Feeling better today, managed to eat an actual meal last night (though almost regretted it by 9.30pm lol). Hoping that this is the corner turned for the nausea now. 🤞

@badbadbeans thanks I've just eaten some cereal and a few sips of tea so waiting to see if it stays down. My back was tender in the night but did manage to get some sleep.

@wordsmithereens it's my whole back really. My hips, lower back and between my shoulder blades. I do suffer with my back and usually exercise and go to the Osteo but not had the energy to exercise and not sure if I can go for treatment being pregnant? DH has told me to ring and ask which is sensible. I think I did too much over the weekend including a bit of lifting.

Catching up after the weekend. @toastfiend, so glad all was ok with the scan. What a scary experience for you, it sounds like the hospital was great. Please don't worry about work and take it easy.

@VillageFete I said I'd keep you updated as we were in similar positions with late booking in appointments. I had mine yesterday at 11+2 and this morning I got a call with a scan date for Friday 7th September so I'll be 13 weeks according to private scan I had at 10 weeks, or 12+5 according to last period so well in time for the tests. I should think you'll be find with yours in that case and they should do something similar?

We've decided to go with the NIPT test and after speaking to the lead midwife at the hospital yesterday, she said it wasn't worth doing the NHS screening after that because it would muddy the water so to speak if the results showed different things and to stick to the NIPT if I was going ahead with that so happy to follow her advice but still have the NHS scan for official dating (and another peek at baby).

She's recommend a place in Manchester which is where I was hoping to go anyway so I'm happy with this approach. She said they also do a scan and measure the fluid at back of baby's neck and other measurements so I feel reassured. Managed to get an appointment for tomorrow morning so I'm feeling rather nervous!! Hope baby is ok! My partner is away this week so gutted he's missing the scan!

@Gronk27, that does sound painful, I'm sorry. :( (I was only thinking if it was only lower back pain you might want to keep an eye on your temperature to rule out you haven't got a bad UTI, cause that can sometimes come with headaches and vomiting. But it sounds like this is familiar pain to you.) My GP definitely mentioned osteos specialising in pregnancy treatment to me a few months back (I have recurrent sporadic pain as well, and had an awful couple of weeks when the relaxin kicked in at the beginning), so that definitely sounds worth checking out once you feel a bit better! Fingers crossed.

Glad to hear about lovely scans!

My scan went well, strong heartbeat, though they did push me back from 11+4 to 10+2. So I have a repeat scan intro weeks, and should get a new due date then.
I did wonder if this would happen. Happened last time, think I ovulate later than the LMP dating allows for!

But seeing the wrong heartbeat flickering away! Wow. Did have a wee panic as the first thing on the screen was my big empty looking (but full feeling!) black! Smile

@wordsmithereens I thought that I'd replied but can't see it! Good shout on the UTI but no fever. I had a horrendous upper UTI a few years ago-not nice. Good to know Osteo's can specialise in pregnancy. I'll get booked in. Also just spoke to my beauty therapist and she does pregnancy massage. I'm also going to get back on the exercise once my symptoms subside.

I just want to get my scan done (tomorrow) and know everything is alright and then maybe I'll relax a bit!

Well I'm back in the UK now. Got a scan and appointment at the day assessment clinic next Friday. It seems like such a long time to have to wait but apparently is the first time they can offer. The midwife scoffed at the advice the consultant in France gave me. I do understand that we do things differently over here, but having been told I'll lose the baby if I don't abide by it I'm really struggling with the conflicting advice. Also think I might be another with a possible UTI as I'm really uncomfortable in my lower abdomen and back and feeling really tired, breathless and queasy, plus feeling I need to wee constantly, so it's off to the GP tomorrow I think. Sorry, all I seem to be doing is moaning at the moment! Hopefully once I've had the scan and an appointment next week I might feel a bit better.

How is everyone else doing? Sorry to hear you've not been feeling good @Gronk27. Hope you manage to get it sorted swiftly and are feeling better soon.

@toastfiend I'm feeling quite a lot better thanks. Hot water bottle at the mo. Hopefully the GP will reassure you on a medical level. Take care of yourself, sounds like you wouldn't want to do much else than rest anyway! Take care.

Moan away @toastfiend, for my part just happy you can get it off your chest and happy to listen if it helps any.

The conflicting advice must be so frustrating. Yes, we may be doing things differently, but scoffing at you when you're understandably concerned also isn't very helpful. I do sometimes feel that uk healthcare can be a bit less preventative (compared to Germany where I'm from). I'm sure that has its benefits, too, but you need to do what makes you feel comfortable and safe in this pregnancy. Hope the scan and gp appointment can give you useful perspectives and/or reassurance, depending.

Hi ladies
I am 11 weeks - scan next week! Been a long wait for this first scan and felt really sick and smells/tastes are all over the places like you guys say.
I cannot wait to have the scan - I’m trying not to worry but he just so good to know things are progressing as they should!!
