A new thread- yay! Hard to keep up but I love it:)
Had my midwife app and was very nervous as I had a difficult birth and recovery and wasn’t sure how sympathetic they would be towards future birth choices. She was absolutely lovely though and so reassuring and supportive. Huge relief for me and feeling much better now !

@lookingforadvice I ran up until about 25 weeks in first pregnancy and it was fine but I was running 3 x a week for the 7 years previous. But if you weren’t running in the lead up then maybe stick to what you were doing but tone it down a bit? Swimming is great for cardio but low impact and as dragonflew said spinning. I just find I get out of breath much quicker in pregnancy.

I would highly reccommend anyone who has access to pregnancy Pilates to try your best to go ! It’s great for building strength. If you put ‘Megan’s pilates’ into you tube there is a lady on there that does a month by month pregnancy workout video and they’re really good . I’ve not done anything in about 6 weeks mind you so should really take my own advice!!

MrsY87 · 02/08/2018 08:32

Just spoke to the epu, they can't see me til Monday so have booked me in for then. Bleeding seems to have stopped so really hoping it stays that way. We've got our heads around it being twins now so it terrifies me that we might loose one or both 😞 the anxiety of pregnancy is awful.

AliceRR · 02/08/2018 08:33

I wondered about laser too as I have a Tria home laser removal device and haven’t used it for ages but I am more hairy now I’m pregnant!

1stTimeTina · 02/08/2018 08:45

@alicerr I did read into it and the dangers were more surrounding the fact that your skin is more sensitive, it didn’t say anything about being dangerous to the baby. I stopped at first but like you say the pregnancy has made me so much more hairy so I’ve started again (I have a home kit too) I only use it on my legs but still there’s just a voice in my head saying maybe I shouldn’t but the hair growth just stresses me out! Especially in this weather when you want to wear dresses...

MakeLemonade · 02/08/2018 08:46

@MrsY87 I had bleeding in both my previous pregnancies until about 17 weeks - one was a haematoma and one was unexplained. It’s really common, I’m sure I remember my consultant telling me it was about 1/4 healthy pregnancies or something crazy! Not any less worrying in the moment, I know but hopefully a bit reassuring.

I’ve been doing a 30 minute HIIT kickboxing workout which I’ll try and maintain for as long as I can - I think I’ll have to shift to air boxing fairly soon to avoid jolting of hitting bags.

Loved pregnancy yoga last time and there is a pilates class I might try this time too.

Lookingforadvice123 · 02/08/2018 09:06

Tumon unfortunately there's not really an option to tone down what I was doing before - google Ankorr Fitness, you're basically in a harness and doing all sorts of horrible moves! I loved it but it was hands down the hardest exercise I've ever done, much harder than running/spinning. I used to run a lot and ran the half marathon 4 years ago but haven't done much running since having DS. I might see how I go in the gym then ask my midwife...

UndercoverLauren · 02/08/2018 09:13

@Lookingforadvice123 I started running around the time I fell pregnant, figuring getting fitter would help with the whole thing. I'm doing the Couch to 5k programme. It helps me with fatigue and constipation!

@DragonFlew Damn, I didn't know about hair removal creams. :S I may have used them a couple of times.

Since2016 · 02/08/2018 09:23

I’m hoping to get back to the gym / running once I get the all clear on the haematoma. I’ve been told not to do anything while it’s still there ☹️

I ran till 15 weeks with DD - but then it was too painful / bladder issues. Midwife said absolutely not to spinning (mostly because of the temperAture issue) but that gentle running and swimming would be fine. I’m hoping that although I’ve done nothing now since about 6 weeks that I’ll get the all clear soon and I’ll be good to go back to some exercise. I’m also intending to start antenatal yoga locally in September!

Since2016 · 02/08/2018 09:24

@mrsy hope it stops. That’s rubbish they can’t see you till Monday. As you know I’ve had bleeding since 6 weeks and baby has always been fine so keeping fingers crossed for you x

Lookingforadvice123 · 02/08/2018 09:58

Thanks undercoverlauren that's a really good idea - couch to 5k. Think I'll do that!

