appointment with my GP and he referred me Smile

BeautifulSlang · 08/09/2018 16:29

Can I join too? Had a BFP today, yay! Trying not to get too excited following a CP 2 months ago, but so so happy! App says due date is around 19th May and I'm 4 weeks today. Although, a Clear Blue showing 2-3 weeks?

I'm so excited to be joining one of these after trying for years, can't quite believe it happened naturally.

I'm 5wks5 with a due date of 6th may. Cannot wait for the scan and to tell people so it can feel more real. Really worried about something going wrong as I have waited for this for do long but trying to stay positive and not think about the worst.

My boobs feel like they have hurt since conception and the last few days my stomach felt so full it might pop. Thought I was doing ok energy wise despite getting less sleep but it hit me this morning and I haven't moved off the sofaGrin

MrsT1983 · 08/09/2018 17:40

Wow @BeautifulSlang that’s a really strong positive on the FRER! Think Clear Blue digital counts from conception, not from last period so you add 2 weeks on to get your actual number of weeks which would be right going by your dates. Congrats!

BeautifulSlang · 08/09/2018 18:00

@MrsT1983 Ahh, that makes sense about the CB. I did the FRER yesterday, 1 day late, so about 13 past ovulation, and the CB today. Trying not to get my hopes up too much after having a CP 2 months ago, but so so happy!

UntilTheVeryEnd · 08/09/2018 18:31

Congratulations and welcome to all the new ladies with their big fat positives! So special when they are long awaited Smile

I’ve had a pretty rough day today, so sorry in advance for pity party, but it’s been sheer and utter exhaustion and nausea. DD (4) said I was being lazy and we should go to the shops as she had pennies to spend. I managed to scrape myself together and get us to Asda. I was absolutely green and subsequently spewed all over the toilet floor Sad I was so embarrassed as it was practically all tomato soup so looked like a scene from saw!
I bought frozen stuff and pre chopped veg for DC supper. Never bought pre chopped veg in my life but hey - I’ve never thrown up on the floor of a supermarket before either.

I just LOVE the 1st trimester!
Hope everyone is having a better day than me x

MauisLeftNipple · 08/09/2018 18:43

Oh you poor thing Until. Do what you need to do to get through it. Your kids wont suffer for eating pre- chopped veg!

My pregnancy sickness got worse with each pregnancy. Always managed to vomit at home though. I'm dreading it but will be reassured by it in the same measure. My husband is due to be away for two conferences of a few days long when the sickness is likely to first hit. I'm seeing a lot of fish fingers in my kids' future. I might avoid tomato soup though...

SurfingOwl · 08/09/2018 19:29

Oh @UntilTheVeryEnd that sounds awful! I hope the rest of your day has been much better. Chopped veg is a revelation when tired/poorly/busy etc!

minnierose3 · 08/09/2018 19:59

Oh no! Did you have sickness with your other 2 @untiltheveryend?

LittleTipple · 08/09/2018 21:47

Oh gosh @UntilTheVeryEnd how horrific, although a great story to tell little bean! As much as I'm dreading sickness, I'd like to feel it a bit, so I feel more pregnant. Previous pregnancies I've mainly had nausea, so hoping it doesn't get worse third time around. Hope you're resting now.

BuntyII · 08/09/2018 22:08

@CoffeeWithMyOxygen I had a positive on Thursday. Yeah in my area you have to see the GP but just ring the receptionist and they'll tell you what to do ☺️

UntilTheVeryEnd · 08/09/2018 22:19

Thank you ladies for the support!
@minnierose3 sadly yes I did have sickness with my first 2 - lasted til around 20 odd weeks - but at least I know there is light hopefully at end of the tunnel and this will pass!
@LittleTipple - when we got back from Asda I put DS down for a nap. DD took my hand and said mummy, shall we go for a little lie down and a cuddle as well? We both promptly fell asleep and slept for a glorious hour... DD an DS both woke up on the wrong side of bed but I felt invigorated enough to put some toys away, wipe down the kitchen and hang up some washing.

I can also report pre chopped veg did not kill us in fact tastes the same and is a bloody godsend Grin

Happy bean cooking everyone 😘

goldopals · 08/09/2018 22:19

Hi, I found out a week and a half ago that I'm pregnant with an EDD of 10th of May, 2 days before the Australian Mother's day. I'm just over five weeks. I'm lucky enough that I've my first scan (dating scan) at seven weeks and will see ether OB in the same week.

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 08/09/2018 22:55

Yeah, I’ve looked it up and my local maternity unit says they only take referrals from GPs so I’ll get registered and phone for an appointment. I keep going back and looking at my positive test in disbelief!

MrsReader · 08/09/2018 22:58

At the 8 week midwife appt do they take bloods and urine? And will they check that the hcg levels are all good?

Basically I'm wondering if the midwife would know at that point if the baby is ok?

UntilTheVeryEnd · 09/09/2018 06:26

@MrsReader sadly no, midwifes will not check your HCG at your booking or in fact confirm your pregnancy with a blood or urine test.
They just take your word for it, which is weird but that’s just what they do... your booking app (in Scotland anyway) will consist of an hour of medical history and details for you, the father if known, and family history etc.
My MW didn’t even want to check my blood pressure but I asked her too as I’d had a stressful week and was curious. They do absolutely no checks on baby. Doctors will only check your levels if the is an issue such as bleeding.
Try to be reassured that your body knows what to do so there is really no medical stuff that needs done at this stage. It’s hard I know!

thatshabbychick · 09/09/2018 07:30

Hi everyone. Congratulations to everyone! I think I posted on this group a week ago when I first got my BFP, but if not I'll just quickly mention that I'm pregnant with number 3 (already have two boys aged 7 and 3), due 12th May, so 5 weeks pregnant today. Most of my symptoms have vanished which worries me! I do still have slightly sore boobs and I keep having random energy bursts (like yesterday I woke up and 'spring' cleaned my whole house?!) and I'm having vivid dreams every night and in bed my 8.30pm most nights- but I can be like that when not preggers too! 🙈 It's hard to tell whether I'm having pregnancy symptoms or just tired and stressed from dealing with my two children! Lol. I have booked a private early scan for next Monday when I'll be 6+1. I just want to check that there is actually something there to put my mind at ease. For some reason this time around, I am petrified of having a MMC and I'm dreading the 12 week scan incase it's bad news!! Haven't even been booked with a midwife yet- contacted them a week ago and still haven't heard back from them.
Just wondered how I go about being on the Facebook group? x

annieannietomjoe · 09/09/2018 07:46

Hi Everyone,

Just came across this post - I am due May 13 according to my dates. This is my second pregnancy, have a DS who is 2 in a couple of weeks. We were trying but to be honest I was surprised it happened so fast (took 2 attempts whereas with DS1 it was over 9 attempts) so still get use to it but overall happy. Symptoms wise I have been getting nausea since about 3 weeks (before I know I was pregnant) - I actually didn't think it was possible to get it so early EnvyI am now also being sick most days which is a pain. Apart from that, only tired and hormonal.

I have read through some of the thread (there was a lot of posts Blush didn't see how to join Facebook group but would love to if possible? (I am on one for my DS1 and it has been super helpful)

Hope you ladies are all feeling ok.
Xx
