@villagefete I've had 'period pain' so the whole time pretty much! Cramping and stretching apparently as well as round ligament pain.

Sictransitgloria · 26/08/2018 20:28

Anyone else having delayed “feeling like total shit” symptoms. I’m 9+3 and this weekend I have felt seriously awful. Nausea, constipation, gone off food and the smell of cooking or thought of (subway advert makes me so queasy), horrible headaches and feeling tired. I don’t get ill so hating this feeling - hate not being able to do stuff I usually would. Hopefully it will pass soon...

toastfiend · 26/08/2018 22:21

Thanks all, no further issues today so far so I'm trying to stay positive and think that actually we have been incredibly lucky and although it's been a shit day it's also been a great day as, at the moment, bean is still hanging in there. I just want to be home now. The hospital here are amazing and I actually think the level of care is significantly better than in the UK, but I want to cuddle my dogs and see my parents and just be at home now.

I think I'm going to have to go to the GP once we're back. I've suffered with anxiety in the past and I feel like my mental health, which has been great for a long time now, is really taking a downturn at the moment. Its probably just the stress as I've had lots of episodes of bleeding so far, but last night has really upset me and I'm struggling. Hopefully if we have a good night tonight things will feel a little better tomorrow. I'm scared to even go to bed in case I wake up in the same way again. Sad I know it's stupid, lots of people have been through far more than I have.

@sictransitgloria from what I recall my symptoms waned and then came back with a vengeance around the 9 week mark. They did pass again fairly quickly though. Once I hit about 12 weeks I felt a lot better in terms of sickness too. Hope you start to feel better soon.

@villagefete I've also had period and stretching type pains throughout, along with round ligament pain. I appreciate I'm not a great comparison at the moment but I've had the pains all along and have had several healthy scans so I definitely don't think they're part of my issue. From speaking to the midwife at my booking in appointment it appears that type of discomfort is pretty normal. She certainly wasn't concerned about it on my account.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 26/08/2018 22:28

Sorry bean gave you a scare @toastfiend but glad you have been given such good care. I would get signed off and take the advice of the French doctor if it were me - you need to look after yourself.

Home from our break and still feeling terrible. Poor DS doesn't understand - he keeps telling me I'll feel better after some sleep.... I wish, I wish

Agnie · 27/08/2018 05:41

Checking in 👍due on 14/3/19

myotherbagisgucci · 27/08/2018 07:56

Congratulations @Agnie we're due date buddies! ☺️

Wineandchoccy · 27/08/2018 08:33

Welcome @PartridgeJoan and @Agnie

Agnie · 27/08/2018 08:53

Thank you!! I'm so excited ☺️

Orville82 · 27/08/2018 08:57

Oh @toastfiend what a rollercoaster! Even though your hospital said they wouldn’t normally suggest complete bed rest, it’s certainly not something that will do any harm so I would just embrace it for now.

I’m off away with friends today staying in a big house in Suffolk. There are 23 of us including 11 children and although I love them all dearly, I can’t think of anything I’d like to do less right now! I’m not even going to be able to use the hot tub 😭. I’m planning on telling them all as I had a successful scan on Wednesday at 10 weeks. It’ll be such a relief to wear what I like and eat like a trucker without questions! I’m already excited about my big bottle of cherry coke, multi pack of pickled onion monster munch and spaghetti hoops. If anyone would like advice on how I stay so healthy, just let me know! 😆

Wineandchoccy · 27/08/2018 09:09

@Orville82 yes that sounds like hell currently but I’m sure once you are there and shared your news you will have a great time

SDP84 · 27/08/2018 09:22

@PartridgeJoan we're due buddies 😀

@toastfiend I'm so sorry about what happened to you I don't know how I would of coped at all!
Glad your little bean is all good and fingers and toes crossed that you have plain sailing from now on x

thefirsttimer · 27/08/2018 09:45

Oh @toastfiend you poor thing! So sorry you've had to deal with all that while on holiday. Sounds like you had excellent care though, have heard great things about French hospitals. As others have said, taking it easy can only be a good thing, so I'd follow that advice as much as you can! Good luck for your follow up scan at home, will be thinking of you xx

Hi and welcome @PartridgeJoan and @Agnie, congratulations to you both!

ladycarlotta · 27/08/2018 09:55

welcome @PartridgeJoan and @Agnie! Glad to have you with us.

I'm having that 'where have my symptoms gone?!' anxiety! 13+2 and the nausea has definitely vanished. I'm still exhausted but I've been tired so long I can hardly remember what life was like without. Boobs still big but not sore. I suppose this is the start of my 2nd trimester glow, but I'm fretting anyway.

thefirsttimer · 27/08/2018 10:01

Embrace the glow @ladycarlotta Grin

ladycarlotta · 27/08/2018 10:13

@thefirsttimer glow is probably a massive overstatement, but it's a novelty not to feel like total shit.

