Would anyone be interested in joining a secret Facebook group? Would be easier to keep up with everyone plus it would be nice to put a face to a name.

I’m still on a mn bus from when I had ds and it’s been a huge source of support, advice and now genuine friendship.

I was thinking of setting one up maybe in a few weeks time?

Pancakes7 · 19/10/2018 20:09

Yes I would be interested in a private Facebook group.

kisses4u · 19/10/2018 20:34

I'd be keen, but I feel like I want to get to 12 weeks first, so could join you all after my scan on nov. 5th?!

HalfBloodPrincess · 19/10/2018 20:44

@kisses4u that’s when I was thinking of doing it. I think a lot of us have scans that week too.
I’ll get something set up and sort out the logistics closer to the time.

Pancakes7 · 19/10/2018 21:06

Yes maybe I'll join after mine on 12th.

Pancakes7 · 19/10/2018 21:08

I was in a group last time and they removed me when things went wrong for me, the day of. Which was very hurtful. I know I needed to leave but it felt harsh. Good idea to wait.

dreaminofholidays · 19/10/2018 22:05

@frankiefumbles what a lovely scan photo. Was DH thrilled when he saw it? What is the theory where people guess the sex from the 12 week scan photo?

@pancakes7 good luck for tomorrow, keep us posted. Love hearing about the scans.
That seems incredibly harsh to remove you from the group but perhaps they thought they were doing the right thing?

@kisses4u @halfbloodprincess I think we are all having our scans on 5th Nov right? Started thinking of it as 2 weeks Monday, seems less far away!

I would be interested in a secret Facebook group. I am not going to announce anything on Facebook about being pregnant so just want to make sure it is secret 😊 xxxx

frankiefumbles · 20/10/2018 06:36

There appear to be two theories. Nub theory and Ramzi Theory. I wonder if she's working on Ramzi Theory? I know the top of the scan is most external and the bottom is most internal but some of the scans flip when displayed so it's still not clear. Info below
www.thegenderexperts.com/ramzi-theory/

@Pancakes7 that's brutal. My second group have actually had me back on that basis that I'm only a couple of months behind them! Very kind of them. Glad your scan date has arrived. No info on mine!

@HalfBloodPrincess if you want a hand, I'm happy. Last time I did it, people messaged me on here and either sent their name to me or searched for me. Because it's a hidden group you need the name to add someone and to be friends. The current group I'm on (May) seem to be doing it using an email address and skipping the friend adding then deleting bit

Re DH he didn't mind but he's not as visibly excited as I am or my parents. That's fine. He's playing it cool.

I had my first scan in London and it was much clearer than this second one (Exeter). I don't live in either of these places but was passing!

kisses4u · 20/10/2018 08:45

Ooh that Ramzi theory looks interesting, I tried nub theory with DS which predicted girl ?! So I'm a bit of a skeptic but I do find these things interesting, it's all a bit exciting!
So @frankiefumbles what does the ramzi theory suggest for you?
I just looked at my 7+2 scan pic for a clue and it looks like it's splat bang in the bottom middle of the pic, so which ever way you flip it it's in the middle... no idea what this suggests as this theory says left or right?! I'm def going to ask at 12 week scan which side placenta is looking to be on! 😆 I can't believe I made it to 41 weeks not knowing with DS. Though I felt he was a he the entire time... after he was born no one actually said anything! They passed him to me and I had to ask! 😆😆😆

Pancakes7 · 20/10/2018 10:54

Thanks all. About to leave for the scan. Hopefully I'll have a lovely scam pic to share soon.

Pancakes7 · 20/10/2018 10:54

Scan* pic

frankiefumbles · 20/10/2018 11:02

@kisses4u even if baby is in the middle, you might be able to see the placenta/yolk to one side? I'm somewhat bemused as to how to tell if it's flipped. It's my understanding that for external...if you imagine looking down the probe as it sees in, the left and right it sees (and shown on your scan) are left and right "as you're looking" from someone else's place (rather than your left and your right side of body.

I believe that my scan shows the top of the uterus at the bottom of the scan, so I have to turn it around 180deg to be in the correct alignment.

My placenta can just be seen to the left of the baby, but that's before you turn it. So rotate and it would actually be right and therefore be a girl if you compare it to the photos in my previous link. However (MASSIVE CAVEAT) I want a girl and I'm convinced it is a girl therefore I would want flip my image to match 😂 and that doesn't account for whether it's a mirror image or not. I think it's all a load of tosh but tbh I don't have a lot else to do with my time at the moment because I feel so wiped out 😂

frankiefumbles · 20/10/2018 11:03

And on all those photos I've just noticed the left and the right is backwards. So maybe that's what's prompted her to say girl?

frankiefumbles · 20/10/2018 11:34

@Pancakes7 missed your post. Good luck!!! Let us know (and ask which side the placenta is on!!)

Pancakes7 · 20/10/2018 13:29

Scan went well! We heard the heartbeat. Baby was wiggling and it's little arm was up. Placenta isn't fully formed yet but its growing. Not sure which side it was as she flipped it round in the pics.

Pancakes7 · 20/10/2018 13:34

9 weeks +2 scan

Newbie21 · 20/10/2018 14:40

Lovely news @Pancakes7 glad the scan went well.

kisses4u · 20/10/2018 19:32

Great scan pic @Pancakes7 can really see a little baby there! Hearing the heart beat must be so amazing!

@frankiefumbles I'm totally confused! Haha! I think the bright spot on my scan was what I was looking at and it really is bottom middle! I think it might have to wait until 12 weeks to find a more serious answer. I also want a girl this time, but I will be happy with either as at the end of the day all we all want it a healthy bubba regardless of gender! 😊🙏

Martydog · 20/10/2018 21:53

Glad your scans are all positive. Unfortunately I started bleeding on Thursday evening and I ended getting a scan on Friday to find out that there was no heartbeat the sac hadn’t grown since my scan on 5th October. I hope everyone continues doing well are holding their babies in the spring. Unluckily it won’t be me but this is miscarriage number 3 so they will have to refer me now.

toasterstrudle · 20/10/2018 22:04

@Martydog I'm so very sorry Thanks

toasterstrudle · 20/10/2018 22:06

And also lovely news @Pancakes7 and @frankiefumbles . DS has just been diagnosed with hand foot and mouth so I'm a bit extra nervous today, but then keep reminding myself it's a very common illness amongst toddlers and therefore pregnant women must be exposed to it all the time.

kisses4u · 20/10/2018 22:34

@Martydog I'm so sorry for your loss, it's so unfair. I really hope you are ok and have lots of support. I hope you can get some answers now you will be referred. Sending hugs xxx

dreaminofholidays · 20/10/2018 22:55

@martydog I am so sorry, truly unfair. I hope having a referral will give you answers. Make sure you look after yourself xxx

HalfBloodPrincess · 20/10/2018 23:54

So sorry martydog x

Jessabean · 21/10/2018 08:41

Sorry just catching up!

@Martydog I'm so so sorry. We've all been there and have some idea of the pain you must be feeling so know there is nothing up say to help but just want to say am thinking of you, life sometimes can just be shit and it sucks and always here if you want to chat. Take care of yourself.

@Pancakes7 congrats on your scan! Beautiful picture.

Hope everyone else is getting on ok/not suffering too much?
I've got a private scan on Friday where we're hoping to find out gender- though I'm still also more just wanting to check all is still ok really! Still struggling to feel confident! 🙈
