@passtheaftereights what an amazing can photo, lovely to see.

can I ask on early scans... we have a couple of days away coming up and I wanted to go just before we went so I had the reassurance but they are not running evening scans then so my options are go at 6+6 or go after at 7+5. What would you all choose? xxx

Pancakes7 · 19/09/2018 07:15

@Dreaminofholidays I would go for 7+5 as you should definitley see a heartbeat. If you go to early it may cause extra worry but might just be too early.

Jessabean · 19/09/2018 07:51

Congrats @PassTheAfterEights 🎉 🎉
So happy for you & that's a beautiful picture! Hoping we all get there soon!

@dreaminofholidays if you're sure on your dates you should see a heartbeat by 6+6 (is usually there by 6 weeks often just before) but later is always a bit more accurate date wise as very early scans everything is so small your talking like mm & if there's a chance you ovulated late it might cause unnecessary stress if you don't see a heartbeat. Not any right answer really though.

frankiefumbles · 19/09/2018 09:04

@dreaminofholidays I'm uhmming and ahhing. I've got the option of having a scan on 7+3 or 7+4 and I'm still worried it might be too early, but poppyseed shouldn't be less that 7 weeks at the time even if I ovulated late. And I think I did ovulate late. For me I'd go for the latter, but equally if you can go to the 6+6 if you are more confident on dates and also accepting you might not see quite what you want yet (and maybe have funds to go for another one in a bit to see more) then maybe the early one is better. No right answer though. If I don't have my scan done then I'd have to wait until 9+4

I was just reading the following, which reassured me going in at 7 weeks is okay...but for me (Little Miss Paranoia) it's the lowering mc risk that I'm looking at as much as anything

Hey ladies, hope you’re all ok today!!
Little question for you all, are any of you excercising or going to the gym?
Any ideas on what’s safe and what should be avoided?

Laney79 · 19/09/2018 10:26

I'm leaving this thread. Scan at what should e been 8+6. Baby measures 4mm and no blood flow or heartbeat. Second MMC. Heartbroken. Good luck to you all xxx

Pancakes7 · 19/09/2018 10:58

@Laney79 I am so so sorry to hear this. I hope you're ok. Big hugs. X

Jessabean · 19/09/2018 11:11

@Laney79 I'm so so sorry to hear this. Take care of yourself. Each miscarriage is obviously as heartbreaking as the next but I really found my second mmc tough emotionally. Understand the needing to leave the group for your sanity going through it but am here if you want to talk through things at all- feel free to pm me anytime. Xxxx

MisBit1 · 19/09/2018 11:24

@Laney79 I’m so sorry. Sending hugs your way. Be kind to yourself. Xx

toomuchtv88 · 19/09/2018 11:35

Am I too late to join? I'm on another bfp thread but I'm worried I'm ruining their excitement because I'm so anxious due to a mc in may at 12 weeks :-(
I'm six weeks today I think! But had spotting since Wednesday so going for a scan today to check it all out! I don't seem to have any real symptoms so I'm just so scared I've lost another baby :-(

PassTheAfterEights · 19/09/2018 11:51

Oh God @Laney79 so so sorry to read this, huge hugs - hope you have masses of support IRL & the next few weeks are as kind as can be expected xx

Big welcome @toomuchtv88 of course not too late, lovely to have you here - great channel for anyone feeling a bit less giddy and a bit more worried. Useless to say try not to worry about the spotting but hope the scan shows you all good things, fingers crossed for you x

@maydot starting pre-natal yoga this afternoon, midwife said I could start as soon as I was comfortable to after first trimester. She said especially with past losses she would stick to walking until week 12, then after that pick up whatever routine I had had before (gym, swim & classes - no contact sports, horse riding, cycling or skiing!!), BUT with the caveat that you shouldn't go past the point where you can hold a conversation while exercising - high temps affect the baby so you shouldn't push past a light sweat. So basically if you weren't a runner before, not the time to start running - but if you were, jog on (gently!)! Hope that helps!!

@dreaminofholidays any chance you can sneak out for a daytime appt just before you go? If not I think I'd still go before - our BFP was such a surprise we had no idea whether it was 3 weeks or 7 weeks so I booked a private scan to find out and turned out to be 5+2 on the day and we saw a heartbeat. It was scary early but it helped me so much, such a positive boost. Then when I lost my head two weeks later the NHS gave me an early reassurance freebie anyway because of past losses, so I say go for it x

Thanks so much @TheHalfBloodPrincess @Pancakes7 @dreaminofholidays @Jessabean x hear hear hope we all get there soon!!

