@Martydog I'm so sorry, it's so unfair. Thinking of you.

HidCat · 21/10/2018 17:57

@martydog I'm so sorry. I hope you get plenty of support and that things are better next time.

Swisbest2 · 21/10/2018 18:08

Hey everybody can i join please? Apparently my pessimism isnt welcome on other boards maybe you lot will understand my reasons. Mc sept 17 no idea how far along as suprise mmc june 18 stopped growing 5w3 empty sac mc naturally at home 12 weeks later very traumatic and painful.

Im now 7w4 had a 6 week scan which i was promised id get as well as 8 week though after first scan nurse said alls fine so will have to wait until 12 week scan. In the meantime im struggling. With the mmc the only two things were that i had had brown discharge from 5 weeks (kept being told this was normal even though i felt it wasnt) and my boobs didnt get as big as previous. This time nothing apart from strong anytime nausea drowsiness and boobs are 2 sizes bigger- still im thinking ill have another mmc 😣😣

Maydot · 21/10/2018 20:05

Welcome @Swisbest2 and hey everybody else 👋🏼
So I’ve been for another private scan today!!... That’s scan number 5, I’m obsessed. Everything is looking perfect, 16+5 today. Our little bean was laying in a very difficult position, facing my spine and snuggled in to the placenta but it did turn to look at the camera for a second. It was the cutest thing!!... Kicking, waving and wiggling about. We were trying super hard to check the gender but it was not having any of it so we’re not very confident with the prediction. We’ll have to try again at the 20 week! xx

Newbie21 · 21/10/2018 20:23

So sorry @Martydog x

Newbie21 · 21/10/2018 21:28

@Maydot glad the scan went well and baby is an active little thing.

@Swisbest2 welcome to the thread. You are certainly in good company here. We all understand the anxiety.

I'm 6wks+2days and, apart from being pretty tired and falling asleep early evenings, I have no symptoms whatsoever. I didn't have many symptoms when pregnant with my DS, nor did I when I had my MMC at 11 weeks but I keep saying to my DH that I'm not sure I feel pregnant. He thinks is because I had the MMC before (and a CP last cycle) that I am worrying more, which he understands, but I'm not sure. Surely I should have that pregnant feeling, I'm sure I had that before. I'm having a scan on 11th Nov so just got to hold out until then.

lolacola13 · 21/10/2018 21:56

Welcome @Swisbest2 !! Don't worry I had zero and I mean zero symptoms too until 8/9 weeks and then just nausea. I have had two Mc this year and I so get where ur coming from . My symptoms also stopped at 11 weeks and all is well now I'm nearly 16 weeks . Hang in there and try keep busy xoxoxox

frankiefumbles · 22/10/2018 06:44

@Swisbest2 I hope you aren't referring to my comments on the other thread. I just thought you might prefer to talk about things in more detail on this thread. I'm by no means suggesting you should hide your past on the other thread but you sounded like you might want to talk about it more, and here you are surrounded by people with similar experiences. Apologies if I've offended you.

@Maydot glad your bean is looking good!

Swisbest2 · 22/10/2018 08:32

Thanks for the welcomes everybody @maydot thats so lovely must be so overwhelming 😊 @frankiefumbles im incredibly sensitive at the best of times let alone atm so no offence taken i just felt a bit of a debbie downer just cant help it im afraid. Anyway few days off and up at 530 feeling so sick that im playing with new kitten to take my mind off it 😁

Newbie21 · 22/10/2018 08:34

@lolacola13 that is very comforting. Glad your pregnancy is progressing well.

Jessabean · 22/10/2018 10:26

Welcome @Swisbest2! Don't worry we're all Debbie downers here- pregnancy after loss is frickin hard & it's totally allowed!

@Maydot that's great! Have got my next private scan (will be my 4th don't worry equally obsessed!) on Friday at 16+4 and can't wait! Equally still get some nerves at thought of any scan though! We're hoping to find out gender too but know it can be tricky if they're not cooperating!! Must be so nice to see them wriggling around though! Have you felt any movements yet?

Maydot · 22/10/2018 11:43

@Jessabean That’s so exciting!!... I completely understand the anxiety, I was in tears on the way to the scan and still haven’t bought anything for the baby yet. We’re desperate to know the gender, the sonographer said it looks like a girl but she wasn’t 100% sure so we’re waiting for the 20 week scan. We only had a 10 min apt booked but luckily for us the sonographer was training on new equipment so we ended up with a 30min Scan, heard the heartbeat and she had a go getting a 4D image!!
I thought I felt some movement on Friday night but not 100% sure, I moved on to my side suddenly in bed and felt a constant pulse in my tummy, felt almost like a twitch. Apparently my placenta is positioned well at the back so I should feel lots of movement eventually... I can’t wait!!
Have you!??