MrsY87 · 02/08/2018 10:14

Thanks for your reassurance ladies, it seems to have stopped and now is just a bit of brown spotting so hopefully it's just one of those things. The mw was very reassuring on the phone and said it's very common and even more so with twin pregnancies as there is just so much going on in there! It's just scary when the only times I've ever bled in pregnancy have resulted in mc. Just need to keep busy and keep my mind off it til Monday!

powkin · 02/08/2018 10:20

Hope all is ok @MrsY87

I’m having a bad morning and I’m an hour late for work. I’m really exhausted, not helped by cat getting into the habit of waking us up at 4ish every morning for some unfathomable reason. Spent the morning heaving and crying and then getting an awful headache as a result! I’m super emotional most of the time so used to crying but hormones not helping!

Celebelly · 02/08/2018 10:35

I'm planning to go back to swimming three times a week. We are buying a new car as we've had only one for the last 6 weeks and it's driving me mental as we are in a village and DP needs it for work so I can't get anywhere easily. But our car guy is on the case so fingers crossed we will have something soon!

maxiflump1 · 02/08/2018 10:39

So I have quite a considerable bump at 13 weeks. Didn't show with DS until about 18 weeks so a bit worried about how big it's going to get. Told people at work this week after scan and I couldn't really hide it any longer! Confused

@maxiflump1. Aah what a cute bump! Mine is definitely noticeable and I’ll be 12 weeks tomorrow. Stepped on the scales and I only appear to have put on 1lb since becoming pregnant! Thought it would have been more given that bump is fairly noticeable?

Since2016 · 02/08/2018 10:55

@maxiflump1 - I’m the same. I’m sick of trying to hide it and it’s super noticeable. I don’t want to but going to just tell the team next week and stop trying to hide it. It looks better in fitted clothes anyway!! I’d rather wait a few more weeks but people are noticeably looking at it now despite my best efforts! Easier in the winter I reckon...

maxiflump1 · 02/08/2018 11:03

@Since2016 I know I'm sick of trying to hide it in baggy clothes so am now embracing the bump! Still can't really keep maternity trousers up so in that in between stage.

@bubblybrit I weighed myself today and I haven't put any weight on at all! I think it's probably as I hardly ate anything other than salt and vinegar crisps for 3 weeks when nauseous so probably lost weight then and evened our in last couple of weeks!

Lookingforadvice123 · 02/08/2018 11:04

maxiflump lovely bumpie!

I'm 10+4 and mine is noticeable if I was wearing something tight for sure. Wearing loose tops at the mo until I can go public after the 12 week scan. I didn't show until much later with DS, even though I felt huge at the time!

I wish I'd only put on a pound. I won't be weighing at all.

bubblybrit · 02/08/2018 11:06

@maxiflump1. I’m lucky that I’ve not been sick but in the early weeks I really struggled to eat anything without gagging so maybe that’s what it is!

bubblybrit · 02/08/2018 11:08

@Lookingforadvice123. I only weighed myself as it’s my first and was curious to see how my bump contributed to any weight gain. I’ve been fairly sensible in what I’m eating but probably won’t stay that way once trimester two starts!

craftymum01 · 02/08/2018 11:13

12 week scan this morning, all looking good. Now to spend the day celebrating DS’s birthday Smile

1stTimeTina · 02/08/2018 11:17

@maxiflump1 what a lovely bump! Some days I think I have one and other days I don’t ... it’s hard to tell because I’ve lost so much weight with the nausea!

Lovely scan @craftymum01 💕

jeanzbeanz · 02/08/2018 11:39

I've just noticed that I've got a very faint line running up to my belly button! (forgotten what it's called)

UndercoverLauren · 02/08/2018 12:06

Got a beach party with my husband's friends this weekend. They're probably going to notice my slight bump in a swimming costume, plus I'll be refusing drinks. The secret will be out XD

Baby160P · 02/08/2018 12:13

I've read somewhere apparently your bump appears quicker if it's not your first child.

I looked it up because although I'm not a small girl I have a rounded tummy already. Haven't put any weight on but definitely changing shape, 11 weeks tomorrow
