Congratulations on all the scans!!

I'm starting to worry a bit as I still haven't felt any movements. I've had 4 scans and nobody has mentioned an anterior placenta, but I'm hoping that's what it is! Haven't got a date for my 20 wk scan yet as I had to cancel the original one, but I hope it comes quick.

In other news, I get to go home on Sunday after 4 weeks looking after my mum! She's coming with me, but has to wait for a few weeks for her surgery, so we've decided to go to the Isle of Man and I can have a bit of my life back Grin

Cakelaur · 09/08/2018 18:53

@kaytees yay!! Welcome to team blue!! 💙
Glad all seems well, and they say that all babies grow at different rates from 14 weeks onwards. So fingers crossed he chunks up a bit. My sonographer kept saying what a good head measurement. Didn't know if she was saying he had a big head!! Haha!! Not sure what makes for a "good head measurement" 😂

@December2018 I had that all last night! Was moving my whole left hand side!! Haha!!

@MagicalCreatures yay!! Gorgeous pics!! Glad all went well!!

Littlebump2018 · 10/08/2018 07:46

Morning ladies, I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and I haven't felt any movements. Is this to case for anyone else? Also feel like my bunks shrinking. I'm prob over thinking everything as my scans on Friday next week

Gemsie1984 · 10/08/2018 07:53

@Littlebump2018 at 20 weeks I was only really feeling little flutters and occasional pokes so I wouldn't worry too much. I've an anterior placenta but been told it's anterior high. I'm now 22+5 and feeling more movement and it's stronger but still sporadic. Some days it's constant and others I might feel him three times the whole day. They're still quite little I think it depends on their position also as they might kick towards the back that you won't necessarily feel.

MagicalCreatures · 10/08/2018 08:21

Totally agree with @Gemsie1984 about the movements @Littlebump2018
I’ve got an anterior placenta too and I’m 20 weeks now. Still not felt a lot of movement. And any movement I have noticed has been days apart. They say it doesn’t get into a pattern until about 26 weeks x

JustCallMeTheOven · 10/08/2018 08:26

@Littlebump2018 i have an anterior placenta too, I have been feeling kicks but they aren't consistent iykwim I'll have loads one day and few the next but I really only feel him in the evenings when I chill on the sofa for half an hour before bed. MW said not to stress out as his HB was good at my last apt and as long as I can feel a few movements a day she's happy, also as others have said until 24/26 weeks they won't be too concerned due to placenta placement making it more difficult xx

JustCallMeTheOven · 10/08/2018 08:32

@MagicalCreatures just realised I'm not on the spreadsheet, can I be added plz xx

MagicalCreatures · 10/08/2018 08:58

@JustCallMeTheOven ofcorse. If you can’t do it yourself by clicking on the link, then post the details on here and I’ll add them for you x

@MagicalCreatures I can't do it without an app :-( I'm 29, from scotland baby 4 due 19th aug and it's a blue one xx

Paranormalbouquet · 10/08/2018 09:21

Hi all, I disappeared for a while as the stress of being pregnant after 3 losses and having an incompetent cervix got to me! Embraced denial for a while!

21 weeks today. Anterior placenta here too- an enormous one that stretches from right over my cervix (hoping it will move) to the top of my uterus. Had scan last week and after a lot of jumping about/drinking Coca Cola we managed to get baby into all the positions needed to see everything! Movements still erratic but getting stronger- could feel them from outside the last few days but only in certain places.

DH doesn’t want to know sex but I think I know after scan!

There’s a concern about placental blood flow on one side so I’m having scans every 4 weeks from now on. Was having cervix scans anyway. Not allowed sex/high impact exercise with placenta praevia but that was banned with cervical stitch anyway so as long as I don’t bleed I’m trying not to worry about it (having a section anyway).

It’s great catching up on everyone’s stories! Are we mostly on countdown to viability now?!

DoAsDreamersDo · 10/08/2018 09:26

My LO is definitely making herself known more by kicking away all last night. I love feeling her moving about even if she did keep me awake (or maybe that was the hip pain and leg cramps). I was 23 weeks yesterday, so I'm sure I'll start to feel her kicks more regularly now! it's so exciting.