Pancakes7 · 22/10/2018 12:35

Welcome @Swisbest2 we understand your worries. It's difficult for someone without having had an mc or mmc to understand. This group are very understanding and supportive. Perhaps book yourself a private scan for reassurance if the nhs won't give you one. I had one at 7 weeks +2 and another at 9 weeks +2. Baby was wiggling and hearing the heartbeat was amazing. It might help you worry less. I'm 9 weeks +4 today. Got dating scan on 12th Nov. It can't come soon enough!!

Swisbest2 · 22/10/2018 13:33

@pancakes7 yeah that 6 week scan was the first time id ever seen anything and when she showed me hearbeat i sobbed like a baby its incredoble isnt it 😊 i may well book in for 9 weeks ish unless i can convince epu

Pancakes7 · 22/10/2018 13:50

@Swisbest2 Yeah, I was the same when I went for 7 week one I was crying as I laid down. Then when she said there's a baby and a heartbeat, I cried when more! I just wanted to go back to make sure baby is still growing. We got to hear heartbeat this time which is even more amazing. Baby does a lot of growing in those 2 weeks! It was 11mm at 7 weeks +2 now at 9 weeks +2 it was 25mm! It was worth every penny.

Swisbest2 · 22/10/2018 15:18

Wow @pancakes7 i hope i get to see that have you found the scans reassuring?

Pancakes7 · 22/10/2018 15:22

@Swisbest2 Yes they have been worth paying for. I am alot more relaxed and excited. I was so anxious before as last time I had an mmc with no scans so with all symptoms I thought all was ok. I needed scans this time to make sure.

frankiefumbles · 22/10/2018 15:30

@Pancakes7 great news on the scan!!!

Today has been odd. I’m feeling okay and all is well generally BUT I’ve had a whole series of appointments with patients and have been able to smell every person that has walked in to the room 😂 the sort of smell where...if you picked up a top and sniffed to check to see if it's worn. Not stinky smell but just the innate human smell. Really really odd to be able to smell it at a distance...

Pancakes7 · 22/10/2018 15:41

@frankiefumbles I think you have a heightened sense of smell when pregnant. Hopefully no one stinky comes in.

I haven't said anything so far but I actually had a bug/ infection... a rare one and gp put me on antibiotics and said won't affect baby (extra reason for the 2nd scan) finished them and felt ok. But here we go again, feeling unwell. The gp wasn't in and no free appointments tomorrow. I've booked a phone call with her tomorrow. Hoping she'll give me more antibiotics and I can finally shift this. I hate having this extra worry. Plus it's uncomfortable

xJune88 · 22/10/2018 16:41

So so so sorry @martydog can't imagine what you're going through my scare was bad enough. So sorry lots of love.

Just rang the scan enquiries to book my nuchal scan, can't get me in until the 8th November when I'll be 12+6 not looking forward to the wait! Will probably book another scan before then just can't stand the thought of another mmc. Nice to see more scan pics!! 10+2 today, wanted to tell my mum for her birthday at 11+2 but I daren't incase I have to tell her bad news after ☹ such a crap situation x

Pancakes7 · 22/10/2018 16:57

@xJune88 This time we told my in laws and my Mum and my brother and sister in law as we wanted the support. We have both found it helpful with family knowing. Obviously up to you though.

toasterstrudle · 22/10/2018 17:16

Great news about your scan @Pancakes7!

Welcome @Swisbest2 , I think everyone here understands the worries, I've had two mc this year, one was also a mmc at 12 weeks so I am really anxious about that too. I think I'll end up having a number of early scans!

Trying to hold off until 8 weeks for my first early scan, I'm offered one by epu anyway given history. But then I just know I'll no doubt be booking a scan every week after that, DH will not be happy at the cost I'm sure!

Swisbest2 · 22/10/2018 19:52

Horrible that our bodies trick us like that isnt it @pancakes7 i still believe the brown diacharge i got that started the time they said the sac had got to size wise was a sign but they fobbed me off. Ive been crazily googling how common mmc is over mc hoping to find something that will help me feel more sane but nothing

toasterstrudle · 22/10/2018 20:00

@Swisbest2 can you get your next scan booked? if I were you I'd book your next scan soonish so you've got a date to focus on. I think that'd help. I'm only 5+6 but going to have an 8 week, 10 week and 12 week, just to have some dates to focus on and distract from mmc anxiety. I'll no doubt have more scans after if all goes well!

I also had mmc at 12 weeks and I'd had literally nothing to suggest it wasn't progressing, including all symptoms. Had been given medication for HG! I wish I'd had early scans then so I would have known earlier, it's not nice feeling blindsided like that so I totally understand your anxiety.
