@ladycarlotta @HidCat I got out of the car and stood in the middle of a cow shit. 😭 I didn't know whether to laugh or cry... or vomit everywhere. 😂

HidCat · 18/08/2018 14:16

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever oh no! I hope there was hose nearby so you could clean it off!

My midwife has tracked down my notes and they're being posted to me. Phew. They did say I could come and collect them but seeing as the last time they couldn't find thought I'd ask for the postal option instead lol.

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 18/08/2018 14:23

@HidCat I gave it a scrap on a step. Had to bin my shoes though! 😂

orangekitkat13 · 18/08/2018 15:05

I gave in and went and bought new non wired bras today as old wired ones were starting to get painful. They feel so much better! I may never go back to word ones!

Murphyrocks · 18/08/2018 15:23

They're so good aren't they @orangekitkat13?! I spent more on my maternity bras than the rest of maternity wardrobe last time around! Thankfully I had the foresight to keep them all for this time, broke them out a couple of weeks ago...bliss!

orangekitkat13 · 18/08/2018 15:45

@Murphyrocks they really are! Just spent £40 on three!

Nightmanagerfan · 18/08/2018 16:57

I’m still in normal bras at 9 weeks but will need maternity ones soon. Last time someone recommended some stretchy ones from JoJo Maman Bebe and they are ace - I think about £12.50 each and they’re so comfy. www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/seamless-maternity-nursing-bras-b4826.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwh9_bBRA_EiwApObaOFEbeKkLEOyEXObexy0hV8ZquevNrtb5u-9h0FrPStgE-z-CJX2smRoCPJwQAvD_BwE

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 18/08/2018 17:19

I'm just wondering what everyone's food aversions are. I used to absolutely love spicy food but the thought of it makes me feel sick. We went out for a curry for MIL's birthday yesterday and the smell of the spice instantly made me acidy.

Murphyrocks · 18/08/2018 17:22

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever my weirdest aversion so far is garlic - I'm one of those people that adds about 5 times the recommended amount to everything and now I can't stand anything garlicky and have removed it from every recipe! Also fish which I usually love; think that's a pretty common food aversion. And my fruit & veg smoothies I usually make every morning for breakfast - haven't had one for 2 months! Definitely getting less prevalent as my morning sickness fades though, cooking again and everything!

Wineandchoccy · 18/08/2018 17:37

I have gone off milk and normally go through pints of milk

Shampooeeee · 18/08/2018 17:43

I’ve gone off chocolate and ice cream! I normally have an ice cream every day in the summer and a block of chocolate doesn’t last long in my house. Can’t remember the last time I ate either!

Gronk27 · 18/08/2018 17:43

Thanks for all the responses about early scans, I totally get it. I didn't realise how common it was. I have mine on the 30th so not sure it's worth it now to get one the week before my 12 week anyway.

@ballanj I am exactly 10 weeks today! Due date the 16th. Twins run in my family!! I'm suffering too, no judging here I might even try some red
wine myself, although think I'm feel too sick for it!

@puravida31 good point about the immune system. I think I have a UTI too.

@assumeitwassomethingclever I've gone off fruit and veg which is very unlike me! Craving OJ and @murphyrocks I cannot stand the smell of garlic at the mo either and usually love it.

I defo look pregnant, I've had a couple of cheeky friends asking me outright and pointing at my stomach. Bit annoyed with a couple of them, they are not subtle and one even asked me in front on my boss/friend to which I responded 'I am not discussing my uterus', thankfully my boss/friend responded 'nor should you' but I know there will be gossiping which I hate. I'm self employed and work with a lot of my friends. I have a BBQ next Sat think I'm just going to have to tell that group of friends. I've told our families and my best friends so far.

BadBadBeans · 18/08/2018 18:03

@Nightmanagerfan that was me who recommended those bras in the November thread! Glad you like yours!

@AssumeItWasSomethingClevee my aversions change on a regular basis but just like @Shampooeeee I am totally off chocolate and ice cream! I've had a half-eaten bat of Green and Blacks in my office for weeks now, and a tub of Ben and Jerry's in the freezer that I've barely touched! Just the thought of it makes me feel ill.

@Gronk27 I love the response 'I am not discussing my uterus'! Top work. And good on your boss for backing you up.

Anyone else find they are really struggling by late afternoon? I'm pretty functional in the morning but I get snoozy by 2pm and if I succumb to a nap then I wake up feeling horribly horribly sick. I'm 9 weeks today and I am desperate for the sickness to subside soon. Those of you who have hit or are heading towards 12 weeks, has it eased up for you and if so when did it start getting better? I need some hope here!

