@PurpleFlower1983 yeah great scan photo. Are your dates still the same?

PurpleFlower1983 · 20/08/2018 13:19

@ Wineandchoccy

Yes, still 1st March Smile

ladycarlotta · 20/08/2018 13:22

@toastfiend I've done quite a few flights since being pregnant - short and long haul. I found with the long haul overnight, if you book right at the back of the plan you might well have the seat next to you empty, or even a whole row. If you're on a long haul flight see if you can book the very rear window seats on the plane for you and DP, as they are often a row of 2 rather than 3 so you won't be disturbing anyone but him if you're up and down a lot. Otherwise, get yourself on the aisle for sure. I noticed on the long haul that they give you loads of nausea-friendly snacks (BA do anyway) like mini bags of pretzels, cream crackers etc, so if they help you tell the stewards and I bet they'll give you extra.

Stock up on sick bags, very cold water, and whatever snacks or hard sweets get you through. Try to close your eyes and maybe have a few podcasts/music lined up rather than trying to read or watch a screen.

On the long haul flights, I got DVT socks but I don't know how necessary they are. It's probably best to walk up and down the aisle every now and then to avoid blood clots, just to be cautious.

Hope it goes well! If it helps, I've found air travel to be less unpleasant than car travel over the same time period.

ladycarlotta · 20/08/2018 13:25

@PurpleFlower1983 gorgeous scan! What a lovely little profile it has!

@toastfiend, oh yeah, I also have a cervical ectropion, presumably caused by the pill - noticed it a year or two ago. It hasn't caused any bleeding but I don't know if it causes complications down the line. I forgot to mention it to the midwife, is it something I need to add to the worry list?

Pearcrumble · 20/08/2018 13:27

Had my booking appointment this morning and I received so much support for my mental health issues! Just wanted to mention it to encourage anyone else struggling to talk to your midwife about it- there seems to be a lot of support for pregnant women with mental health difficulties, more than I expected. I have problems with bipolar type depression and mood swings, I almost didn't mention it because I was scared of getting a 'black mark' on my file as maybe a dangerous or bad mother...but the midwife was totally non judgemental and has referred me for extra support throughout.

Hope it's not just a one off and other places are just as helpful, anyway, I think it's worth trying.

Congrats to the lovely scans coming out, it's exciting to see people coming to the twelve week mark!

BadBadBeans · 20/08/2018 13:29

@PurpleFlower1983 what a fab scan! Congrats!

@toastfiend ugh, you poor thing. Good luck with the journey and the holiday!

Currently playing chase-the-midwife. Think I missed a call from her this morning. I'm so frustrated - still haven't got a booking-in appointment in the diary and I'm 9+2 already! Anyone else in this situation or is it just me?!

HidCat · 20/08/2018 13:43

@Pearcrumble so glad your midwife was fab.

@PurpleFlower1983 any chance of a repost with personal data cropped out? I missed the pic 😔

"I am nor disucssing my uterus" @gronk27 you are my Monday hero!

Exhaustion hit in a major way over the weekend and am crashing right now. I am hiding in the gardens of my work with a coffee hoping it will pass. Had to have a nap both days this weekend. Not sustainable at work!

Wineandchoccy · 20/08/2018 14:19

I am doing work admin sat on the sofa I’m so tired I really don’t remember feeling like this 1st time round

Wineandchoccy · 20/08/2018 14:20

Sorry didn’t read back @ALRM you sound like I feel Sad

Wineandchoccy · 20/08/2018 14:20

@Pearcrumble your midwife sounds a great support

ALRM · 20/08/2018 14:25

Yep @wineandchoccy so far this pregnancy feels like one long hangover!

I am 9+5 and proper exhaustion has just hit. Any positive stories from those of you further on about how sprightly you feel???

Wineandchoccy · 20/08/2018 14:39

I’m 13 + 1 I felt ok when I got up but have slowly felt worse as the day goes on Sad

Wineandchoccy · 20/08/2018 14:40

I’m certainly not glowing yet Grin

ballanj · 20/08/2018 14:47

@PurpleFlower1983 what a lovely scan picture! And congratulations to others who have had their scans. I really want mine to hurry up now, it's next Thursday which seems like ages away. Never have I wished for a bank holiday to hurry up and pass by!

I had a bit of a restless night last night so feel like I have zero tolerance for anything today. No enthusiasm to run at lunchtime either. Also, how are we all coping with changing bodies? I've probably gained around 5 pounds but right now I feel so flabby and nothing I wear looks nice or it just feels like I want to rip it off in frustration at how awful it looks 😩 picking out something to wear every day feels like a chore and I normally love my fashion but guess I feel a bit fed up with how I look at the moment, as in not pregnant just flabby. Not the biggest worry I know!

MistakenHoliday · 20/08/2018 15:40

@PurpleFlower1983 that's such a lovely scab picture!

MistakenHoliday · 20/08/2018 15:40

Erm, SCAN picture. What a typo! 😂

MistakenHoliday · 20/08/2018 15:42

If it helps, I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and feel lots better than I have done for the last five weeks! I still feel sick and I have NO appetite but definitely not lie-on-the-sofa groaning as I have been lately...

Now I have to hope I haven't jinxed it Smile

ladycarlotta · 20/08/2018 15:43

@ballanj I know, I'm the same. Just feel so uninspired about clothes. there doesn't seem any point in buying anything new right now as I'm only going to get bigger, and I don't feel inclined to go shopping in the slightest. I've been in the same few stretchy dresses for weeks. I suppose it'll be jeggings and baggy-ish tops for the next month or two. Bleh.

Murphyrocks · 20/08/2018 15:55

@ballanj I've been feeling the same re clothes so broke out the maternity wear a week or two ago and feel so much better! Obviously a lot of it is still too big but much more comfortable in the loose flowy stuff than I was in my more fitted normal clothes. Embracing the chub! I just separated the maternity wear I had in storage in to second and third trimesters and put away the latter until I'm properly big! However I'm currently in maternity leggings and a loose tunic and happy with life 😁

LittleKitty1985 · 20/08/2018 15:55

Does anyone else have bad pregnancy acne? I have SO many spots across my chest and shoulders - v annoying in summer when I want to wear strappy tops etc

Bluebelltulip · 20/08/2018 16:00

I've got my maternity wear out too, rearranged my wardrobe earlier as I'm fed up trying lots of different things on in the morning.

ballanj · 20/08/2018 16:03

@LittleKitty1985
I've had the occasional spot (in fact a rather large one has now appeared on my forehead!) but not what I'd call acne. My skin does feel a bit more pimply if that makes sense. God it's glamour all the way isn't it!!

ballanj · 20/08/2018 16:07

@Bluebelltulip @Murphyrocks yeah my issue is I don't actually own any maternity clothes as this is my first, and don't want to think about purchasing until after 12 week scan. I think I'll get a decent pair of maternity jeans after the scan and some proper maternity bras (currently in non-wired primark ones). I've got some leggings from very which I'm wearing to work a lot with smart tops at the moment and just ordered a couple more pairs as these are quite a staple and the only things I'm finding remotely comfortable at the moment!
