Got my call with NIPT results yesterday, all low risk (no numbers though) and we are expecting a little girl! Hadn't realised how much I wanted to know, cried when they told me. I feel like it's easier to bond with her knowing.
Hope scans go well.

bubblybrit · 14/08/2018 08:19

@emalady. Congratulations on your little girl 😍 How very exciting!

DeliberatelyGinger · 14/08/2018 08:21

maxiflump1 · 14/08/2018 09:17

Gosh @Baby160P that all sounds very scary. Think I would try and take some paracetamols to take the edge off the pain. Hope yours and everyone else's scans go ok today

@twiglet last week I had a headache everyday from about 5pm, paracetamol didn't help but ice on the back of my neck did and I bought some 4head which surprisingly worked well. I was worried but consultant said it's common around this time (12-14 weeks) mine were unbearable. Had them since but mild.

@Lookingforadvice123 good luck for this morning, hope you sleep better tonight.

@Baby160P hope everything goes ok today, that must have really shook you up.

Fredthespider · 14/08/2018 09:41

@Baby160P that's so scary, hopefully you're both ok and all the best for your scan, not long to wait now thankfully :)

@Lookingforadvice123 20 minutes to go!!

clairehr · 14/08/2018 10:13

Good luck to all with scans today.

@Baby160p I'm sure baby will be all snug in there. Hope you're ok!

LottieFrogley · 14/08/2018 11:14

Hi Everyone!
My first time posting and I'm a first time Mumma! Our little one is due 11/2/19...
We've had our 12 week scan (best feeling ever!) and have just booked a Gender Scan through Mothercare for the beginning of September. I've had a little bit of a rough ride through my first trimester, but nothing compared to some.
I'm sorry I haven't been able to read through all your posts, but gather from the last one some of you are having some scans today. Good luck! I so hope everything goes well today! I have everything crossed!
Looking forward to chatting with you all.
Lottie x

powkin · 14/08/2018 11:50

@Baby160P really hope everything is OK, do look after yourself.

Cannot wait for the scan and keep trying to prepare myself for bad news just in case but it’s hard.

Fredthespider · 14/08/2018 12:00

Welcome @LottieFrogley! I'm a first timer too. I tried to convince OH to go for a gender scan but he wasn't having any of it. I thought the price would be £39, but that's for 18 weeks onwards, if you want one at 16 weeks it's £59 and he wasn't keen at £39 lol.

Fredthespider · 14/08/2018 12:03

@Powkin, I was the same with trying to prepare just in case it's bad news! Luckily I lay down and the sonographer went "there's baby and there's the heartbeat" within about 5 seconds. I think I gave the hugest sigh of relief!

DragonFlew · 14/08/2018 12:17

@powkin @fredthespider mine is tomorrow and I've not had any early scans so I am trying not to get too excited just in case something is wrong. But it's so hard, I can't wait to see him/her.

LottieFrogley · 14/08/2018 12:33

Thank you @Fredthespider :-) I managed to convince mine using, what I now termed "the pregnancy card". It's my last ditch resort if I desperately want something. So far it's got me a little aircon unit, a new fridge and now a gender scan! Grin

@Dragonflies Please try not to worry, I know it's hard. I've had my 12 week scan and STILL worry at my next scan baby won't be there. You can't help but have that little niggle xxx

Alicejj8x · 14/08/2018 12:49

Anyone have to have that glucose test?

Lookingforadvice123 · 14/08/2018 12:49

Scan all good, phew! Moved forward several days so 12+6 today with a due date of 20th February! Baby was such a pain though and would not stay still for the measurements, sucks I didn't get to watch it the whole time like DH could as obviously the screen was turned towards the sonographer. Lovely to see though.

Now just the anxious wait for the screening results! The NT measurement was 2.1mm at 12+6 which sounded quite high but thinking back, DS was 1.9mm at 12+5 so I guess it's normal. I'm not going to let myself get worked up about it, they said I'd get a phone call by Friday if it's high risk.

AliceRR · 14/08/2018 12:51

Alicejj8x I do. I think they said it would be at about 26 week’s? Where you fast the night before and then have a blood test and then drink a sugary drink and another blood test after two hours? That’s how MW explained it to me

craftymum01 · 14/08/2018 12:54

@Alicejj8x I am, have it booked in for November due to my BMI being over 30. I had it with my DS as well.

craftymum01 · 14/08/2018 12:55

Great news @Lookingforadvice123 :)

Alicejj8x · 14/08/2018 13:09

@Lookingforadvice123
Ahh your 1 day ahead of me with the due date :) yay glad it was all good

Did the sonographer say about the measurement? The lady who did mine yesterday said everything looks perfect with regards to the bit they measured so many times. One was 1.5mm and then one was 1.8mm and she said that was what she would want to see for how many weeks I am?
I am sure yours will be just fine thou as usually if they can see the fold being thick they would say?

Alicejj8x · 14/08/2018 13:10

@AliceRR
Yes that's the one lol

@craftymum01
Ahh so there's a few of us having to have it then

Well they offered it to me cause I was on metformin for Pcos

DragonFlew · 14/08/2018 13:12

@Lookingforadvice123 that's great!