Murphyrocks · 18/08/2018 18:14

@Gronk27 I'm glad it's not just me! Also you can buy tests for uti on amazon pretty cheaply - I'm susceptible after a kidney infection a few years ago but don't really get symptoms so always have them to hand. I was off fruit and veg too when the sickness was bad but back on it with a vengeance now!

NatashaRomanov · 18/08/2018 20:28

@Angelmiracle I hope you are feeling better now.

Hi, @Gronk27 and @ballanj Another 10 weeker here Smile Sick feelings have really ramped up again. Especially when I get hungry.

I was already 'plus size', but with some definition at my waist, but this week my belly seems bigger, and my waist is less defined! DH is still muttering about twins!
I have also had what I think is some low ligament pain, when standing up. Took me by surprise.

Also, (I am hoping someone else has experienced this!) for the past couple of weeks, I have had random moments of a strange sensation in the lower part of my belly. Almost like a vibration. The closest thing I can think of to describe it, is if you gently push two fingers on your belly, and and move them up and down quickly. The feeling is like that, but only the vibrations, not the feeling of something pushing to create them. Does that make sense?? I assume it's just everything stretching.

Gronk27 · 18/08/2018 20:35

@natasharomanov my symptoms have ramped up last day or so and started getting random aches and sharp pains no vibrations though!

Jenlou1992 · 18/08/2018 20:47

I d9nt have any food aversion I just literally have no appetite . I struggle to know what to eat because I don't fancy anything at all. And if I leave my hunger too long I just end up feeling awful ! . When I do eat I feel like I've ate a 5 course meal and can't move . It's awful .

HidCat · 18/08/2018 21:07

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever for me it tends to be any food in the evening and toothpaste!

Angelmiracle · 18/08/2018 21:43

Im finally turning a corner since last night thankfully!!! I felt so so sick. Rang Dalriada after having a 38.2 temp and was advised to take paracetamol. It took over an hour to kick in but it did eventually and I managed a small piece of baguette which helped kill the nausea. All being well I'll sleep well tonight as my sisters surprise baby shower is tomorrow at my house and I did not get 1 thing done 😭 No cleaning tidying of baking. DM kindly made the red velvet cake I planned to do - I rested on the sofa and read out step by step what she had to do. We've never made it before hope its nice!

ladycarlotta · 18/08/2018 22:15

@Assumeitwassomethingclever I'm with @Shampooeeee and @badbadbeans, off chocolate and ice cream. Two things I love! I just don't fancy them, and haven't since the beginning of my pregnancy. I also feel absolutely repelled by chips or anything that's been in a deep fat fryer. Proper vom.

@BadBadBeans I'm 12 weeks today and definitely feeling a lot less less nauseous, although not normal by a long chalk. The tiredness is ongoing, really hoping to see the back of it soon.

@MurphyRocks @Gronk27 I keep getting niggly sort of UTI feelings. I also had a kidney infection a few years ago and it was horrendous - I don't think I've ever been entirely right since, and am so paranoid about it happening again. Very useful to know there are tests you can get for home. I might have to invest.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 18/08/2018 22:20

I am sleeping so much at the moment, just too tired to do anything - thankfully DS understands mummy isn't right and DH is around.

Am so bloated at the moment, just hating everything so far. Had lots of cramping tonight too and now brown discharge, not up for this now :(

ladycarlotta · 18/08/2018 22:57

Oh, @SquirtlesMumAgain hope it's ok. You've had a bunch of scares now haven't you? Hope the universe cuts you a bit of slack and you are sprightly through the next two trimesters.

toastfiend · 18/08/2018 23:47

Hope everything is OK @SquirtlesMumAgain. I have been getting bloody discharge very frequently and had lots last night and a bit today. I'm a bit worried but trying not to panic too much. I had the same last week during my 12 week scan and several times before that and they said everything was fine then. I have had a cervical erosion in the past and it seems to have flared up again with all the pregnancy hormones. It's horrible and so worrying so you have my sympathy. Hope it eases off soon for you and all is OK.

Jenlou1992 · 19/08/2018 00:03

squirtlesmumagain hope it settles down overnight . Try not to worry tho. See how things are in the morning and go from there xx

PurpleFlower1983 · 19/08/2018 07:30

12 week scan for me tomorrow - I’m excited but nervous. I keep thinking about MMC and reading loads. Fingers crossed things will be ok.
