Anyone else?

I have quite long cycles but using OPKs, I have a rough idea of when I ovulated and have just got the faintest of lines. So 30 April or 1 May for me! Eek.

I am really struggling this week with reducing my caffeine intake. I don't drink fizzy juices or coffee but I have about 8 cups of tea on a normal day.

I'm wilting like a bunch of petrol station flowers Sad Does anyone have any suggestions on what could help with the tiredness? Doubt my tea withdrawals are helping either!

SurfingOwl · 31/08/2018 14:59

I don’t really seem to like the taste of tea this week, so that is making it easier for me to avoid caffeine!

For those who are tired, can you just accept it and have a nap? Would that help?

rosettesforjill · 31/08/2018 15:10

@SurfingOwl I would LOVE a nap but I'm working full time! (It's super quiet at the moment hence the Mumsnetting in between dull admin tasks...)

SurfingOwl · 31/08/2018 15:11

What time do you finish @rosettesforjill? Hopefully you have a quiet weekend where you can rest.

zoClueless · 31/08/2018 15:25

@rosettesforjill I was about to say the same thing. I would love a nap but my manager, as chilled as she is, might have something to say about that 😁

rosettesforjill · 31/08/2018 15:25

5pm - 85 minutes to go!

MimiSunshine · 31/08/2018 15:25

Is anyone else tracking their pregnancy on an app?
I’m using OviaPregancy. I think it’s a bit geared towards an American market, but I one the info it gives you and the ability to track symptoms.

Hopefully all being well I’m currently carrying a little baby dinosaur. DD will be chuffed, she loves Dinosaurs 😄

Aww. I'm using ovia, pregnancy plus & baby centre. Think baby centre seems the best so far.

Would love a nap, or just a lay down! But my work desk is not very comfortable...

For the ladies missing tea - could you try a decaf version? I know probably not the same but at least you can feel like you're not missing out?

MimiSunshine · 31/08/2018 15:39

Oh I forgot about the baby Center app. I find that a really useful website with DD

positivepineapple · 31/08/2018 15:51

I haven't given up caffeine completely. I'm just mindful of when I have it. I have a small cup (not mug) of tea in the morning, then in the afternoon I'll have a weak instant coffee.
Ice cold water in between. In the evening I have a raspberry lemonade with lots of ice in a gin glass and pretend it has gin in it.

NHS guidelines is less than 200mg of caffeine a day is safe.

MrsReader · 31/08/2018 17:50

I'm having one cup of tea a day with caffeine, then quite a few decaf coffees at work! Gonna try decaf tea but worried it won't taste as nice

rosettesforjill · 31/08/2018 18:29

@MrsReader I've been drinking Yorkshire Tea decaf and it's lovely!

sakuramiyagi · 31/08/2018 19:09

@rosettesforjill I think I will give the decaf Yorkshire tea a whirl. I don't think they do decaf Scottish Blend 😩

MrsReader · 31/08/2018 20:07

Ooh @rosettesforjill that's good to hear! I'm a Yorkshire tea girl so will def get the decaf tomorrow ☕️😍

ttcat32 · 31/08/2018 22:20

Just a heads up on the decaf tea front- avoid they Tetley one at all costs it's vile!!! 🤮

MrsReader · 31/08/2018 22:36

Thanks for the tip @ttcat32!

Happysbno4 · 01/09/2018 06:57

Oh my I'm so moody snappy and angry at everyone and everything. Hate using being pregnant as an excuse and can't tell anyone anyway!!!!

seeingdots · 01/09/2018 08:25

Yes yes to the Yorkshire decaf! I'm on aldi Scottish blend equivalent decaf just now, it's not too bad actually.

purplestar9 · 01/09/2018 09:10

Hi all! Please can I join?
I got my BFP on Wednesday (2 days before our 1st wedding anniversary!) and this will be our first so quite excited!
My EDD is 30th April. I have a booking in appointment with a midwife on 12th September. I'm 5+4 today so will be 7+1 at the appt date.

How is everyone?

Shazafied · 01/09/2018 09:25

@purplestar9 congratulations what lovely timing !!

I'm sorry to say I feel like I've been hit by a bus today as my dd1 was awake from 2-3.30 am, then I went back to bed and convinced myself I had cramping (everything seems pk now though) and didn't get back to sleep till 5, dd1 then woke at 6 SadSad

She's sleep again now but I can't nap , feel really wired even though knackered ! Might try and get my hair cut today to feel better !!

rosettesforjill · 01/09/2018 10:22

Congratulations @purplestar9! Smile

rosettesforjill · 01/09/2018 10:24

@Shazafied DS was up before 6 this morning and I didn't get to bed until 11:30 so I'm feeling pretty knackered too! DH has buggered off to do "jobs" in the garden so I've stuck DS in front of the iPad like a terrible mother...

MrsReader · 01/09/2018 10:37

Hey @purplestar9 , I was on the ttc thread with you 😄 congratulations again!

MrsReader · 01/09/2018 10:37

Aww @Shazafied I didn't sleep weep either 😩

MrsReader · 01/09/2018 10:38

Oops sleep WELL lol
