@SquirtlesMumAgain I hope it's all back to normal for you this morning.

@PurpleFlower1983 just try to remember that a MMC is actually quite rare. I'm sure everything will be fine.

I'm back in work tomorrow and dreading it. Only 2 weeks to hide the symptoms now though.

MistakenHoliday · 19/08/2018 08:18

@Gronk27 'I am not discussing my uterus' - love this! 😂

I have my 12 week scan on Wednesday this coming week. I'm more nervous than I was the last time so am hoping that everything is ok and I can relax a bit more. I don't remember being this nervous last time round!

My sickness seems to be tailing off a bit too 🎉 I still feel grotty but not lying on the sofa trying not to vomit groggy. I have started with heartburn though - joy!

I've also got an extra appointment with a consultant because I had PPH with DD. I only lost 500ml of blood which seems small compared to other stories in the internet so I'm trying to be pragmatic about it. They can't tell you why you hemorrhage but I'm hoping that labour will be shorter this time so my uterus is less tired (!) I'm also going to do hypnobirthing properly this time and the delightful perineal massage to try and avoid a tear like last time.

Pregnancy really is a joy isn't it? Grin

Murphyrocks · 19/08/2018 09:55

@MistakenHoliday I've got my scan on Wednesday too and I think 1 or 2 others do too - we're getting to that time! I'm in a similar boat in that I feel much better than I did but still a bit rough, and I'm also under consultant care as ds had health complications during birth last time. Had a pph too but only 350ml so don't think that's the cause of going under consultant care. Was considering hypnobirthing too so interested to hear what you find out!

Wineandchoccy · 19/08/2018 10:14

@SquirtlesMumAgain I hope it has settled down this morning, what a worry. When is your dating scan?

Sictransitgloria · 19/08/2018 10:18

Can anyone recommend non-underwired bras for big boobs?

MistakenHoliday · 19/08/2018 10:31

@Murphyrocks I think I was on the cusp of the consultant with 500ml. It's funny because I didn't give it a second thought at the time and now it's all over my notes! It feels weird being under a consultant doesn't it?

Ooh Wednesday scans! There'll be so many lovely pictures! It's seems like an age ago that the first thread started Smile

I've got a hypnobirthing CD I used last time but my hospital is also doing courses. I might look I to doing one as I was a bit slapdash left to my own devices when I was pregnant with DD.

orangekitkat13 · 19/08/2018 10:57

@Sictransitgloria how big? Marks go up to a 40E and I actually went down two cup sizes switching to non wired. Bravissimo also so then but they are pretty expensive.

Bluebelltulip · 19/08/2018 11:07

Mistakenholiday Murphyrocks you have just reminded me I lost 500 ml too.

Funnybunnyfluff · 19/08/2018 11:12

Silly question, what happens on the 12 week scan apart from the scan itself. Are tests required to check babies health? Do they give you information of what's to come?

I have a 10 week booking in appointment, do I get given information then and then 12 weeks is just the scan?

Has anyone else had this?

Wineandchoccy · 19/08/2018 11:16

@Funnybunnyfluff The 12 week scan is a dating scan to confirm your due date and check baby is measuring ok and that a heartbeat is present. If you are having the combined test they will measure the nuchal fold and you will have a blood test with the midwife.
It is quite a quick appt with the sonographer at this stage the 20 week scan is a lot more in depth.

Wineandchoccy · 19/08/2018 11:17

The booking in appt is with the midwife and that is to fill your notes in checking your medical history, families history previous pregnancies etc

Funnybunnyfluff · 19/08/2018 11:28

Thank you that makes it clearer for me.
Much appreciated Smile

Wineandchoccy · 19/08/2018 11:30

@Funnybunnyfluff no problem, motherhood is like a secret society Grin

Murphyrocks · 19/08/2018 11:53

@Sictransitgloria I went from a 30E to a 34H last time and found Hot Milk and Royce (Charlotte and Lauren) the best brands; the former for semi-pretty but still comfortable stuff and latter for more firm support. Hot Milk isn't the cheapest but if you're not too particular on which styles you want you can get most stuff in the sale. I did find I went up a back size when going to non wired too which is worth considering!

