My tummy is definitely starting to change at 10+4. I’ve always had a big stomach which I hate so I’m struggling with it a bit as I just look fat at the moment. I’m wearing a white Asos maternity t shirt with a short black stretchy H&M skirt. It actually looks cool rather than me trying to hide something (I do work in Hackney where just about any outfit can be justified as a fashion statement!)

Since2016 · 02/08/2018 12:47

So much bigger in comparison to #1! I didn’t show at all till 20 weeks... this time however!

Since2016 · 02/08/2018 12:48

Your uterus doesn’t go back fully after birth so with a second, it springs out much faster! I was desperate to tell ppl with DD and didn’t show... this time I want to hide it and can’t!

Yakadee · 02/08/2018 13:23

@Since2016 - me too! I'm sure I wasn't showing until 18 weeks with my first but defo showing now at 13+4! I'm so glad I told people last week as couldn't have hidden it for long! X

jeanzbeanz · 02/08/2018 14:05

Anyone else finding eating an absolute chore? There is nothing that takes my fancy any more, and for the last few days I've never felt hungry at all. I'm surviving on chicken soup and innocent smoothie! I used to be a bit of a foodie but now... I wish I didn't have to eat!

DragonFlew · 02/08/2018 14:10

@powkin @Lookingforadvice123 I'm also 10+4 - due date buddies!!

I got weighed at my booking appt yesterday and I've put on 5kgs since I got BFP! I think it's mainly the amount of bread I've been eating!

But it was a wake up call and I've cut out all crap food from today! Now I'm feeling slightly better there's no excuse.

Not quite brave enough to go back to the gym yet as I work there too & can't even swim as the bloat is too obvious! But I will after scan!

DragonFlew · 02/08/2018 14:11

@jeanzbeanz I'm the opposite. If I feel hungry it makes me gag. The morning sickness is definitely better if i have something in my belly! Which has lead to grazing all day and feeling terrible before bed!

craftymum01 · 02/08/2018 14:43

Told our families today only to be told both my sister in laws are pregnant too! This is the 2nd time we are all pregnant at the same time! What are the chances!

Baby160P · 02/08/2018 15:04

@DragonFlew I only really fancy bagels and marmite but I just forced some pineapple.

I do slimming world anyway and have adjusted it for a pregnant person but I haven't followed it at all 🙈

Lost 2lb still last week so can't complain.

No appetite!

Lookingforadvice123 · 02/08/2018 15:26

I'm eating so much bread and crisps it's depressing. I'm usually slim, as a non-pregnant person, but it's because I mainly watch what I eat in the week and exercise. I feel super fat already, it's horrible. As soon as my nausea has completely gone and I feel good again I'm going to eat strictly healthily. I'm literally having 3 packets of crisps a day.

DragonFlew · 02/08/2018 16:04

@Lookingforadvice123 I am exactly the same! Starting to feel better today that's why I've meal prepped some soups & made a healthy fish pie for dinner! Salad on the menu tomorrow!

AliceRR · 02/08/2018 16:09

I finding eating helps the nausea too but sometimes don’t fancy anything.

Anyone else heard about having blood tests / checking yours and DP blood type to ensure you do not reject baby / placenta?? Colleague just told me something about her and her hubbu, one is 0 neg and one is 0 positive so they have to give you an injection or something so you don’t reject pregnancy?? I said when do they do that. She said they should have done it by now! 🤔

(12 weeks and haven’t been booked in yet)

lanalawr · 02/08/2018 16:21

@AliceRR If it's what I think you're referring to then as far as I'm aware it's only an issue if the mother is rhesus negative but the baby is rhesus positive. They check your blood group with the other tests they do at your booking/scan appointment. In my area the bloods are taken at the 12 week scan so you wouldn't know until then unless you already knew your blood group.

lanalawr · 02/08/2018 16:22

It's not usually an issue in a first pregnancy either. Here's a link to NHS info. www.nhs.uk/conditions/rhesus-disease/

Celebelly · 02/08/2018 16:24

You don't need it until much later if you are rhesus negative. I am (but my partner is too anyway). About 15% of women are rhesus negative so it's no big deal.

Picklesandpies · 02/08/2018 16:27

@jeanzbeanz The first thing I'm going to do when I feel better is have a Sunday roast with all the trimmings. No matter what day of the week it is! Miss enjoying food so much. Don't fancy anything whatsoever. Even though I know I feel better for eating (only bread, bananas etc)

1stTimeTina · 02/08/2018 16:37

@alicerr yes I have it too, they took my bloods at my booking appt then called after to say I’m rhesus negative. It’s fairly common. All it means is that I had to have an injection at 16 weeks and again when the baby is born. Or if I bleed or knock the bump at any point I have to go in for another injection within 48 hours x

Since2016 · 02/08/2018 16:45

Me too @lookingforadvice123 - I looked at photos of me with DD and I was tiny at this stage. Feel gross. Also get super nauseous if hungry so eating constantly 😕

1stTimeTina · 02/08/2018 16:46

@craftymum01 that’s so sweet that you can all go through it together, good timing!!

DragonFlew · 02/08/2018 16:51

@AliceRR the injection is called Anti D but as the others have said, they'll only offer you it if you are a negative blood group. It doesn't matter about the father because they won't test him.
They give you Anti D at 28 weeks and when baby is born they take some blood from the cord to check baby's blood type. If baby is a positive blood group then you get another dose of Anti D. If baby is negative then you don't need it.
Basically it's because birth is an occasion where baby's blood may cross into yours, as is any type of fall or trauma during pregnancy. Which is why you also get offered Anti D at these occasions.
But only if your Negative blood type.

Leonora94 · 02/08/2018 16:51

@Baby160P how strange that’s all I’ve wanted to eat as well bagels and marmite...thinki I’ve eaten over half a jar this week! I try to go swimming at least twice a week but I confess I haven’t been in two weeks as I’ve been so tired - back to this weekend I think. It’s my first baby and I’m 11 weeks today but already feel like I’m showing and the shape of my belly has 100% changed it now looks all in the middle rather than evenly spread...if that makes sense?!

AliceRR · 02/08/2018 16:54

Thanks @dragonflew @lanalaw I had not heard of that before

AliceRR · 02/08/2018 16:58

@1stTimeTina thank you x

Lookingforadvice123 · 02/08/2018 17:43

Yep dragonflew and Since2016 I used to have salads every day in work for lunch, I haven't been able to stomach them since about week 5! So I'm just having really stodgy stuff, sandwiches, beans on toast etc. As soon as I'm better I'm going to try and have salads if I can stomach them, if not at least it's soup weather soon so I can have them. Have ordered healthy but nice looking meal ingredients for next week so hoping I can stomach them. I think creamy sauces are making me more sick so trying to avoid them!

1stTimeTina · 02/08/2018 17:50

Has anyone else gone off meat? I used to eat it in pretty much every meal but I can’t stomach it now...
