@Gronk27 I did it was on offer I paid £35

ballanj · 17/08/2018 22:24

@Jenlou1992 I totally get what you mean about the weight thing. I'm so horribly bloated at the moment and know that I'll retain a lot of water as I've suffered with that before. I'm probably 5 pounds up on what I was going into 11 weeks, but I'm sure 3/4 of that is weight I probably gained on a break to New York where I'd have been very early on pregnant but not knowing! I'm thinking let's just go with it. I exercise 4 times a week so hoping that negates the chocolate habit I seem to have acquired these last couple of weeks 😬😬😬😬

ballanj · 17/08/2018 22:30

@Gronk27 we are probably due around the same time, I'm 10 weeks exactly tomorrow. The bloating I'm experiencing is really quite ridiculous. My OH is convinced we're having twins 😂 I'm fortunate not to have experienced any morning sickness. Thinking it must be genetic as my mum and sister were the same. Constipation has been a bitch aswell. But I had a glass of red wine with my dinner tonight (please don't judge!) and things have moved far more easily this evening for once. Obviously this can't be a permanent solution 😂

Funnybunnyfluff · 17/08/2018 22:31

I have not had an early scan I'm 8+1 but it's odd I even said to my OH i feel odd knowing a stick has told me I'm pregnant but feel I have no picture to prove it.

It's real but it's not at the same time and I have not seen any proof. I keep trying not to talk about it as I don't want to get excited still knowing anything can happen.

Such a strange experience.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 18/08/2018 08:14

He was just under 5lb born at 38 weeks @wineandchoccy so very small (and to be fair, still is pretty much on the bottom of the charts)

Sictransitgloria · 18/08/2018 08:16

The nausea is becoming very real 🤢 and intense hunger. Eating does help. I work in the community with families so it is bloody hard going atm. This week has wiped me out.

Wineandchoccy · 18/08/2018 08:31

@SquirtlesMumAgain Oh he was a wee dot, tiny but mighty! Glad they will keep a close eye on you this time. My friends 1st baby was a similar weight then she went on to have a 2nd baby who was just over 9lb so no rhyme or reason why they were so different.

Minichuch · 18/08/2018 08:31

I had my first appointment with mw yest and going back weds some reason for full booking in appointment- we are having extra scans same as @SquirtlesMumAgain due to low birth weight of ds first time

Wineandchoccy · 18/08/2018 08:34

I’ve got a banging headache it was chilly last night so I shut the window but then when I woke up the bedroom was all stuffy Sad
I need to go I jojo Maman Bebe to return a maternity top my Mum bought me that even if I was expecting quads it wouldn’t fit! I must resist spending a fortune on cute baby things

Wineandchoccy · 18/08/2018 08:36

@Sictransitgloria The sickness is awful poor you different smells in peoples houses won’t help either 🤢
I’m a rep and visit hospitals and the smells really set me off ☹️

Murphyrocks · 18/08/2018 08:39

@Wineandchoccy I find the jojo maman bebe stuff good quality but huge size-wise! I had a few maternity bits from them that only fit for the last few weeks when I was mahoosive! They do a really good splash mat though which has been a godsend under ds's high chair.

fanks · 18/08/2018 08:40

@Gronk27 we are only having an early scan because of previous miscarriage the thought of waiting another 4 weeks might send me over the edge!!

The hunger, nausea cycle here is strong at the moment Envy

Wineandchoccy · 18/08/2018 08:41

They have a sale on the tops we’re reduced from £30 to £6 but not much good when I could fit everybody in this thread in the top Grin

Wineandchoccy · 18/08/2018 08:44

I kept my maternity clothes from last time I have refreshed some of the jeans and leggings with dylon dye so they look like new again. I have a few things that are to big so will send them to the charity shop as I have recently lost 1 stone 1/2 on slimming world I really hope I don’t put it all back on.

puravida31 · 18/08/2018 08:45

@Gronk27 I’m not sure about mouth ulcers specifically but I think your immune system is lowered during pregnancy, so it would make sense. I’ve come down with a few things since getting pregnant, which is really unlike me & currently have a UTI - oh the glamour of it all!

BadBadBeans · 18/08/2018 08:51

@Wineandchoccy that is a good idea about the dye refresh! My maternity clothes have been through another friend of mine since I had DS and she was a bit worried she might have stretched them (I doubt it though - she is slimmer than me when not pregnant!) so I need to have a leaf through them and see what condition they are in. Had a really good browse of websites for maternity clothes last night and have some items in mind to buy if my scan is okay. Delighted to see that nursing bras seem to have come on hugely in the two years since DS was born - there were some quite pretty ones!

Angelmiracle · 18/08/2018 08:55

Good morning ladies. Was out last night with friends for dinner. Have V+D since I got home. Food poisoning or just a bug?? I'm still being sick with nothing more in my stomach to bring up - should I take something?

OP posts:
Wineandchoccy · 18/08/2018 09:00

Oh no @Angelmiracle can you get advice from a pharmacist? I’m not sure whether you can take anything when pregnant

BadBadBeans · 18/08/2018 09:02

Oh @Angelmiracle, that sucks. Just did a quick google and apparently the most common food poisoning starts between 2 and 6 hours after you've eaten, so it could well be that. I know you've not booked in yet, but can you get hold of the number for your local midwife service? Would be worth asking them for advice. Bloody shame it's the weekend otherwise I'd ring the GP.

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 18/08/2018 09:10

Talking about smells... I've got my bridesmaids hair trial today and I've got to pick up my OH's niece from their Dairy Farm. 😷 not looking forward to it...

HidCat · 18/08/2018 09:23

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever how long can you hold your breath? 😂

@Angelmiracle I hope you feel better soon.

Orville82 · 18/08/2018 11:28

@Angelmiracle oh god that sounds horrendous. I’m not sure about what’s you can take for relief, but you can definitely have dioralyte to replace minerals and salts, so though it tastes vile, take advantage of that. Get well soon.

ladycarlotta · 18/08/2018 11:44

@angelmiracle how horrible! Hope you start to feel better. I would hydrate like crazy as soon as you're able - presumably we're allowed dioralyte? Definitely check in with midwife if you can, or my pregnancy notes has the number for the hospital midwife unit too, who are apparently more reliable in answering the phone - would that be an option? That or 111 I guess.

My headache escalated into a a full-blown migraine, so I spent most of yesterday in bed feeling DREADFUL. I get them very occasionally, so I'm hoping it was just a random thing rather than another joyous gift of pregnancy I should expect more of. I'd honestly rather the sickness.

ladycarlotta · 18/08/2018 11:45

@assumeitwassomethingclever I'm sorry that I'm laughing!

TheWanderlust · 18/08/2018 12:09

Morning ladies, just catching up on a few days posts.

We've been told to expect £4 per picture at our scan next week. So incredibly nervous as haven't had any early scans but just need to see everything is okay.

We're going to have an private sexing scan at 16 weeks and then probably another private scan at 24-26 weeks. OH feels like every 4 weeks in reasonable to check up on baby until they're born. He's very impatient at the moment 😅
