@BadBadBeans bleeding after sex is fine as long as it stops quickly. It's caused by irritation of the cervix. Keep an eye on it but sounds like it's sorting itself out.

I'm feeling rough today, stomach a bit off though I'm slowly managing to get through a piece of toast, and I've had a headache for over 24 hrs maybe borderline migraine (I don't like bright lights). Paracetamol isn't touching it atm. Urgh and I have to go to work today (payroll - I'm the only one who can do it)

BadBadBeans · 28/08/2018 07:51

@HidCat thank you for that. I'll just keep an eye on it then.

In better news, DS's spots have faded a lot overnight so at least I am no longer in a quandary about whether or not to send him to nursery!

BadBadBeans · 28/08/2018 07:51

@HidCat how many weeks are you now? Really sorry to hear you are still rough!

Wineandchoccy · 28/08/2018 08:44

Ahhh I’m so tired dd fell off a chair yesterday and has fractured her elbow Sad we spent 5 hours in a & e and she has a cast on from wrist to her shoulder. Kids they age you by 10 years Sad

Wineandchoccy · 28/08/2018 08:50

@BadBadBeans Hope that you are ok I think bleeding is fairly normal after sex but always a worry to see blood.

Wineandchoccy · 28/08/2018 08:52

@HidCat Have you tried one of those 4head sticks or a cold cloth on the back of your neck and forehead? Hope you feel better soon x

toastfiend · 28/08/2018 08:53

@BadBadBeans I've had bleeding after sex and after bowel movements (sorry for TMI!) caused by a cervical ectropian. It's completely harmless and just irritation of the cervix. My midwife wasn't worried about it and the blood is usually pinky red and goes to brown for a day or so afterwards. I'm not medically qualified, but just from my experience of it it wasn't anything to be too concerned about. Especially if it was light and stopped quickly. The bleeding I had the other night was very different, which was why I panicked. The ectropian bleeding is an annoyance and always makes me nervous but never lasts long, isn't heavy and I've been reassured by the midwife about it. If you're concerned definitely give yours a call to talk it over as it's better to be safe than sorry and certainly always worth asking about these things. It is also worth noting that I already knew I had an ectropian. They are caused by hornone changes, mine was caused by the pill, improved when I came off the pill and then got worse again when I got pregnant.

ladycarlotta · 28/08/2018 09:19

@wineandchoccy oh your poor DD! And poor you! How horrible. At least kids are small and bouncy and heal quickly - a friend's 3yo broke her arm recently and wore a cast for all of about 3 weeks. Doesn't help with your grey hairs though.

BadBadBeans · 28/08/2018 09:20

@Wineandchoccy oh dear, hope your DD is feeling okay this morning. You must be exhausted!

@toastfiend Thank you for all that info; I really appreciate it. I have never been on hormonal contraception, but I guess the hormone changes of pregnancy might do something? This is certainly different from the bleeding I had that signalled the start of the miscarriage last time. Thank GOODNESS I have a scan this afternoon so I can at least know what is going on! Would have been much more frustrating to have had the scan and then start bleeding the next day.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 28/08/2018 09:30

@wineandchoccy poor DD - hope she is feeling better really soon!

Wineandchoccy · 28/08/2018 10:04

Thanks I’m shattered but she will mend she is never still

wordsmithereens · 28/08/2018 10:38

Sorry to everyone who's got difficult things going on. @wineandchoccy, I hope your DD heals quickly!

@toastfiend, meant to say the other day it sounds sensible to see if you can get extra mental health support once you're back. You've had a lot going on, and it's not a case of having to have it worse/as bad as others before it's acceptable to struggle. Your emotions are valid within their own right.

I'm struggling a bit myself at the moment - tying up loose threads with work and as much as I'm looking forward, it's still difficult as I was there a long time. In more positive news, my sickness seems to be settling down a bit, finally! Still knackered and nauseous, but have managed a couple of days without meds now, so hopeful that it'll continue to improve.

BadBadBeans · 28/08/2018 11:34

I spoke to the midwife and she said not to worry unless it turned red again, which is what I expected. So I've decided I will go ahead with the Harmony later today as long as everything looks all right on the scan.

@wordsmithereens yay for the reduction of sickness!!!!

ladycarlotta · 28/08/2018 11:45

Hope the scan goes well @BadBadBeans - and the Harmony. Pregnancy really puts you through it, huh?

ballanj · 28/08/2018 11:47

@BadBadBeans good luck with your scan today x

ballanj · 28/08/2018 11:50

@toastfiend oh you poor thing, I read through all the messages from the weekend last night. I'm glad you have a reasoning for what occurred and glad your little one is hanging in there. Get the rest you need, in spite of our British doctors being all 'keep calm and carry on' you know your body and your baby to know what to do for the best. And if you need more support because it's all getting too much, don't be afraid to ask and get it. Can't remember who said it, but don't compare your own well-being to someone else's as every person is different xx

ballanj · 28/08/2018 11:53

Probably a totally gross question, but how is everyone on the 'discharge' side of things..? I've always had discharge which would occur more often when I was due on. It's totally non offensive, just seem to be getting more of it at the moment. I'm just under 12 weeks now.