Murphyrocks · 19/08/2018 11:55

@MistakenHoliday I hadn't even remembered I'd had a bleed until I looked out my postnatal notes last week!

@Squirtlesmumagain how are things with you this morning?

MistakenHoliday · 19/08/2018 12:25

@Bluebelltulip it's so weird when you forget these - probably quite significant! - things isn't it? I'd forgotten what morning sickness what like too though so.. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

puravida31 · 19/08/2018 13:08

I’m with you for the scans next week ladies - mines on Thursday and it feels like I’m counting the minutes! The closer it gets the more anxious I seem to be getting 😕

Hope all is ok today @squirtlesmumagain?

SquirtlesMumAgain · 19/08/2018 13:21

Thanks all for asking. Bleeding hasn't intensified which I guess is good. Woke up really dizzy but might have been to do with DS absolutely clocking me in the eye socket with his head last night!

As for those asking about bras, as long as they fit properly no need to swap from wires until 36 weeks, unless they just aren't comfy (though the wires really shouldn't be causing an issue if fitting OK).

ladycarlotta · 19/08/2018 13:25

I just bought a Hot Milk bra off ebay (with returns) - I feel quite sad about giving up nice undies, and feel so massive and lumpy all the time. Plus I'm spilling out of my current bras and the wiring hurts; it's time for an upgrade.

My scan's on Tuesday and I'm pretty excited! Just want to see the baby again and make sure everything's OK. My app tells me it's the size of an apricot, which seems huge!

Murphyrocks · 19/08/2018 14:03

@ladycarlotta yes mine says plum now, seems so big! Could swear I've been feeling movements the last few days, started feeling ds at 13 weeks, but it's probably just my imagination! I had to give up my bras a few weeks ago too, no longer doing their job!

ladycarlotta · 19/08/2018 14:52

@MurphyRocks I keep very morbidly thinking that if a cancer grew this fast we'd be seriously worried! It's extraordinary. Also excited to know it's no longer an embryo but a foetus, and has basically all the bits a real human has, in mostly the right places.

I keep hoping I can feel it move, but I don't think so. I think I can sort of feel my uterus though, if that's a thing.

BadBadBeans · 19/08/2018 15:26

@Squirtlesmumagain hope all has settled down for you today. If not, perhaps give the midwives a ring?

@Angelmiracle glad you are feeling a bit better but you poor thing hosting a baby shower! What utterly rotten timing. Hope your sister has a lovely surprise and that you are able to enjoy it a little.

@MistakenHoliday oh dear, I'm fairly sure I lost 700ml of blood during my emergency C Section. I must check the photographs I took of my notes! Like several of you I didn't realise that was a particular issue. In fact I seem to remember being under the impression that it wasn't too bad until you lost more than a litre? I can recommend hypnobirthing - I was only in labour for 6 hours before DS got into difficulties and had to be whipped out, but I hypnobirthed through the labour and the C Section and it was incredibly helpful. The midwife I had commented very positively on the way I was using it. Will be doing it again even with an ELCS!

So excited for everyone's scans this coming week.

Shampooeeee · 19/08/2018 15:48

Interesting Murphyrocks I have also felt what I think might be movements in the last few days. It seems very early so I can’t be sure. I think I’ll wait until after my scan on Friday before mentioning it to anyone, in case I’m imagining it!

I am a huge hypnobirthing fan. I love how they focus on coping in the best way, no matter what kind of birth you have.

I had to have a nap this afternoon. My nausea has almost completely gone but the exhaustion is still here.

MistakenHoliday · 19/08/2018 15:52

@BadBadBeans there was a bit of 'do we, don't we?' before the midwife decided to refer me (she went to check with someone else first). Maybe my Trust has a lower threshold than others?

I need to dig out my hypnobirthing stuff ASAP!

BuffaloGiraffe · 19/08/2018 16:22

@purpleflower1983 how did your scan go?

@angel how did your sisters shower go? Hope you aren’t feeling too rotten!

So many scans next week, so exciting! Mine isn’t until 20/9, so ages away.
I’ve also been getting flutters, but I’m only 8 weeks, so it’s def wind rather than baby for me Grin
