Anyone else?

I have quite long cycles but using OPKs, I have a rough idea of when I ovulated and have just got the faintest of lines. So 30 April or 1 May for me! Eek.

Hi everyone 👋, I'm so behind!

6 weeks today and no symptoms really still except tiredness. My boobs hurt like a bitch early on last time so the lack this time's slightly unsettling. I should probably just be glad I'm feeling ok so far though!

Went to visit a friend today and ended up going on the train as my car's on the blink. So 2 hr train journey with toddler then 25 min walk lugging said toddler in the sling, then same on the way back. I'm knackered! Friend's got a 3 week old. I can't believe how much I've forgotten about newborns in a short space of time!

positivepineapple · 30/08/2018 16:45

Hello All,

Hope everyone is feeling ok? God, the anxiety is just the worse isn't it?! I'm constantly stressing if I actually have symptoms or it's in my head!!

Although the dizziness and breathlessness is pretty hard to ignore in the mornings.

I had my booking appt date today, 18/09 which will put me 8+1 so pretty happy with that.

Also got my early scan appt with the EPU, next Wednesday 😬😬😬 I'm actually terrified. I've never had a scan with good news. But I keep thinking, something about this time feels different, and if it isn't good news - I would rather know soon than later.

Re: FB group, I'm pretty sure it was @SurfingOwl that mentioned it? I'm definitely up for it, but will prob wait a few weeks just to make sure things go as they should.

When is everyone planning to share their news? Family? Friends?

rosettesforjill · 30/08/2018 16:51

I'm going to have to to tell my sister tomorrow because she's coming round for dinner and she'll guess anyway if I'm not drinking!

Parents will be end of September as we have a family wedding celebration thing and I will need to check the restaurant menu and again - the not drinking will be too suspicious. I don't really mind telling close family as I'd be glad of their support if anything went wrong. Not planning a Facebook announcement this time round - will tell people as and when after the 12 week scan I think

Shazafied · 30/08/2018 16:52

@positivepineapple just wondering how you got an early scan ? I'm in NE England and we only get one at 12 weeks and one at 20 weeks. I'd love one sooner though x

Firstbornunicorn · 30/08/2018 17:10

@rosettesforjill, can you not just tell your sister you're on antibiotics? 😂

We've told both sets of parents, and I had to tell my skating coach as I wasn't sure when I could skate to. Turns out that the answer was "get off the ice" 😵

rosettesforjill · 30/08/2018 17:13

@Firstbornunicorn does anyone actually fall for that?! 😂

sakuramiyagi · 30/08/2018 17:15

@rosettesforjill I'll be using the antibiotic excuse this weekend. I'll let you know how that works out for me, hahaha!

Firstbornunicorn · 30/08/2018 17:16

@rosettesforjill I live in Ireland, and it's literally the first question anyone asks when you're not drinking!

"Glass of Rosé?"
"No, thanks."
"You on antibiotics, or what?"

UntilTheVeryEnd · 30/08/2018 17:48

I suppose it’s one benefit of being T Total all the time - no one ever questions the not drinking thing... saves making up excuses Grin

Mejse · 30/08/2018 18:28

@positivepineapple I have told my parents and dh told his son this week. I don't know when we will tell anyone else. Last time I told close friends and family right away.

At sil's graduation I passed on a glass of champagne, as soon as we sat down bil started asking when we were planning on having another. I had only just got a very faint positive at 9dpo that morning, I told him that dss has said we shouldn't have another until Ds can tidy up after himself. He still seemed suspicious

positivepineapple · 30/08/2018 18:33

@Shazafied I have been under the care of Gynae for recurrent miscarriage, so I can get one through that.

I hate the no drinking speculation! I think I'm just going to hibernate for a few months! In normal circumstances I enjoy wine - a lot, if I tried the antibiotic excuse I would be sussed straight away 🙈

SurfingOwl · 30/08/2018 18:47

I’ve finally stopped procrastinating and contacted my hospital to get my early scan sorted. I think the lack of symptoms today has worried me, hopefully unnecessarily.

positivepineapple · 30/08/2018 19:13

When is your scan SurfingOwl?

I'm not sure if it was you that said you want to bury your head in the sand over it? I totally get that. I only rang today as DH was pestering me!

Firstbornunicorn · 30/08/2018 19:23

Have any of you fallen victim to this rotten cold that's going about? Seems to have hit me twice as hard as usual. Got doc appointment on Monday so will ask then what I can take if it's not gone!