VillageFete · 28/08/2018 13:32

@ballanj I have discharge every time I wipe!

Anyone else really thirsty? I’m thirsty all the time lately. I’m 9+1. I used to drink loads of water but can’t stomach it in pregnancy? I have to have squash in it and i’m worried about the sugar content.

Got another scan tonight, terrified but excited.

cardboard33 · 28/08/2018 13:44

@ballanj mine has gone v think and stringy, kinda like snot at times, but then it feels thicker/more durable than snot (haha...) but from what I've read this is a good thing as it's to do with the "plug" your cervix (?) has created between you and the baby to keep it safe... So it also can't get prodded/splattered or whatever during sex. I mentioned it to the midwife at my booking appointment when she asked about my symptoms and she laughed so I'm not concerned as it hasn't had blood in it or anything.

@villagefete I'm always thirsty but always have been - I drink 3-4 litres of water before I get home from work, sometimes more. I've always drank loads but since going on epilepsy meds 3 years ago it's just made it ridiculous. As long as it's no added sugar squash it should be ok? Or you could try flavoured water instead? As an adult, I've always drank the lemon & lime sparking one instead of sprite.

VillageFete · 28/08/2018 14:43

@cardboard33 i’ve just gone and bought some soda water and sugar free lime cordial in the hopes it will hit the spot. My discharge sounds exactly the same as yours

Has anyone heard from AngelMiracle who was on the pregnancy boards thread we have?

ballanj · 28/08/2018 14:47

Thanks v*@VillageFete* @cardboard33 good to know I'm not alone in that sense!

@VillageFete I don't think @Angelmiracle has been back on, do hope she's doing okay though.

wordsmithereens · 28/08/2018 14:53

Definitely more discharge here as well. @villagefete, struggled with drinking as well! I seem to enjoy water more if it's chilled for some reason? (Never had that before.)

NatashaRomanov · 28/08/2018 15:00

@toastfiend I hope you are doing ok today.
Love your username, it would have been appropriate for me over the past few months, toast with butter and strawberry jam became my favourite food!

@BadBadBeans I hope your scan goes/has gone well.

Anyone else having a scan tomorrow?
I am terrified. More scared this time than last time, but last time was 9 years ago and we had time on our side!
But, by lunchtime tomorrow, touch wood, we will know that bean is in the right place and growing as should. And that I am not just getting fatter, and boobier, and feeling sick for no reason!

Angelmiracle · 28/08/2018 15:34

Hi everyone so sorry to have dropped off the last few weeks. The stomach bug I took really threw me. I then hosted (I will use the term loosely lol) my sister's baby shower. In was a great success. Although very tough for me being so sick. Everyone brought so much - homebaked goods and shop bought too. The cakes cupcakes and traybakes were to die for by the look of them but I could not enjoy any of it I wasn't just quite eating. My sister was so shocked & did not expect I would organise that for her she teared up! It turned out to be 2 sittings. Some of my aunts and cousins arrived after the rest of the guests were leaving and it was after 9pm before everyone left I was shattered. Had to get out of bed 1am I couldn't sleep.

Then last Thursday we headed to Disneyland Paris! I was filled with dread at the thought! Absolutely no energy I didn't know how I'd cope. But I managed well we done about 26hours in 4 days at the parks. DS had the best time got photo's with Pluto Jessie (toy story) Mickey and Captain America! The food was not good at all 😷 nor the smell of food lol or the shuttle bus.

The hotel was fine no atmosphere and the majority of people we encountered were very unfriendly. We are at the airport heading for home now I cannot wait!!

Welcome to the newcomers 👋 I will update the due date list when I get home as soon as I get settled. If I leave anyone out or miss an amended due date let me know and I will try to get it in shape again!

I have been lurking and can't believe how many 12week scans already. They are all beautiful ladies and look like proper little babies now! I'm glad @Sophlou & @toastfiend are ok please take it easy! I was worried I was over doing it around Disney.

I'm 10+2 scan next Tues!! It will be my first scan this pregnancy. Nausea still going although today feels it has eased a bit but I'm not speaking too soon it always creeps up again! I had terrible ligament pain at 9 weeks for a few days it was concerning me a bit before we jetted off in case of ectopic but thankfully it has eased off. I was not as bad as this with DS so its either the increased age or maybe having a girl 😂

So, been in bed most of the day with a terrible headache. Got up, thought I'd try to eat and drink something and then I just threw up my guts all over the hall as I couldn't make it to the bathroom. Supposed to be going to work meeting at 7 not sure what to do.
