I looked into the Daisy Foundation, but the class by me is for women only which is a big no for us. I want my OH to feel as part of the birth and baby care as I am so it's essential that he comes along to the sessions, especially as he'll be taking 6-8 weeks off to look after the baby whilst I go back to work.

Currently we're looking at NCT and then the NHS Hypnobirthing course which is going to cost a pretty penny between them, but I'm quite keen to give the Hypnobirthing a go.

Fredthespider · 01/08/2018 19:29

Nice scan @Lookingforadvice123!

Baby160P · 01/08/2018 19:37

@Lookingforadvice123 we're 10+5 it's lovely to see from your pic what our baby looks like. Looks lovely!

twiglet · 01/08/2018 19:40

We have booked NCT although it's 20 min away as its that or a short NHS session.
Also booked a private gender scan (can you tell its pay day?!) for 16 weeks Smile

1stTimeTina · 01/08/2018 19:51

Just moving over from other thread 😊 our scan is a week on Thurs although I’ll be 12 weeks this Fri, feels like a life time away!!

Camsie30 · 01/08/2018 19:57

@1stTimeTina I'll be 12 weeks on Friday too xx

UndercoverLauren · 01/08/2018 20:01

@1stTimeTina Snap on both dates!

Lookingforadvice123 · 01/08/2018 20:32

Baby160p the scan itself was much clearer than the pics Smile was lovely x

DragonFlew · 01/08/2018 21:51

Just joining this new thread!
Had my booking appt today, hopefully will get a scan date through the post soon. Midwife is coming round in Sunday to do my bloods and finish my booking as she didn't have time today!

FrowningFlamingo · 01/08/2018 22:57

For those of you with meds for morning sickness, here are the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology guidelines - I've been quite lucky but I was terrified of getting morning sickness so looked into it a lot while TTC!

Who else was it who has a harmony test recently? Have you had your results yet? I'm waiting for mine and feeling very impatient!!

craftymum01 · 01/08/2018 23:03

Does anyone else get sudden weird bursts of energy? I just moped my kitchen floor so vigorously I gave myself a stitch! No idea why I am feeling the need to clean at 11pm either

ValentinesBaby · 01/08/2018 23:15

Lovely to see everyone doing well and enjoying looking at these scan pictures it's so exciting. I'm 12 weeks today and got my scan a week on Friday, can't wait to see it! Hoping the tiredness will magically disappear soon but been very lucky with no sickness! Keep the lovely scan pics coming ♡

Picklesandpies · 01/08/2018 23:32

@jeanzbeanz thanks for chicken soup tip. I did buy some cuppa soup but haven't braved them yet. I'm getting so tired of having to brace myself for what effect it will have (I like your term 'in reverse') I did, to my great shame, eat a chicken pot noodle in the car on the way to our scan (classy!)

@Notquiteagandt Sorry you have had such a rotten time of it. I had HG in first pregnancy when I was much younger and I didn't even know that's what it was - it was just foul and vomiting constantly day and night is not something I ever want to experience again. It was completely different with our second daughter though - only sick a couple of times. Don't feel great this time though so guess they are right when they say every pregnancy is different. Thanks for passing on your doctor's words of reassurance. I'm lying here wondering whether to just take one of the pills as it's been such a crap day with it today (only actually sick twice but have felt rotten.) I do hope you start to feel better soon. My HG disappeared practically overnight at 17 weeks with dc1 so this 16 week theory must be true.

@MrsY87 Thanks for advice re NCT. A refresher course would be so much more useful and time wise much less impactful. I don't have a bee in my bonnet about doing NCT in particular (we couldn't afford it years ago with dc1/2) but I think it would be a good way to meet other Mum's and Dad's - it always seems that people stay in touch. I like the fact that a reunion is organised by the leader.

@Koalatom1 I'll look up Lazy Daisy, thanks.

@Lookingforadvice123 Lovely scan photo Smile

Right, must go to sleep. Have been asleep on sofa for hours but only just in bed. Spent no time with my husband which just seems par for the course at the moment - sleeping for hours each evening isn't exactly conducive to quality time!

Picklesandpies · 01/08/2018 23:34

@FrowningFlamingo thanks for sharing that photo. Really useful and reassuring.

MrsY87 · 02/08/2018 05:15

Have woken up to some bleeding, not a lot but enough to be in my pjs. Had a scan last Thursday at the epu following some bleeding last week and the sonographer said she could see a small area she thought it had come from and I could have a bit more but I'm still really worried. Think I'll give the epu a call and see what they say, my 12w scan isn't til next Thursday which feels like a lifetime away now I've seen blood. Bleeding in pregnancy is so scary 😞

Baby160P · 02/08/2018 05:31

@MrsY87 hopefully it's just the bleed they saw on the scan. Definitely call even if it's just for your own peace of mind xx

Baby160P · 02/08/2018 05:34

My other half woke with cramp half an hour ago and which made me jump and I'm now awake feeling VERY sick. Lucky to say I'm rarely nauseous these days and have not physically been sick.

I really feel for you guys with morning sickness I DO NOT know how you do this daily!! ❤️

fizzledays · 02/08/2018 06:43

@Lookingforadvice123 awww lovely pic!! Our 12 week is on Monday...had one at 8 1/2 weeks but according to all these apps a LOT has changed since then. Am so nervous for it Confused

maxiflump1 · 02/08/2018 07:40

Wow nearly 100 posts already and not even 24 hours since I started the thread!

Love seeing all these scan pics. Good luck to those who have them in the next few days

@MrsY87 sorry to hear about your bleed. Fingers crossed all ok and you get some reassurance today x

@mrsy87 I hope everything’s ok xxx

Strange question but Has anyone continued with laser hair removal in pregnancy?

Picklesandpies · 02/08/2018 07:58

Hope the EPU can see you quickly today @MrsY87. Hopefully it's just the same as what they saw before. I had bleeding throughout my first pregnancy, including bright red blood and it was all fine (I know it's scary though.) Thinking of you - let us know how you get on today.

Lookingforadvice123 · 02/08/2018 08:08

Hope you get seen MrsY. I'm sure it's the same as what you had last week but of course it's always worrying xx

What's everyone's views on running (well, jogging!) during pregnancy? I know the general advice is that it's safe to do what you did before, I was too scared when pregnant with DS so only ended up doing pregnancy workout classes. I haven't run in a few years really but before getting pregnant I was doing a very hardcore HIIT class twice a week, so my fitness was probably better than when I was just doing running.

I'm thinking of joining a nice gym and getting back into exercise slowly, cross trainer, bike etc, then maybe trying a little park run. They're only 5km so I could probably jog that in 30 mins comfortably.

DragonFlew · 02/08/2018 08:10

@1stTimeTina no - I read that you're not suppose to have it during pregnancy? Also not allowed to used hair removal creams.
Shaving/waxing is ok.

DragonFlew · 02/08/2018 08:15

@Lookingforadvice123 I asked my mw about this yesterday! She said to just tone it down to a more gentle workout. I was thinking of just doing uphill power walking on the treadmill, spinning and swimming. She also said not to do really heavy weights but to do light weights more reps. I will join a pregnancy yoga class in a few weeks too.
