Extra supportive pregnancy journey thread for grads of the penguin huddle and anyone due spring 2019 after a long and bumpy road.

All welcome 🐧

Thou shalt share and not apologise for any neurosis or worry

Thou shalt shuffle immediately to the centre of the huddle when feeling vulnerable or hopeless

Thou shalt share all photographs and good news and celebrate raucously that of others

Thou shalt not apologise for TMI, or pearl-clutchy words and language

Thou shalt add your handle, age, number of DC and EDD when joining the thread to roll call so we know where everyone is (thanks!)

@Swisbest2 very much so. My reaction was pretty much, oh crap this is actually happening.😆 Don't worry about the not being sick, I had horrible nausea but no actual sickness for a few weeks though it did kick in eventually. For some the nausea is all they get, though I'm not sure it's any better really.

@Jessabean I hope baby behaves so you can get a nice clear potty shot this evening!

Pancakes7 · 26/10/2018 18:28

@Swisbest2 Don't worry most people just get nausea rather than sickness. My SIL had no sickness or nausea until 2nd trimester. Other people I know had none at all. Everyone is affected differently by the hormones.

@Hidcat Beautiful scan! Congrats on finding out the gender. Lovely you've announced it now.

@Jessabean Good luck for your scan. I hope baby is facing the right way for you to find out the gender.

What does everyone think? Re nub/ skull theory .? Gender scan this Thursday! This one is from 11+5/6 which of course isn't ideal but just a bit of craic!

Ah ladies, little miss paranoid here. Looking for support and basically to be told it's all alright!

I'm sick. I think it's man flu. Honestly it's not flu but it's a cold and it's hit me super hard. Earlier on I was coughing so hard, I threw up. The coughing (and puke) is so hard I feel like my insides are crunching in to knots. I'm worried about baby.

Not so much about the cold, but I've been so careful not to "push" or force anything with the squeezey pelvic floor type muscles and now I feel like I must have ripped bean to shreds in there. I know it can't be true, but looking for reassurance from others who have perhaps made it through with some "aggressive" vomiting. I know it's a bit mad but I guess I've spent all day on the sofa totally wiped out with this, I'm so dizzy I can't really stand up, and I'm just so worried these stomach cramps are going to squeeze it out

frankiefumbles · 26/10/2018 20:18

@lolacola13 that's a lovely scan

HidCat · 26/10/2018 21:51

@lolacola13 so pleased to see things progressing well for you! I thought it may be a girl as with my son and the baby I lost my early pregnancy symptoms were identical and this one was different. I'm convinced we lost a boy as a result. Do you have any thoughts on yours at this point? I'd guess a girl by your 12 week scan but apparently I'm rubbish so it's a 50/50 guess tbh 🙈

@frankiefumbles I hope you feel better soon. I have to hold my tummy when I cough or sneeze as it feels so weird lol.

Pancakes7 · 26/10/2018 22:27

@lolacola13 Beautiful scan pic. Gender scan, how exciting!

Jessabean · 26/10/2018 23:20

So had my scan and everything is looking great! 👍 Feeling so relieved! Don't know why I was as nervous for this one as I was for my 12 weeks scan but feeling much more reassured after seeing everything looking like it's developing normally with this one today. Is starting to feel more real. And managed to get a good crotch view and am also having a little girl! 💕 Girl power all round in this group it seems!
@lolacola13 lovely scan pic. Tricky but I'd say girl as well! Good luck for your scan!

@frankiefumbles I really wouldn't worry sticky beans are pretty resilient little things and pretty well protected and cosy in there however much your straining! I hope you feel better soon though that sounds horrid! 🙁

kisses4u · 26/10/2018 23:23

@frankiefumbles I feel your pain. I'm puking like that at least 3x a day. I've had a good day today but likely a rebound effect from the rehydration I received yesterday. They gave me a litre of fluid and I had a wee! I've not had to pee in weeks! I go once a day if that. I would be worrying about one episode of vomiting really, although it's horrendous and feels like you are doing damage, you're really not. Sending hugs xxx

Newbie21 · 26/10/2018 23:45

Lovely to see these healthy scan pics. Congratulations ladies.