@PassTheAfterEights thank you for saying that :-) I've had so many people telling me what will be will be etc and I just want to scream! Nice to know other people get it :-) two hours until scan! Driving myself mad!

TheHalfBloodPrincess · 19/09/2018 12:21

Good luck for your scan today @toomuchtv88.

toomuchtv88 · 19/09/2018 12:51

@TheHalfBloodPrincess thank you :-) also love the HP reference!

Pancakes7 · 19/09/2018 13:12

@toomuchtv88 Welcome and don't worry we are all anxious here! I really hope your scan goes well.

I'm feeling really anxious today. I'm so scared of going through it all again. My 7 week scan feels so long away. I'm desperate for time to hurry up but then also terrified to go incase its bad news. Anyone else driving themselves crazy?

TheHalfBloodPrincess · 19/09/2018 13:19

It’s the scans I’m anxious about.

I bit the bullet and referred myself to the midwife. Booking in on October 1st when I’ll be 7 weeks as she’s on holiday the following week. Half and half whether to ask for an early scan or not.

Pancakes7 · 19/09/2018 13:23

@TheHalfBloodPrince I booked one privately. I know I'll go insane waiting till 12 weeks again. Also as mine was a missed miscarriage I know my symptoms don't mean that it's ok. So my only confirmation is a scan. I really need the next 2 weeks to go quickly!! We go to Berlin 1st till 4th October and I'm not even excited now I just want my scan.

PurpleFushia · 19/09/2018 13:37

So sorry to hear your news @Laney79 - hope you've got lots of RL support to lean on.

Lovely scan @passtheaftereights ! Glad to see new people here as well, and just hang in there the time passes eventually. I was surprisingly ok for the first 7 weeks or so, I think it's more stressful in the weeks when you've MCed before though - I was nearing 8.5 weeks but MC started at 11 last time

I've cracked and booked a scan - I had to postpone my NHS one due to lack of childcare and DH travelling so it probably won't be until the 2nd week of October - so I've booked one for next Wednesday when I'll be 11+3. At least then I'm past all the last MMC dates and if all is well I'll be very reassured. If not of course I'll have to deal with it but that would inevitably be the case anyway at some point. Feel a bit more in control this way at least.

Not having many symptoms anymore - still tired and some aches in the stomach/low abdomen area which could be round ligament pain, very occasional nausea but not much at all. But then by now that's what I'd expect, this is the problem with having had an MMC, second guessing everything! Roll on next week!

dreaminofholidays · 19/09/2018 16:33

@laney79 I am so sorry xxx

@pancakes7 yes, driving myself totally crazy here. Im at 5+2 today, last time the bleeding started at 5+3.
I think if I make it to 6 weeks I'll book the early scan for 6+6 to try and get some reassurance. All being well will probably mean I want another early scan but that's worry for another day xxx

Pancakes7 · 19/09/2018 18:35

@Purplefusia Yes I'm the same the mmc has meant I don't trust my body to tell me if something's gone wrong. @dreaminofholidays I'm feeling extra worried today. Husband is home from work trip though which is lovely. He's my rock.

Maydot · 19/09/2018 20:25

@Laney79 I am so so sorry, I know there are no words that will make you feel any better right now just take care of yourself and know we are all thinking of you and sending lots of love.

@PassTheAfterEights, Thanks for the advice. I went back to the gym on Saturday and was just a little worried but I think as long as I take it steady it can’t do any harm.

@toomuchtv88 How did the scan go?

Pancakes7 · 19/09/2018 21:13

Oh yes @Toomuchtv88 how did your scan go? All ok I hope. 16 days and counting till mine.

toomuchtv88 · 19/09/2018 21:16

Thank you for remembering me xx

Not very well... they couldn't see anything on ultrasound so I have had to have bloods done today then will be repeated on Friday. Basically it's either a mc, ectopic or too early to see? They said my womb looked thickened? Whatever that means and that they aren't particularly worried. I obviously am :-( still got brown discharge too :-(

Pancakes7 · 19/09/2018 21:22

Oh @toomuchtv88 I'm so sorry you have this worry. I really hope all is ok. Try and think positively. We are here if you need to talk.