To balance things out, I did get the WORST tooth ache on Saturday which still hasn't totally gone. I was almost in tears with the pain - luckily was visiting FIL in hospital and the hosp pharmacy had a maternity pharmacist who said I could have cocodamol, which has helped somewhat. Gonna say this is the baby's fault, but it's really mine as I broke a tooth about a year ago and just never got round to getting it sorted. It's a lot better now but I do need the dentist, stat.

Pearcrumble · 27/08/2018 10:39

@toastfiend sorry to hear you've had such a worrying time, but also very glad that bean's okay. My experience of asking for help with mental health in this pregnancy has been that the midwife was able to give much more time and support than my GP (who said he'd refer me to the team but no results six weeks on). The midwife gave me a leaflet for a service I could contact immediately and referred me there and then to the relevant team...and put me on consultant care with a specialist in mental health.

Perhaps your GP is much better than mine but just wanted to recommend what helped me :) hope you are feeling better soon

Nightmanagerfan · 27/08/2018 11:03

Welcome new people @partridgejoan and @agnie hope you enjoy being part of the thread.

Huge thanks for book recommendations and for your thoughts on what to do differently @murphyrocks - interesting re alcohol. I haven’t felt like it at all but was planning on the odd thimbleful of wine at Christmas so happy that isn’t going to cause any issues.

@orville82 your snack parcel has made me laugh. I’m coming out of the beige restricted diet phase but embrace it if it’s what you can eat! I’m not sure I can face eating another plain bagel or pack or cheesy oat cakes ever again as that’s what I lived on... and sadly my favourite pret stew is now definitely on a “never again” list for obvious reasons...

My dreams have been CRAZY this week to the point where I think they are real. Anyone else finding that?

Enjoy the bank holiday all

MistakenHoliday · 27/08/2018 11:24

@ladycarlotta this is the perfect time to sort the tooth out - don't you get free NHS dentistry when you're pregnant?!

@Nightmanagerfan crazy drama here too 🙋🏼‍♀️ Also, bouts of waking up at 3am and not being able to get to sleep again...

My sickness is easing though - I still feel gippy now and again, but I haven't puked for a while. Progress! Still waiting for the second trimester glow...

This weekend I've pulled out all my maternity stuff from last time and my mind is boggles by what I saved. About ten pairs of MASSIVE knickers, two pairs of jeans I have no chance of getting back into, and some bobbly jumpers. Why did I save massive knickers?!? Why?!?? They've gone in the bin.

ladycarlotta · 27/08/2018 12:30

@mistakenholiday yep! I got my maternity exemption card in the post the other day. I'm going to milk that badboy for all it's worth. Just feel like a pretty crumby adult for having allowed the tooth to get so bad.

MistakenHoliday · 27/08/2018 14:00

@ladycarlotta oh I know that feeling! I had a back tooth removed a couple of years ago because a wisdom tooth had pushed against it for so long it caused a cavity. I had visions of being a toothless crone in ten year's time 😱

HidCat · 27/08/2018 17:44

@toastfiend don't put yourself down, you've been through a lot already in this pregnancy and you're doing great.

@Agnie welcome to the group!

@Orville82 sounds like a plan!

@ladycarlotta toothache is horrible. I've been struggling with sensitivity for a while, Dentist had confirmed all is ok I just have to manage it so knowing that cocodamol is ok if absolutely necessary is good. @MistakenHoliday I have that problem now - I've been referred for it.

MistakenHoliday · 27/08/2018 18:03

@HidCat I had mine done under sedation - I'm a complete wimp when it comes to dentists Confused

SquirtlesMumAgain · 27/08/2018 18:18

Why doesn't being sick relieve morning (all day!) sickness???!

Anyone else suffering from waking to sleeping?

BadBadBeans · 28/08/2018 07:06

@toastfiend I'm so sorry that you've had such a time of it, and that you are also dealing with conflicting advice from doctors. Pregnancy is so worrying, especially in these early stages, and things are bound to take their toll. Look after yourself and be kind to yourself x

Please can those who experienced bleeding after sex (I'm sure there was at least one person on here who mentioned it) tell me what your midwife said? I had quite a lot of very pink-tinged discharge after sex last night and it freaked me out. I do happen to have my early scan and Harmony booked today which is helpful - but if I'm going to miscarry obviously would perhaps be better not to fork out for the harmony. Needless to say I had a rather sleepless night. I think the bleeding has gone though.

Also worrying about DS who has some spots in his armpit. He had them back in December and I did ask the doctor then who didn't think they were anything serious. Now they're back and I'm worrying about whether I should skip nursery today and take him to the GP, but he's perfectly well other than that and I am swamped with things that I need to do. Can the GP appointment wait till tomorrow, or not? A question only I can answer, and unfortunately I am given to catastrophising so am not good at making these kind of decisions, especially not on a very broken night's sleep! Marvellous!

BadBadBeans · 28/08/2018 07:13

Just had brown blood on going to the toilet :( No clots though.