And I hope those of you - @frankiefumbles, @kisses4u and @Swisbest2 and others - who are suffering from sickness or nausea and generally feeling a bit rubbish will soon feel much better.

I'm still not having any symptoms at all apart from tiredness and I'm still super paranoid that it could mean bad news but fingers crossed I'm just a lucky lady. Another 15 days until my scan.

lolacola13 · 26/10/2018 23:55

@HidCat and thanks to all y'all that commented . I'm thinking girl tbh but the skull shape is very boyish it's the double of my sons face shape lol. I have one of each all all healthy so very blessed im
Not fussed but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't leaning slightly towards wanting a girl more only because the kids said they'd love a baby sister even my son who is 12 and hen pecked by his sister said another girl would be amazing which surprised me! Soon find out eh!! I'm just grateful and glad to have got this far as I'm sure we all are. Hugs to everyone!

frankiefumbles · 27/10/2018 07:55

Thanks ladies. I know it's a bit silly because bean must now be sticky enough to stay in, but it's just nerve wracking feeling the tummy spasm and thinking "uhoh" and the cramps pains of an icky tummy. I'm being "sensible" because I know the pain is too high, but it just triggers the mind.

Congrats @Jessabean that is one heck of a bean you've grown yourself. It looks like a proper baby!!

xJune88 · 27/10/2018 11:02

Pouring with red blood again as we speak. So fed up :( got family round today they've travelled 4 hours so can't cancel. Epu is shut till Monday. What the fuck :( x

frankiefumbles · 27/10/2018 11:22

@xJune88 that's such a nightmare. Sorry to hear it. The only very vaguely consolation is because it's happened to you before, maybe it's just the way your body chooses to deal with pregnancy. But jeez. Inconvenient and distressing!

xJune88 · 27/10/2018 11:50

Feel like my hearts been ripped out everytime it happens! So strange. First pregnancy was just a loss at 7 weeks and done. 2nd had no bleeding at all and was a mmc and this one I have no idea what it's doing! Confused don't know whether to cry my eyes out or still have hope. No clots this time though and still no pain at all. Very strange x

frankiefumbles · 27/10/2018 13:22

@xJune88 no consolation but my friend had bleeding all the way through and she's about 28 weeks now and all okay. I'm so sorry it keeps happening though because no matter what, even if we try not to get attached to these beans we do.

frankiefumbles · 27/10/2018 13:30

From my point of view, from what you've said before, there's every chance it's going to be okay. It sounds like this is just your "normal"

toasterstrudle · 27/10/2018 15:03

@xJune88 I know that'll be an awful worry, but with DS I had bright red blood quite a few times in first trimester. With second pregnancy I had no bleeding and that was mmc at 12 week scan. When I had my early miscarriage it was like a very strong period, cramps, clots and thick dark red blood. Hope yours is just bleeds like I had with DS. Fingers crossed all is well for you x

xJune88 · 27/10/2018 15:04

Booked a private scan for tomorrow at 10.15 will update! X

Newbie21 · 27/10/2018 15:36

@xJune88 I hope the scan goes well. Such a worry for you. It must me so distressing. As others have said, it might unfortunately be part of your pregnancy which totally sucks but I'm hopeful all will be well with your little one xxx

xJune88 · 27/10/2018 16:55

Still bleeding and passed another clot just as big as last time. I'll be amazed if baby is still alive. Really am praying it's just sending me insane. X

frankiefumbles · 27/10/2018 17:12

@xJune88 we've all got our fingers crossed and hoping for the best for you. It's great you've managed to get an appointment first thing. Sending all the best wishes. I know we've all been through some rough times but honestly I can't imagine how rough it must be for this to happen twice to you. Sending hugs x

dreaminofholidays · 27/10/2018 18:31

@xJune88 Sorry you're having all of this additional anxiety. Must be very difficult. Fingers crossed your little one is all fine in there and it is just more random bleeding.
Keep us posted xx