Also, have a repeat prescription for Laxido. I've thrown away the packaging for this lot, but from Google, it seems to be ok in pregnancy. But I still can't bring myself to take it!

The anxiety has a strong hold on me today... Just seems such a long wait to find out if everything is ok. I know we can get an early scan for £89, but don't know if I want to risk it as apparently they sometimes can't find a heartbeat, but everything is still ok 😵

Plasticgiraffe · 30/08/2018 19:55

@Firstbornunicorn if you get a scan after 7 weeks or so you should be able to see the heartbeat. I had one for my first baby as my friend had a MMC and even with horrendous sickness I was anxious too. All was fine couldn't see much though at 7 weeks tho we called him blob 😂 so I think we'll wait til 10 weeks this time or wait and get a 4D one. It only gives you peace of mind for a few days tho

SurfingOwl · 30/08/2018 20:17

@positivepineapple I’ve not got a date yet but will wait until I am seven weeks. Yes, I am a fan of burying my head in the sand.

I’ve had an awful cold @Firstbornunicorn and it really wiped me out. I spent my first week knowing I was pregnant feeling really dizzy and awful and unsure whether it was the cold or not. Then DH got it and was apparently at death’s door, so I assume it was the cold that made me feel so unwell! Grin

Shazafied · 30/08/2018 20:52

@positivepineapple ahhhh I see. Hopefully you have nothing to worry about this time round x

positivepineapple · 30/08/2018 22:05

Thanks @Shazafied x

@SurfingOwl That's a good shout. I honestly thought that wouldn't want to see me before 7 weeks so I was surprised with the appt date.

Sending hugs to all.

Firstbornunicorn · 30/08/2018 22:36

@surfingowl I really do feel rotten! I was a bit queasy before but now that's been usurped by gross sniffles, headaches and achy joints :(. I think I read that your immune system is suppressed during pregnancy so it doesn't attack the baby, so maybe that's why we're struggling more than usual. Doesn't explain your husband, though. But I know mine has to have a week off work for every sniffle, so it wouldn't be surprising for him to be at death's door if he's anything like mine 😂

eep1111 · 31/08/2018 06:26

Hi ladies,

Congratulations on your BFPs.

Joining this thread for symptoms you had leading up to your BFP.

My AF is due on Monday, but the early hours of this morning when I went to the bathroom I had dark pink /brown discharge (sorry TMI), I have felt so tired the last few days, feeling nauseas constantly. Totally randomly and don’t know if it is a potential symptom, I’ve had mouth ulcers for the last 2 weeks on and off as well.

What do you ladies think? Do I do a test or wait til Monday? TIA xx

Firstbornunicorn · 31/08/2018 07:44

Woke up this morning feeling queasy and generally gross, and lay there for a few minutes thinking about how nasty it's going to be to go out and feed the sheep with this rotten cold.

I don't have sheep. I live in a townhouse in an urban development.

I think a day off work is warranted 😂

LaYC · 31/08/2018 08:01

Good Morning All! Found a BFP on Tuesday - day of AF. I have previously MC at 9 weeks so have opted to book an early scan at 7 weeks 1 day.

No major symptoms - do we think this is normal?

Iv been sleeping well but waking up very early for my usual self, ‘achy’ boobs and a bit of nausea in the mornings. Oh and an up and down tummy, constipation for 2 days and then the opposite, ever the glamour. I’m concerned I keep having a lower back ache - is this normal?

Congratulations to everyone, EDD 7th May.

SurfingOwl · 31/08/2018 08:36

I think they would see me now @positivepineapple but I figure waiting makes sense for my sanity!

I hope you aren’t feeling too bad now @Firstbornunicorn

I would test first thing tomorrow with a FRER @eep1111 as I think you’d know then if AF is due on Monday.

rosettesforjill · 31/08/2018 08:40

Hello new people!

@eep1111 it's really tricky to tell! I often get random spotting a couple of days before AF arrives but if it's not normal for you who knows? My major symptom this time and last time was sore boobs. A test might show positive at this point but I'd be tempted to wait for first wee tomorrow!

@LaYC I think symptoms vary so much from person to person! I wouldn't say they sounded abnormal though Smile

MrsReader · 31/08/2018 08:51

@LaYC congratulations 💖

I read that morning sickness tends to start around 6 weeks.

I've only felt crampy and mega bloated. Full of gas too 😆
