DH just asked if I have felt less sick today and I realised I have. Not gone, but much less sick. Now I'm worrying!

Gronk27 · 20/08/2018 21:46

@HidCat scan triplets. I'm not a morning person but maybe even I will be nervous that morning.

Pearcrumble · 20/08/2018 21:54

@thewanderlust glad to hear yours is also supportive! Thank goodness for the NHS. Anxiety can be so difficult at the best of times.

TheWanderlust · 20/08/2018 21:59

@Pearcrumble the anxiety is ramping up right now,, first scan is on Friday. I really wish we had an early scan at 10 weeks.

OH has agreed to book a 16 week scan privately so I don't have wait 8 weeks until the next one.

Pearcrumble · 20/08/2018 22:51

@thewanderlust the days goes so slowly when there's a big milestone on the horizon. I was lucky and had a eight weeks scan, I imagine it's really hard waiting so long. Good plan to have a sixteen week one. I hope you are able to find some moment of calm this week, I'll be thinking of you!

Velcro88 · 21/08/2018 08:18

Lovely scan pics!! Who's got scans today? @orangekitkat13 and @ladycarlotta? Mine's not until 6pm this eve, going to be a long day! Fingers crossed all scans go well. I'm very anxious.

Glad you got your booking apt @BadBadBeans!

All going well this eve I'm going to have to buy some maternity gear: I'm not up to going shopping so might do some online. I'm normally a size 12 but wonder if I'm pushing a 14 with the extra carbolicious calories I've been guzzling lately. Does anyone have any recommendations for good maternity jeans? How does the sizing work - would I be best getting a 14 in mat sizes or would a 12 generally be more generous in a mat size anyway?

ladycarlotta · 21/08/2018 08:19

Is anyone else having absolutely banging headaches? I wake up with them and they barely ease all day. Horrific!

But I have my 12 week scan today which should cheer me up a bit. Stay tuned.

ladycarlotta · 21/08/2018 08:27

@Velcro88 this is going to be a long day for you! Hope it goes well, scan twin.

I just bought some maternity jeans from Gap (in their sale which seems basically permanent now) - their sizing is always on the generous side, I've found, but these were pretty roomy on the non-bump parts in a 12. Could probably have dropped to a 10 tbh. You're meant to be able to stick to your usual size, but my norks are so massive now I am suspicious of that and might go a size up on top.

orangekitkat13 · 21/08/2018 08:38

Yep mines today at 3.30! Good luck to others that have them!

HidCat · 21/08/2018 09:02

@Velcro88 it will vary a little depending on where you buy them from but generally the waistline being cut lower helps and get something with a little stretch. I bought some from Vertbaudet in a size 14 and they're a perfect snug fit (I've been wearing 14-16 trousers the last week or so).

BadBadBeans · 21/08/2018 09:06

@Velcro88 I loved h&m superskinny mama jeans last time. So comfy and so flattering! I am usually a size 8 and bought an 8 during pregnancy which fit fine. I think unless you put on a lot of extra weight on your legs and bum then it is best to stick to your normal size.

@ladycarlotta they did mention at my booking appointment yesterday that you should mention to your midwife if you are having bad headaches. May be worth giving them a call? Best of luck with the scan today!

Good luck to all you other scan people too. So exciting!!! X

Wineandchoccy · 21/08/2018 09:19

@Velcro88 I like Mothercare skinny jeans because they do a long leg version I buy the size I normally wear. H & M are good as well. I prefer over the bump style as under the bump I always have to pull them up which gets annoying.

Wineandchoccy · 21/08/2018 09:20

Good luck to everybody having scans and can’t wait to see the scan photos

peonylover22 · 21/08/2018 10:00

Catching up and checking in! V hard to keep up with both the threads and the FB group.
Good luck to everyone having scans today. Mine is next Tuesday. Can’t wait to be able to tell everyone and stop doing disguise the bump dressing at work. We have a large family funeral on Friday and I really wish the scan was before it.
Got panorama test results back, all v low risk and a second boy for us. Truth be told I was slightly disappointed that I will never have a daughter (2 children is my absolute limit!!) but I like the thought of having 2 sons close in age and am hoping they will be great mates.
Interested that some people are under consultant care for PPH. I lost 1050ml during the delivery (so not PPH???) and felt atrocious for 2-3 months but consultant care wasn’t mentioned at my booking in appointment. I am having a meeting with a consultant at 16 weeks to have a debrief of my son’s birth 😬 so will add that to the list.

Nightmanagerfan · 21/08/2018 10:18

So funny to come on here to see the maternity trousers chat - I was dreaming about maternity wear last night (odd I know - brought on by my jeans being too tight I think)!

Re: trousers - I still love skinny jeans, but in recent months have also bought some wide legged trousers, which I love. I’m trying to work out whether wide legged plus bump (and weight around bum/thighs) is going to make me look massive? Can anyone advise? I did look online but I’m suspicious of pix of size 6 fashion models with a cushion up their jumper...

HidCat · 21/08/2018 10:37

@peonylover22 it'll be fab having two boys close together! I'm glad the results were good for you. It's good that you're getting the debrief with the consultant, perhaps they'll discuss the risk factors of PPH again then.

@Nightmanagerfan wide legged can make you look wider all things considered but for me it's comfort over style. Can you try some on and see how you feel in them? I resorted to joggers this weekend, I only ever wear them when I'm pregnant lol

ladycarlotta · 21/08/2018 11:28

Amazing scan today. The baby was very reticent to play ball and was sort of spine to spine with me, looking out at the scanning tool thingy. It kept spinning right around and covering its face with its hands. The sonographer had me do a lot of jiggling, which made the baby go wild. I can't believe it's so mobile and I can't feel it at all. Anyway, we got some decent pics in the end! So relieved to see it's all OK.

ladycarlotta · 21/08/2018 11:31

Ugh is there a pic? Sorry, let's try again.

@ladycarlotta Great news Smile

Wineandchoccy · 21/08/2018 11:32

Oh lovely photo as well

Bluebelltulip · 21/08/2018 11:37

Glad your scan went well ladycarlotta it's surreal watching them move without feeling it isn't it.

Pearcrumble · 21/08/2018 11:40

How lovely @ladycarlotta congrats!

Re: maternity trousers I am a slob and lounge around in leggings mostly, I bought some maternity ones from the H&M Conscious range, organic cotton and £8.99. So comfy. I'm pretty sure most of my tummy is bloat still but even so why not accommodate it I think Smile

orangekitkat13 · 21/08/2018 11:57

@ladycarlotta lovely photo!

Nightmanagerfan · 21/08/2018 12:01

@ladycarlotta that’s so lovely! I’m quite jealous of all the scan pix

@pearcrumblei agree that leggings are amazing - just need something smarter for work over winter!

LovelyFishy · 21/08/2018 12:14

With my 1st pregnancy I tried buying cheap maternity trousers, as you’ll only be wearing them a short while so no need to blow the budget right? All the cheaper ones were rubbish!! Ended up spending more at H&M and it was sooo worth it, a proper pair of jeans is such a staple item. Not tried their skinny ones before, might give them a go this time round.

Good luck for everyone having their scans today! Flowers Wonderful to see so many lovely pics already! Grin