Littlebump2018 · 10/08/2018 09:27

Thanks everyone!! Need that reassurance this morning! 💕💕

AGirlinLondon · 10/08/2018 10:18

So funny you say that @paranormal - viability is my new thing to worry about! People are so right - one worry just gets replaced by another! I’m 23+4 now. Can see baby kicking through my skin and it’s busy in there a lot during the day. That has gone up a lot since week 20 so don’t worry guys x

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 10/08/2018 11:00

Yay to the scans everyone!! Also to the reassurance regarding movements - I think a lot of us are in the same boat.
@RomPom I'm so happy to hear that you're able to get back to normality a bit, what a luxury that must feel like right now!
When is viability technically? I seem to find varying opinions...
I dug out our calendar last night and wrote a count down of every working day between now and maternity leave starting 😂 58 days to go!

DoAsDreamersDo · 10/08/2018 13:47

I was told on one of my pregnancy apps this morning that the 24th week is considered viable. I think it's an American app though so may be different over here. I'm 23+1

MagicalCreatures · 10/08/2018 15:40

@JustCallMeTheOven Due date 19th aug??
Before I make assumptions and just put it in, do you mean 19th Dec x

JustCallMeTheOven · 10/08/2018 16:01

Haha yep December haha this is August 🙈 sorry baby brain has me beat today! xx

AGirlinLondon · 10/08/2018 16:13

Yes on viability Tommy’s has a good page on it - seems like 23 weeks onwards with rates really picking up by 26/27. Though obviously not ideal and I wish you all long-cooking buns! X

Cakelaur · 10/08/2018 17:58

@Littlebump2018 I thought this the other day about my bump shrinking. It's totally changed shape. And if you have an anterior placenta it can muffle movements. If you're worried babe, call your midwife.

@Paranormalbouquet welcome to the placenta previa club! I'm complete previa. (Currently) unlikely to move they say so I'm gutted I'm losing my water birth, and also nervous about bleeding and going into labour early. Also nervous about being on bed rest or admitted to hospital, but hoping it all goes smoothly. We've not been told to stop having sex, but we've chosen to, having read up on it, and it's something we'll discuss with the consultant in a couple of weeks. Heading off to France (driving as no flying allowed) which I'm also a little cautious about, but trying to get a last couple weeks of rest in before the 25 week mark. (Incase they stick me on bed rest! 🤣🙈

First viability is 24weeks. Second is 27weeks, then after 30weeks you're pretty safe. I'm hoping to get to 30weeks with no complications but obviously the more bub cooks the better it is.

In other news... I've done it.... I've ordered everything!! Cot, chest of drawers/changer, nursing chair, pram and accessories, car seat, isofix, mirror!! All done!! All the big bits.. sorted!! I feel so good!!!

ND348 · 10/08/2018 18:32

I've got an anterior placenta and at 20 weeks moments we weak and sporadic. At 23+6 I'm now feeling definite kicks and can see/feel them from outside. Starting to get into a kind of pattern too. Currently she's kicking on what feels like the top of my cervix which is an odd and quite uncomfortable feeling! Not complaining though as it tells me she's hopefully doing ok in there x

Paranormalbouquet · 10/08/2018 18:33

Mine is incomplete Cake - partially covering is right now. Because of my cervical stitch I’ve had lots of scans and we know that it’s moving down not up at the moment thought which isn’t reassuring! As I’m having a section anyway the important thing is that I don’t bleed (will be so upset if I’ve had major surgery to avoid a premature baby and end up in that situation anyway for other reasons!).

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 10/08/2018 19:27

Hi lovelies, I'm a bit worried and emotional today - I've been having what feels like period pain all afternoon, my OH has gone to Brussels on a stag do for the weekend and I'm feeling unsure. I think my problem is this type of pain is so similar to period pain that I'm freaking myself out thinking I'm shedding something. No bleeding (yet) and I can't remember if I've felt like this since getting pregnant. Have any of you got something similar? Kind of achy and goes round my back and through my hips into the front of my legs. Weird...

kaytees · 10/08/2018 20:04

@GoldilocksTheGraceless I had that earlier in the week and also felt very worried. All was fine at my scan though. Midwife said it can be a result of uterus moving up a bit around 20 week mark, if that helps. She said to just rest if I can! X

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 10/08/2018 20:43

Thanks @kaytees that does help a lot! Just had a perfectly good scan a few days ago so I really shouldn't be worried! You know how it is!

MagicalCreatures · 10/08/2018 20:50

@JustCallMeTheOven haha it gets us all in the end. All done anyway. Your on the list 😁
Sorry to hear some of you girls aren’t having the best of times. It really sucks. Sending you all my love and good thoughts. ❤️
